I first discovered Amarith Farmhouse in CDM while staying at the Marriott Newport Coast a couple years ago, and I'm so glad I did! It's a little hidden gem tucked behind a flower shop, and it's hands-down one of the best places I've ever eaten. Everything is farm-fresh and made from scratch. Nothing is frozen or mass-produced. You can truly taste the quality. I've brought so many friends here over the years, and now they're all just as addicted as I am! My friends and I play pickleball at TTC and The Newporter just down the street, and this has become our go-to spot to grab breakfast or lunch before we hit the courts. My absolute favorite is the Ultimate Amarith Sandwich, and the onion rings are crazy good. I honestly haven't found onion rings anywhere that even come close! The people here make the experience even better. Luis, the manager, is incredible. He smiles as soon as we walk in the door and chats with us while we eat, making everyone feel like family. Chef Carlos is amazing too. They both remember us every time we come in, which says so much about the level of hospitality they provide. I've tried so many items on the menu, and every single one has been absolutely delicious. I'm so happy I found this place, and I've recommended it to countless people. We ordered breakfast burritos to go and were surprised by the quick service. There are only two tables inside, so we headed to the beach to enjoy them. The OC burrito was good, but needed salsa to round it out. Their salsa was our favorite part. The cutest little gem sitting right next to chronic tacos and behind an adorable parking lot flower shop They have multicolor eggs and homemade cream in fridges and freezers, and they have an unsuspectingly great coffee menu. Oh boy! I have been a customer of Amarith in Fountain Valley since they opened quite a few years ago now. I have had many great meals there and recommended the place to so many people. I even helped create a relationship with the Fountain Valley location and my place of business so they cater most of our events and meetings. Now for Newport Beach. We drove a good 25 minutes to get here so we could try this location and then spend the afternoon at the tide pools. They advertise their eggs as being soft scrambled, which is one of the reasons their breakfasts are so delicious normally. This location does not have the same consistency of eggs that I've experienced before. They tasted like a normal scramble. We all ordered something that had bacon in it. When our food came, we opened it up and we found that only my sandwich had bacon in it and looked like what was scrapped together at the bottom of the bacon pan. So, just a few pieces of old bacon as they had just ran out. Instead of letting us know before the food was prepared that they ran out of bacon, they decided to substitute my kids' bacon with two pretty tasty sausage links. Unfortunately, my kids aren't big fans of sausage links. They did take a bite to try it though. They enjoyed their pancakes however I've seen the pancakes at the FV location and these were not what I'm used to experiencing. They were not too fluffy, pretty flat especially for the price you're paying for a single medium sized pancake. My son ordered blueberry pancakes and my daughter ordered plain pancakes. They put three blueberries on top of my son's pancake so we thought that was the blueberry so they got switched and didn't get their right order. By the time we figured it out they had already dressed it up with toppings. That's pretty much my fault for not checking more thoroughly but the blueberries did throw me off and the boxes were not labeled. My wife reported that her Ranchero Breakfast burrito had dry chorizo and flavorless eggs. She ate a few bites and took the rest home in hopes to "re-do" it later. As for the ambiance it left me wondering if the owner had been by to visit in a few months and perhaps that's why things weren't up to the standards I am used to experiencing at Amarith in Fountain Valley. My daughter noticed there were 4 hanging plants that were completely dead and hanging down with dead leaves. Otherwise, it appeared to be a pretty basic beach café vibe. Not quite as "posh" as you might expect in Newport Beach or Corona Del Mar. Customers should know that it's not really a sitdown place like the other one is. There are two tables with a total of four chairs and it's a very small location. It's meant to be a takeout restaurant. The person working in the counter did offer my kids a couple free cookies at the end, which was nice...also the coffee was good. read more

They catered a women's luncheon at our church, and the food was delicious! Our family has walked by their restaurant in Fountain Valley numerous times as we waited for our seats at Shabuya in the same complex. We've always been there when they were closed and said that we wanted to come back to try them. I never made the connection that this caterer and restaurant were one and the same...yeah, I know...I blame menopause brain. Anyway, back to the catering. We got the herb roasted chicken, roasted vegetables, and brussel sprouts. The chicken...to die for! Tasty and moist...and you know how easy chicken breast can dry out! The brussel sprouts were great, and I loved the added sliced jalapeños in it. Since we over ordered the chicken, there were lots of leftovers for us to take home. My family enjoyed it as well. Fast forward a couple months later, and we stopped by to get a few things to go since we were in the neighborhood. We got carrot cake, pies, breakfast pastries, and chicken pot pies. Everything was super tasty, and the pot pies reheated well. Next time, we will dine in and enjoy more of their delicious food! read more

Very disappointing experience. We picked up the fried chicken expecting something special from a place that markets itself as an organic farmhouse, but the meal was awful from start to finish. The chicken was greasy, soggy, slimy, and completely lacking in flavor. The mashed potatoes were bland and forgettable and they forgot the gravy, not that it would have helped. Overall, this was one of the worst takeout meals we've had in a long time. Nothing tasted fresh or well-prepared, and certainly not worth the price. There are far better options out there. If it wasn't for the big sign out front, or the internet, you could easily miss this place - I had no idea they were a chain until I looked them up; otherwise, I just know them as a great little "hole in the wall" kitchen to pop in as you walk along PCH. I'm only writing this to tell about their smash burgers - I am not very knowledgeable about what is and isn't genuine Wagyu or organic, etc. etc. but I can say with confidence this was one of the most tasty hamburgers I have ever had, anywhere: The flavor and texture of the beef patties was far above any other burger I've had recently, "gourmet" or not, and tasted super fresh, and cooked to the perfect degree of done-ness. The bun is high quality Brioche that soaks up all that tasty juiciness while maintaining it's structure. Caramelized onions, and a wonderful zesty sauce that I wish they put more of! Hefty size burger - definitely worth the asking price, although mine was a bit over-seasoned (too salty, but that at least means there's somebody behind the grill actually making it to order). Not much room for seating - literally just a couple tables and chairs on the side of the counter, so more of a take-out friendly spot. They have a wide variety of other items on their menu for such a small joint, and as they are a bakery company, lots of desert items, which I will eventually get around to trying - But at least for now, I know where I will go when I have a craving for a burger! read more

Our new favorite café latte spot in CDM Newport Beach we have been here a few times and we decided we wanted to try something on the menu. Breakfast croissant with arugula was very good and the breakfast burrito very flavorful what caught our attention and what we really gravitate towards. Apparently they try to source their coffee beans from mostly organic providers but nothing else here is actually organic. Their false advertising continues with their "keto" products, which the staff at this outlet says they've never even heard of. My wife and I decided to stop here for a mid-afternoon snack of a black cherry crumble pie. While we were about to dig into the cold pie, Esther, one of the owners, came out and asked if we would like to have the pie warmed up. We said we would. The warmed up pie was really, really delicious! And Esther told us the black cherries are organic. She also told us how every thing at the restaurant is made from scratch. Esther and the staff here are very friendly. It's a small, simple restaurant with only a couple of tables inside and a counter and a couple of tables outside. When I was waiting to pay for the cherry pie, a woman in line suggested that I get the chicken num pang, which she said was an amazing Cambodian sandwich. I rarely write negative reviews, but I want to warn others so this doesn't happen to them. I placed an online order days in advance for a cake and cookies for a birthday party. I received a confirmation and my card was charged, so I assumed everything was set. When we arrived at the Corona del Mar location to pick up the order, the staff told us they had no record of the cake at all. Because of this mistake, we were left without a birthday cake for our party. The manager said he would contact the owner and follow up with me, but no one contacted me for two days, and I still hadn't received a refund. When they finally did respond after I had to write again, the message was not very sympathetic, which made the situation even more frustrating. It was to the effect, "we will look for the order and refund you, sorry technical error". This is the second time this has happened with pre-ordering, so I do not think it was a technical glitch. The first time I thought was a one-off, but it seems they have issues with this. Mistakes can happen, but what matters is how a business handles them. Unfortunately, the lack of organization and the poor care after this situation doesn't want to make me ever order from them again. If you're planning something important, I would strongly recommend not relying on an advance order here, or at the very least confirming multiple times beforehand. read more

Came here after an early morning hike since a couple of my friends had come here before and highly recommended it. I was a bit worried about parking since it's on a busy street but it's nice that there's a parking lot right out front. Also the store location is really great since it's a close walk to the beach, so we got our food and headed down there to eat. They seem to be known for their burritos, but I personally don't like burritos that much so I got a chicken noodle soup and orange juice. Both were really great and I feel like it was a really fair price point. I like that they have a lot of variety in food options, and they even have several pastry items too. This place is a super small order/pick-up at the counter place with two inside tables and limited outdoor bar seating. Burger was "7.5/10" according to my boyfriend but the fries were amazing. I had the tuna melt with a side of fries, nothing to knock my socks off but it did satisfy my appetite for a tuna melt.
