My dinner companions were thoroughly pleased and we are coming back. Only recommendation is to change the Key Lime pie description to Key Lime Cheesecake. So happy Amaro's has this Hazel Dell location since their downtown Vancouver spot is pretty small and fills up quickly. I do recommend making a reservation online for this location if you're coming on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday at peak dinner time. Amaro's menu & food is always delicious, whatever we order. I love that they have a nice mix of starters, salads, sandwiches, and entrees using seasonal, local ingredients as much as possible. The service at this location was friendly and a bit more attentive than our experience at their downtown spot. The decor is just is snazzy & sleek as their downtown location, and a great spot for either a casual meal or a special occasion celebration. read more

We wanted to try this place after having a good experience at their sister restaurant, Hi‑Hopes Cafe. Unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to expectations. We were a group, so a mandatory 20% gratuity was added--which normally implies a certain level of service. That simply didn't happen. I understand it was a busy Saturday night, but service shouldn't disappear entirely just because the tip is guaranteed. My better half ordered the pork chop and really enjoyed it. I ordered the meatloaf special, which was a different story. It arrived extremely dry--both the meatloaf and mashed potatoes--and could have used butter or extra sauce right away. I took a few bites, set my fork down, and waited for our server to check in. And waited... and waited. For 45 minutes, no one came by. I sat there while everyone else finished their meals, hoping for a simple check-in that never happened. That's not 20% service. When the server finally returned--with the dessert menu--and asked about boxes, I mentioned I'd take mine home but that it was very dry. Her response was simply "oh," and she walked away. No offer to fix it, no follow-up, no concern. With a mandatory gratuity, there's no incentive to go above the bare minimum--and unfortunately, that's exactly what this felt like. Tipping used to reflect service. In this case, it felt like we were locked into paying for something we didn't receive. Maybe I just got the one bad meal out of the group, but between the food and the lack of service, it was disappointing. When you're spending around $100 for dinner, you expect a better experience. This is by far my favorite place in the 'Couve! Cheese fondue, Brussels sprouts, corn fritter appetizers all delicious. But seriously the cheese fondue with a warm pretzel is the best fondue I have ever had. Flavorful not stringy, excellent consistency and great garlic accented flavor. Every time I go, it's great good. Consistent, delicious and a good variety. The waiting staff is always friendly but they could be more efficient. Anyone with a pitcher should never walk by an empty water glass. Parking lot is tight but there's plenty of room around the area to park. Great bar, good drinks, oh and the desserts...Forget about it! Ricotta doughnuts every time! And if you're lucky enough to have chocolate mousse on the menu; eat one there and get one to go! read more

I enjoyed it. We ordered in for my brothers birthday. My SIL did a dip but had no au jus. She had corn fritters and they were pretty tasty. My bro did the steak sando and said it was good. I did the red wine short ribs w mashed and the Brandied apple crisp. It was hearty and filling. You could taste the red wine but it was just the right amount. It was all solid and flavorful. The dessert was also tasty. It was enough to make me try something else there but I wouldn't go out of my way. I'd try a new place first, but everything was good for what it was. read more

I had the Cirtus glazed salmon for dinner. It was excellent, best salmon I've had in a while I ate the whole plate. My family all enjoyed their meals (except the pork chop-didn't get rave reviews.). We found the restaurant very cute and the service was attentive (although it slowed down towards the end of the dinner). We will come again. read more

*UPDATE* While the steak sandwich continues to dazzle my BF, I've had no luck with this place after the burger. French dip was mostly gristle and awful. I had to toss the meat and au jus was indescribably salty. The latest mediocrity was the seasonal ragu with pappardelle and garlic bread. The bread was good but the pasta was a little too sweet and too salty at the same time. It was also very greasy and I had to do my best to choke it down before my flight. I might try a couple more times so he can enjoy his steak, but I'm running out of options that appeal. read more

Amaros never disappoints! We came for my birthday and I forgot photos until I was half way through my blackened salmon risotto, which was delicious. My family had cheeseburgers and fries. They even brought extra fries when they realized the ones we got were the end of the basket. We also got a club sandwich with their homemade chips! In a time when restaurants seem to have less and less personal service and creative food choices, Amaro was a wonderful surprise! We stopped by on our northern trek back home, and it was a delight from beginning to end. We could tell it was a good find just from the full tables. The food was amazing. We had a salmon Nicoise salad which was just over the top! I ordered their version of a ceviche with chips. If it wasn't afternoon, I would have ordered from the amazing list of cocktails. Everyone was friendly beyond any expectation. I only wish they had more locations further north in Washington. I recommend HIGHLY!! read more

The best meal in recent memory! Everything on the menu was tempting, but I'd make the trip from Portland just for the chicken rice soup--it's perfection! The service was also top notch; everyone was courteous and efficient. The ambience was laudable for a converted Applebees. We've eaten here a couple of times in the last few weeks. Everything was made with care for the presentation. All of the entrees had good flavor and taste. They offer plenty of food with your meal. We were all full after we ate. Friendly wait staff and hosts. Definitely worth stopping for a meal. Parking can be difficult as they don't have a lot of spaces and they always seemed to be busy. Booths, tables etc. We chose to sit outside. And it was very pleasant. There's a decent cover and it was early so not too hot. We started with the Cruel summer cocktail, a spicy margarita. It was flavorful and delicious, but not strong at all. We also got the house made ricotta and fig jam w/ baguette! This was divine! That ricotta was so creamy, just the right amount of salt and the jam on top just really set it off. For my entree I got the wild salmon Niçoise salad. It never disappoints, I've eaten it a dozen times. It is a large salmon fillet over a spring mix with green beans, roasted potatoes, tomatoes, olives, boiled egg, capers and dressed in a balsamic topped with thin red onion. The atmosphere and the dim lighting ambiance was amazing. The staff was attractive and very well put together. Acceptable to take a person on a date for drinks. 4 out of 4 people in our group wouldn't come back to eat here though. I would suggest the owner to buy quality ingredients for the chef and then the chef to come up with a new menu to taste test the food before presenting the the public. I was actually disappointed since so many people have said it was good but it was all for looks. Will come back again one more time if any changes I'll update my review. read more

Amaro's Table has found a lovely niche that I wish more restaurants would fill - that slightly upscale food and environment with the slightly downscale prices. Honestly, this location is interesting in that the area/parking lot/layout don't quite match the feel of the downtown Vancouver location. But you go inside and it actually feels fantastic. They really turned that ole Applebees vibe around. As for the food, I don't think I've had something yet that I don't like. They have a wide selection of quality options. This time I went for the club sandwich and a starter house salad. Wonderful presentation on the salad, and the sandwich was loaded! Definitely recommend a trip to Amaro's if you're needing something nice, but slightly more budget friendly. read more

Amaro's Table NEVER disappoints when I go there! Their drinks and food are on point and delicious every time! And, yes of course, that famous fried chicken everyone talks about is the reason why I go. I do wish they had gravy for the mashed potatoes, but we got creative and used their chicken Marsala sauce. What's not to love. Ambiance is upscale and cozy, food was excellent! I got the French dip and my partner got the fried chicken and the biggest plate of chicken came out, such a treat. We were blessed to be served by Annastasia and our glasses were never empty and every need was anticipated before we could even think it. Price point was incredibly reasonable, for a nice dinner out and not waste $. Well worth the money spent. For 2 adults to get 2 fountain drinks, meals with upgrades, and an app to share we spent less than 80$ with leftovers for tomorrow. I had a lovely lunch today at the Hazel Dell location. I ordered the hamburger off the happy hour menu. It was delicious! It was juicy and smothered with caramelized onions. It was served alone, no fries, but that was ok with me and the price was right! Gotta love happy hour menus! I also had a perfect Arnold Palmer which wasn't too sweet and wasn't too tart. Our server was attentive and patient with my elderly mother. Mom ordered the fried chicken dinner and she loved it. My sister got the wild salmon dinner which came with lovely green beans and mashed potatoes. I especially appreciated how thoughtful the staff were to my mother who uses a walker. They held open the door going and coming and sat us at a table where the walker wouldn't be in the way. Amaro's has an inviting yet casual vibe that makes everyone feel comfortable. We had a wonderful lunch at the Hazel Dell location! The food seemed much better than the downtown Amaro's. My sister & I got Arnold Palmers. Wow! We both remarked that they were exactly like we liked them. Some places give you a watery version, or they are too sour, etc but Haley B, our server made them perfectly. Speaking of Haley B., she was an excellent server. She was very attentive, and answered out questions knowledgeably. It was happy hour (we were there shortly after 2pm), so my sister ordered a cheeseburger off the happy hour menu. She especially loved the caramelized onions that came on it. I got the wild caught salmon with citrus beurre blanc sauce, mashed potatoes and green beans. If I hadn't been in public I would've licked my plate! Haha! The fish was cooked perfectly, the sauce was amazing, the potatoes were well seasoned and had a hint of smoky flavor that was hard to put my finger on. The green beans were thin, bright green and were seasoned to perfection with herbs. I couldn't fault anything about the meal, from the flavors to the cook on everything. I've been to Amaro's Table quite a few times and the food, ambiance, staff and management team have all been wonderful. I wanted to leave a note today because my parents are in town and they enjoyed the food (carnitas tacos, fig and ricotta, salmon salad, donuts), ambiance and Ann our sever so much they wanted to go back for dinner the next day. Rob, the GM got us an early dinner reservation for the next evening. My parents had another excellent experience with Ann as our server again and loved that on Saturday even more team members stopped by to say hello. Me and my friends are long time regulars, minimum of four times a month. On this particular evening I had a 7:45 PM reservation because my daughter had just arrived in town and her first ask the moment she touches down is if we can come to Amara's table while she's here. Well, we typically have very good service even when they are extremely busy tonight was sadly an exception. Our server was terrible and it appeared to be rather personal. She initially took our drinks and her appetizer order. We had completed our appetizer which another server brought, which is fine. Before she even came back by and asked for our dinner order. That was the last time we saw our waitress. We ate our dinner. Our drinks ran empty. And she serviced a table right behind us and tables to the side and never acknowledge us. Finally, my daughter asked another employee if we could get our check. When the person returned to the table with our receipt and my credit card, I asked if they were understaffed this evening. It appeared to be the manager I was speaking with said no we're not understaffed. Was there a problem? Explain the situation while she was very apologetic and made efforts to rectify the situation, which I appreciate it. I'm still left several hours later perplex as to what occurred when I'm in there we always tip appropriately and I have one friend in particular who tips at about a rate of 50%. I'm always courteous say thank you and please. My only guess is this waitress this particular night had some level of discrimination towards my daughter and I. Given the fact that it is five hours later and it's still on my mind I'm not sure I will return. I hope Amaro's does some coaching with their staff. read more
