Found this place a couple weeks ago and have been at least 1-2 times a week since. Haven't had a thing I don't like and the service is always very friendly, quick, and knowledgeable! Nice place. People seem nice. Very authentic Thai business. However, even Thai people running Thai restaurants should examine their cultural reactions to normal and fair complaints about their offerings. I was stunned at the TOTAL shut down the three people I informed about a "sizzling basil" dish that went horribly wrong. There is always the perfunctory, "How is everything?" I answered immediately and in a straightforward manor that my dish was not prepared properly. Everything was swimming in water. The woman shrank within herself, attempted to mask her resentment at what she perceived to be my rudeness and leaped away without saying a word. No "I'm sorry" NOTHING. OK... it's a Thai thing. Fine. They'll do the right thing and say sorry at the very least... Nope. I ate the dish because I was starving. I didn't want a battle and the ingredients were good quality but ingredients are only 50% of the battle. Amrit FAILED utterly at the remaining 50%. A different person came to collect the dishes and bring boxes. I informed him in the same neutral straightforward manor that the dish was prepared very poorly and that I was very disappointed. Like a turtle he withdrew his energy from the moment, went completely silent and did his job with barely disguised resentment for my complaint. SCREW the "Thai thing" your restaurant messed up!!!! Don't you care???? It's like they were convinced I wanted something for nothing. I absolutely wanted to pay for the dish, but .... DON'T YOU CARE?!?!?!? There was no "sizzle" beyond the second it was laid before me and then everything QUICKLY cooled into a lake of admittedly fresh vegetables, smallish shrimp and scallops with a bigger than normal price tag. If this were a cheap dish I might have just sucked it up, but it was nearly $30. The noodle dishes my dining mates ordered were pretty good... blandish... but good. I also ordered the Tom Kha with crabmeat for $9.00. Watery, bland and maybe a teaspoon of crabmeat. NOT good. I do judge Thai places by their Tom Ka and again FAIL.... I mentioned that to the waitress and she scampered away with no comment, abject silence and a trail of resentment. You know what.... get over yourselves and take some criticism. Everybody makes mistakes. Deal with it. Running away from criticism means you are giving yourself permission to make a customer unhappy again and again. I also told the cashier about the dish as well. She either didn't get English or acted like she couldn't. Either way, the response was the same: NO RESPONSE!!! I will never ever go back here. I don't doubt that you can go in there and walk out poorer than you should be but happy. Nothing is worse than not being heard or cared about. Nothing. Shame on them. Not going back after their shameful behavior. read more

This is our fav for Thai and we know to eat early because this popular small restaurant gets crowded. Waitstaff is always friendly and attentive. Sushi rolls and chicken, shrimp or the vegetable pad thai very flavorful and medium spicy is perfect for me. Basil shrimp fried rice very fresh and tasty too! read more

My wife's favorite place, she drags me here a lot. I usually enjoy my "usual" meat combo with rice, medium spice. One thing that I have found that Thai food is so consistent no matter where we are. But our last visit to this restaurant seemed to restate that for me. Going back tomorrow to meet a potential client for lunch and will try it again. Hope it was just an off night. We chose this by default because it was late and other nearby restaurants were closed. Not busy at 10 pm For takeout they use the regular menu, which is very logically arranged, mixing types of protein with the various sauces. We got the Shrimp Panang curry and the shrimp pad Thai. Both were delicious. The medium spiceness of the curry was not very hot so I will bump it up next time. We have been dining here for years. The panang curry with tofu and vegetables is absolutely delicious. Perfect for us, as we are vegetarians and sometimes have trouble finding good veggie food in area restaurants. When we order tofu they ask if we are vegetarian and then serve a veggie broth based soup and veggie egg roll with lunch. I highly recommend Amarit. read more

I have eaten lunch here 3 times and the food, service and prices were exceptional, however on my first time eating dinner here none of these qualities existed. The 3 of us decided to get 3 dishes and eat family style. The first dish was a papaya salad, which we ordered medium hot. The salad was so hot that 2 of us couldn't eat it. I didn't see any papaya. When we complained, the staff just scoffed at us and said that the salad was "Thai medium hot". We eat Thai food a lot and know that this is not the case. The next 2 courses were delicious, although expensive. The Pad Thai was perfect. The basil chicken dish had a wonderful delicate chicken, although the kitchen staff left out all hints of hot due to our prior complaint. The side dish of rice was not adequate for three people. I ordered the yum seafood salad. Supposed to have shrimp, scallops and squid. Don't know about anyone else, but where I come from a seafood salad should have more than 2 shrimp, no scallops and lots of squid. Basically $13 for 2 shrimp and a lot of lettuce. Give me a break!!!!
