A few days later, I needed more. Daniel's fruit cart is right on the corner of Gage and Cesar Chavez. It was an overcast afternoon so there wasn't a line. I had about 4 orders to get in a short amount of time. Daniel was cool as the cucumbers he was slicing and I was able to get back to work before my break was over. I ordered two bags of cucumbers and watermelon with lemon and tajin. Both the cucumber and watermelon were ripe, fresh and very tasty. I also ordered a to go container (regular size, not the mini) of mango and pineapple and another of mango, pineapple, jicama and coconut. He even sells the fresh coconut juice from when he opens the coconuts! All the fruit was just as fresh as the cucumbers & watermelon and were very tasty. I learned that Daniel buys his produce from DTLA and samples everything he buys before he purchases to get the best tasting fruits and vegetables. What a find! I'll be a customer for life. It was Hechalou (was excited to try since now I don't have to go to Long Beach, but overall not that great) when I went, but now it's obviously something else. Luckily, I was able to find the chips that an idol I like enjoyed, purchased it here, and gifted it to her during her off kai. Glad that it was in the area.
