However, that was not the case with Thai Kitchen. I was extremely disappointed with what I ordered - the papaya salad, a mixed vegetable dish with chicken and the spicy drunken noodle dish. The papaya salad had the standard fish sauce and sweet flavor, but what was egregious was that there was only 2 pieces of shrimp for the entire dish that cost $14.50. I've paid less for the same dish at other establishments and definitely had more shrimp. The chicken dish with veggies, which I asked to have made spicy, was flavorless and the chicken was dry. The noodle dish wasn't as described on the menu - didn't have any black bean sauce flavor nor basil and the noodles were overly cooked. I always want to support smaller businesses but can't with this one as it was really disappointing. One thing I do want to acknowledge is that the staff/owners were really nice. I hope they take this feedback and refine their food offerings because there is a lack of good Thai food in that area.

Everyone else at our table was also very pleased with their meals. The only unpleasant part of the evening was not really the restaurant's fault. The people seated next to us kept putting their small dogs on the table and allowing them to eat off their plates and lick the table. I have dogs and fully support bringing them along to dog-friendly restaurants, but that felt very unsanitary. I do think Hog Island Oyster is one of the better restaurant options inside the Oxbow Public Market.
