This is a must go to place. If not for the great coffee / matcha - for the service. Owner / main coffee maker (not sure) but he was very inviting and educated us about matcha and how it's supposed to be made. All while making us laugh. We went 2 days in a row on vacation. Sad we don't live here. The Matcha/Coffee mix is the way to go, literally wired all day. Highly recommend!
Stopped by Culture Drip and instantly loved the vibe--clean, modern, and welcoming without trying too hard. This place is clearly run by people who care about their craft. Shoutout to Chris, who made the experience even better. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about coffee. He took the time to explain the drinks and made great recommendations, which always goes a long way. I ordered the Pistachio Vietnamese coffee, and wow--easily one of the best specialty drinks I've had in a while. Perfect balance of bold Vietnamese coffee with a smooth pistachio flavor that isn't overly sweet. Rich, creamy, and unique without being gimmicky. You can tell real thought went into the recipe. Overall, Culture Drip is a must-visit if you're into quality coffee, great service, and a relaxed atmosphere. With baristas like Chris behind the bar, this spot is doing everything right. Definitely coming back to try more of the menu.
Cute place and cool drinks. The Ube was good but it did taste a little grainy, as I think they use a powder. I think it may need to be blended more, though. Parking is scarce; no lot, just street parking and it's close to the beach so don't hold your breath. It's nice to have something walking distance from when you are hanging out at the beach, however! The waffle was pretty good; light and airy and the toppings didn't make it overly sweet.

Culture Drip (est 2024) is a charming little local corner coffee shop in Newport Beach. They offer coffee (hot/cold) and croffle. Indoor atmosphere was relaxing with abundant of natural light. I had a hot Caramel Latte x Croffle Strawberry. Both were good. Service was spot on. Prices were expensive to say the least. Staff was affable and competent. Overall, it's a nice coffee shop with great service.
Very strong Viet Coffees! Crème Burlee Coffee 7.5/10 The crème Burlee doesn't have the burnt sugar on top but it's still tasty. Pistachio Coffee 7/10 Pistachio Coffee is tasty and also very strong. Downside is that the pistachio isn't as strong. Nice coffees but the cream is quite thick (unless you like it then rating would be higher but unfortunately not my preference). Quick service and friendly staff! Some seating inside and free WiFi, perfect for studying. You will need to find street parking since they don't have a private lot.
I dropped by Culture Drip to get some work done before my Pilates class nearby. Yelpers had touted it as a great place to study. I strongly disagree for one major reason: the music was so unreasonably loud. Like organ thumping loud. I had to set the volume of the background noise on my AirPods really high to drown out the music, but I obviously couldn't do anything about the physical vibrating. Wifi was good, space was comfortable, but for the volume of the music alone, I do not recommend if you need a peaceful environment. Also, although the digital screens on the menu behind them advertised sandwiches, they no longer offer them. I needed a healthier option than something called a croffle, which looked overly sweet. The coconut ice coffee was similarly cloying. I had to add a concentrated black cold brew in order to mute the sweet. In addition, the gal who took my order wasn't sure where their designated parking was located. It was just an overall underwhelming experience. Bottom line for me: an otherwise lovely physical space turned totally jarring due to the anxiety inducing volume. I won't lower stars based on my personal preference for a quieter work space, but I don't see myself wanting to return.
Wow! Today is my lucky day. Came to the beach and found this cute coffee shop right at Newport Pier! Service was friendly, talkative (I love having convos with the baristas). Shop is so cute aesthetically pleasing. Perfect for the beach. I wish I lived closer. I will definitely be back SOON.
They have a variety of different coffee and matcha drinks. I got the Ube Croffle and Banana Coffee and they were both amazing! The ube croffle was warm, soft, and yummy. The banana coffee was really good. Perfect balance of banana flavor and coffee. Service was friendly too. Definitely recommend this place!
Stopped by this adorable little spot before hitting the beach and wow--such a gem! I got the coconut coffee and it was so smooth, creamy, and totally delish. My friend tried the strawberry matcha and couldn't stop raving--"super yummy" was the verdict, and she's already planning our next visit. The service was great and the workers were super friendly--such a welcoming vibe that made the experience even better! Cute drinks, good energy, and the perfect beach-day kickstart!
Came across this place on our walk back from the beach to our car. It's a nice little shop on the corner. Chris, who was working, was super friendly. We got the Ube Matcha and the Mango Dream Chill. Both were super tasty and really hit the spot after a hot day at the beach. read more

Oh goodness it's so good! The coconut crème vietnamese coffee is my jam The guy that works there is probably the nicest person ever and is always telling you about their process and the drinks you order. Go! So good! PS All these people complaining are probably tourist or don't understand beach community or island time (balboa island) haha I kid, but some people complain about everything! Stopped by Culture Drip in Newport Beach and had their Angel Latte, and wow... it was fantastic. Smooth, flavorful, and honestly one of the better specialty lattes I've had in a while. The shop itself is a great environment if you want to meet with someone or get some work done. There's plenty of seating and the space feels comfortable without being too loud. What really stood out though was the team working there. The employees were incredibly welcoming and genuinely nice, which made the experience even better. Great coffee, great atmosphere, and great people. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

This spot was fun. When I saw it on the island I knew I had to try it. I'm an all time ube fan so I had to try the ube matcha. I was very satisfied. It's just as beautiful as the menu photos and the flavor delivered. Service was quick and they were super sweet. I'd def recommend this spot for matcha. Full and flavorful. 10/10 read more

Friendly staff that welcome my family and I, came in for a quick bite for the kids. Ordered Croffle's, and a drink. Great modern Vietnamese coffee shop, near the beach. Food has a lot of flavor enough to say the kids devoured it. Tons of room inside, we parked at the beach side area. read more

Very friendly service and Banana Matcha Latte! I came here based off good reviews and it did not disappoint. The server was very nice and even let me try a Ube Latte he was experimenting with. I wasn't hungry or planning to get food but was tempted when I found out they had a stuffed waffle ham, cheese, jalapeño; and to my surprise was a huge portion. Great location and plenty of nice table/couches inside. Highly recommend! read more

Honestly it's way too expensive. I was so excited to try because everyone's drinks would look so good but seeing it was almost $9 for one drink was already disappointing. Anyway, the banana matcha was very bitter and for some reason the milk or cold foam is curdled. Definitely if you like really strong coffee read more

We were looking for coffee to get our morning started and came across this location through a random search. We asked a few questions and found out they were a Vietnamese based coffee and were immediately sold on that alone. We took the recommendations of the staff and they great in taste and strength! They served their purpose. Cute little corner location but the only downfall was their speed we waited for over 20mins to get our two drinks. Nonetheless we will be going back for another try as we frequent Newport Beach. read more

I love me some Vietnamese coffee! We tried the pistachio coffee which is Vietnamese coffee with pistachio foam and the blueberry matcha. I thought the pistachio foam balanced out the bitterness of the viet coffee and I also love pistachio in general, so it was a good fit for me. The blueberry matcha was not the best I've had--it seemed to taste more like blueberry milk and no matcha. Overall I would come back for a coffee pick me up! There's mainly street parking but you can call in for a phone order. read more
Pro: quiet and modern(simple) look. Their drink is awesome!!! I try Vanilla latte its sweet and creamy vanilla taste. My friend try Strawberry Matcha its sweet was delicious too. Service was awesome they explain to you if you had question about drinks. Con: parking gotta pay at the station by the beach. It's not free parking. Overall the location is great because you can grab a drink and go walk on a beach or pier. The drink is so delicious!!! Great for day out!! read more
After coming here for a yelp elite event this is the 3rd time I've been back. My family just can't get enough! I've had their croffles, and they are so tasty. The service was so accommodating, they asked if I was planning to eat it right away and separated the whipped cream so it wouldn't get soggy. I've ordered several different matcha's the banana and strawberry are hands down my favorites. The banana is a natural banana flavor lightly sweet perfectly paired with the matcha flavor. My partner enjoys the vanilla iced coffee. Everything is great here, super clean space with plenty of seats even on a busy day. Always my go to for a sweet treat in Newport Beach. read more

Visiting Newport Beach for a few days & kept passing by this place and finally went in, and let me tell you, I'm so mad at myself for not going in the first time I walked by. So so incredible!!!!!! So clean inside and the staff was so nice , took the time to explain the drinks to me and made them super quick. I ordered the coconut coffee and the pistachio coffee and OMG!!!!!!!!! Like heaven in a cup. Both were so phenomenal. I haven't written a yelp review in so long, but felt compelled to do this write after I had it bc i think it's new and I hope it stays forever and eventually expands to NorCal bc it's so incredible!!!! The cream was fluffy and thick and tasted so good alone, then we mixed it in w the Vietnamese coffee and it was one of the best coffees I've had!!! Both flavors were so delish, going back again before I leave for more! read more

Do you like Vietnamese Coffee? Do you like the beach? Well this place is literally just a walk away from beautiful Newport Beach! Culture Drip has an amazing little corner shop, it's cozy, it's clean, and welcoming! The service was fantastic, they gave us recommendations that did not disappoint. And everything came out fresh and amazing! I got the Mixed Berry Matcha, it's visually pretty when you get it, so take your pictures, but then, mix it up and take the drink! It's literally like liquid candy. It's fresh blueberries and strawberries, so you may get a little bit of seeds, but hey, the fruit is fresh! I also ordered the pistachio latte, which, omg. Their Vietnamese Coffee is amazingly strong, and the pistachio foam, I got bits of actual pistachio, and *chef's kiss* all around fantastic iced latte! Lastly got the banana mochi waffle. I swear it was like eating banana bread. It was nice and crunchy on the outside but warm and soft on the inside. Go check this place out! Might be a little bit of a pain with parking, but it's worth it! read more

I was headed for a walk on the beach and stumbled upon this place! The name caught my attention so I had to check it out! I loved that the menu had pictures! They had a menu on the wall as well as some on the counter! Which made it easy for me to read and see! We got the Winter Melon Hot Tea Orange Thai Tea I enjoyed the Orange Thai Tea! It was perfect all around! The Winter Melon Tea was a little sweet for my liking but it was still great! Service was great! They were welcoming as well as helpful with any questions we had on the menu! I can't wait to go back and try the coffee! Since it was 9pm I didn't want to get coffee and not be able to sleep but the coffee on the menu looks great! read more

If you like strong creamy Vietnamese coffee I highly recommend this spot. The owner was super friendly and welcoming really high-quality coffee and good ingredients. Since it is premade, you cannot make modifications so please don't come here expecting to modify his drinks. They are delicious as is! Pro tip, ask him to mix the flavored cream for an easier drinking experience. read more

okaayyyyy culture drip!!! i am in love with your coffee!!!! i wish i lived closer bc this is def a spot id get coffee from often so many drinks to choose from: matcha, specialty chill, tropical freeze or lemonade, but i was here for their viet coffee! there were so many cream top flavors that i wanted to try! the guy there was really nice, i must have looked like i was struggling bc he asked if it was my first visit, yes! i told him i was in btw ube, creme brûlée, pistachio and hazelnut. he asked if i wanted to try out the flavors, yes!! that just made the decision even harder! i thought i was ready to order but then i saw, cookie butter under the chill menu ..ughhhh that changed my whole order i asked for cookie butter but in the viet coffee, idk if not off the menu, but that was bomb!!! i also ordered the pistachio and the ube i will def get the hazelnut, creme brûlée, ube, cookie butter and the coffee on coffee next time, heck just order one of each please!! their prices are a bit on the higher side compared to other coffee shops, but def worth it! oh they also sell croffles.. lots of seating inside great place to get some work done or hang out parking: street and metered lot read more
SUCH a vibe. Needed a spot to work and caffeine while in the area and this was perfect. Most customers come in/out so when I went there was plenty of space to do work. There's one outlet. Street parking (can find free spots if you walk a few blocks!). Music is soft hip hop/rap - great ambience. Coffee is STRONG!! Haha could only manage 1/2 of mine before the caffeine rush made me tap out (fwiw I can only handle 1/2 a Celsius at a time so caffeine strength may not be as strong for others!). It's pricey but worth it. They were out of matcha when I came but would def try it in the future. Def keeping in rotation for when I want to get out of LA. And a quick walk away from the beach. Honestly I loved this place!! I got the Blueberry Matcha with oat milk and it was totally amazing!! My friend and I were walking down Newport and honestly were interested at the variety of matcha lattes on their menu. They tasted even better than I imagined, and the service was nice! Cute and cozy, definitely would stop here again if I get the chance! read more
