Okay so it's a little tricky to get into at first. You grab a cart and once inside you can open the Amazon app and get the "in store code" and verify that the card on your account is what you want to pay with. Then you scan your phone and the gate opens up. They have all the normal grocery items that you would find at Vons, Stater Bros., etc. and it's about the same price as all of those. The benefits are that they have a deli and a food bar with pizza, sandwiches, salad bar, etc. which all looked really good. The cons are that overhead monitors track what's in your cart, so as you're leaving you just scan your phone again and you don't even know that your total is until about an hour or 2 later when it emails you. (You do have the option to check out the old fashioned way if you want.) So upon checking our receipt we noticed we had been charged for an item that I had looked at, but never put in my cart. It was easy to request a refund, but I don't want to have to check my receipt every time. Overall, I would be more inclined to shop here if they had Aldi prices or unique items like Aldi. If anything is going to bring me back, it's the salad bar. read more

I went in a few days after the grand opening. I was looking forward to trying the "Skip The Checkout". BE WARNED...I was just informed that if you pick something up and do not put it back in the same exact spot, you will get charged for the item. I picked up a bag and ended up leaving it at a different location and got charged for 4 bags? I was looking at the nutritional data on a jar of mustard and got charged for it. It wasn't even in my cart. I walked out with a Heinz gravy and a slice of pizza and got charged for gravy, 4 bags and mustard. If you are doing a large shopping....you should do the checkout. If you are walking in for one or two things..check your receipt afterward. read more

I don't know if I went on an off day, but the staff was definitely not friendly. No one was there to explain what was happening, or how it worked. One worker glared at me because my cart was in front of the blueberries she was inventorying, and then proceeded to shove my cart out of the way, without a word. Another staff member had no idea about the merchandise. All the staff was busy standing around talking to each other, and not helping people who were obviously confused. My receipt took THREE hours to arrive in my in-box and it had three items on it that I didn't purchase. It took 40 minutes for the customer service agent at Amazon to rectify this. Be careful about picking up anything because you could be charged for it. Non-food items are overpriced. Neosporin was over $10 at Amazon Fresh, and is under $8.00 if you order it on Amazon's website. There is a good selection of certain things. I thought their frozen food section was stocked very well, and their produce looked good. All in all, probably will stick with going to Sprouts or Trader Joe's. read more

Complete waste of time, on every level. Prices are high, period. I only went because they had a $20 off $40 coupon. All of the sale items in the flyer ad that I was interested in (artichokes, salmon, etc.) were sold out, and this is from early in the second day of the ad, And it wasn't crowded. If you can't keep your ad leader items in stock on your grand opening, you really effed up. No covid/suppy chain excuses apply, You knew when you were opening. Fresh prepared items did not look at all fresh, I have no idea what other reviewers saw but all lettuces on the salad bar were wilted and the other salad ingredients were not fresh and were all obviously poured out of a bag. Fresh hot food just looked like it had been out for a while. Carnitas, for example, the meat on top was dark on the edges and corners dry, on Cinco de Mayo! And the Spanish rice was dry and unappealing. I could go on, I am always interested when a new grocery opens, and I care more and am more critical than most, but this store was a loser on each level. I had low expectations, and they still underwhelmed. I'm not sure if the "techy" gimmicks can keep this store afloat but I don't see any reason an engaged shopper would bother with this place. read more

I just got home from shopping at the grand opening and it was amazing! So beautiful and well stocked. Everyone was very friendly and there were many things going on to celebrate the opening. The store is large and has great options with a full deli and bakery. There is even a section where you can buy different Amazon gadgets. The employees explained the process and I was able to scan to enter and scan to check-out with ease! I will definitely be returning! read more

We used Canyon Transport to bring us to our ski destination in Utah. From booking to final destination was easy . Our flight was delayed for over 2 hours but no problem as they were tracking . Why rent a vehicle when you can take a transport. Our driver , Brian was AWESOME! read more

The store made me miss being in Target, Trader Joe's, & even Von's. I was surprised in a bad way to learn that I couldn't get a receipt after I went through the checkout. I was told it would appear on my phone in 30 minutes, but now I'm home, it's been over 50 minutes, & I still haven't found it it, so I don't know if I used the $10 coupon, or if I was charged for a jam I dared to move on the shelf so I could see the freshness date. [UPDATE: the receipt finally arrived and was perfect. See last paragraph of this review.] More cons and some pros: Pros: I got a small box of food with items from the salad bar, and almost everything in it is delicious and fresh. I'm eating it as I type this. The surprisingly large store had many items, including ones I was familiar with. One employee seemed excellent, but she had too many customers to deal with. She said she could multi-task, but the customer in line glared angrily at me because she stopped scanning her items to answer my questions. Cons: Shopping there felt dehumanizing and even kind of scary. I couldn't get or even see a receipt for what I'd paid for. No physical receipts. I wish I'd used the very slow check out lines (only 1.5 of them with human cashiers were open-- really just one, since one closed at least temporarily while I was in it.) Instead, I trusted -- really mistrusted -- a system like the ones used to charge customers for overpriced items in hotel fridges. Like Aldi, there weren't many people working in this store. I like people and don't like this about Amazon Fresh. You have to show ID just to enter the area where they sell wine and beer. The person working there didn't know much about their wines & didn't offer to get anyone who did. There was one excellent employee (mentioned above), though she did seem a little exasperated by the time I was on question #7. (Give or take 2 questions.) More details about the human cashier option: I was going to wait in a line for a register with a human. The two customers ahead of me worked at this Amazon Fresh and were finished for the day & on a break. Interesting that the Amazon Fresh employees weren't using the "quicker" no human, pay & exit option. They all seemed to like each other which was nice, but there was a problem scanning first customer's (again, an Amazon Fresh employee's) items and there was no manager around to help the woman at the register, so she had to walk across large store to try & find help. When she didn't return after a couple of minutes I thought I'd brave the "quicker" option without human cashiers, and regretted it. I had many questions. This store wasn't that intuitive. Maybe it'll improve & catch on, but I hope they rebrand the chain as a less expensive version of Whole Foods (Amazon Market? Amazonaldi?) and make it more like like a traditional human supermarket. Food is personal, yet this place reminded me of HAL in 2001: A Space Odyssey. The prices weren't that great either. I think I would've paid about the same for what I got at Von's, even with a $10 off order of $20 more more coupon I used. Not sure what I spent at Amazon Fresh. Still no sign of the receipt. I'll call my credit card company to see how much the charged me. UPDATE: the receipt came and it had exactly what I ordered which is pretty impressive technologically, but also a little creepy. I gave the store a second Yelp star, and might return to use the next $20 off on a shopping order of $50 or more, when that becomes valid --on May 15, if I remember correctly. read more

I have shopped here many times and always seem to find something unique. The breads are great, especially the cranberry walnut. They have also added a clearance isle which includes many different products. This is now my favorite isle. I also like the bag as you shop because it makes it so much easier to place in your cart and they have the bags located throughout the store. read more

The Amazon return counter and pick up counter has poor customer service. There was only one worker there and she was doing something in the back she kept saying "I'll be with you in a minute" when someone tried to get her attention. She was ignoring the customers. so we tried to get help from the food area, after a few minutes, the manager showed up to help her. Then, she decided to return to the desk to help customers. By that time there were five people in line and the person in front of us had been waiting for more than 10 minutes. She was rude and unfriendly. read more

We went to Kohl's & decided to see what an Amazon Fresh was all about. We bought blueberries and a watermelon. The blueberries we fine. HOWEVER we cut open the watermelon 4 days after we bought it and it was HORRIBLE! It was nothing but mush! Very disappointing that none of it was eatable. Don't think we'll be back and definitely won't be buying fruit there again. read more

I dont get the low star reviews, this place is the best supermarket ive ever been to in my life. For quick grab and go nothing beats it. It had a large amount of fresh produce, and almost everything else i needed. It feels more like a huge 7/11 but it had everything. And the simplicity of just scanning once and leaving was heavenly. How much time does that save people? I feel like everyone is missing how awesome it is bc it doesnt function exactly like a vons. But what it lacks in those respects, for those of us that want to just get and go this is amazing. It would be the ideal place for stocking up for a trip that u forgot to plan for. Just dash in, raid what u need and go. Just wish itd stay open later . 10 pm is too early this place is geared for non typical customers so stay open later pls. read more

Awesome. Virtually contactless shopping. The green reusable shopping bags are large and roomy, very practical. I love packing my groceries as I shop. LOVE IT. Big box stores are no longer training their box people on the fine art of packing up groceries. I'm happy to be able to pack as I go with care; no more bananas crushed under the weight of canned goods. I've visited at least a half dozen times..the employees have always been friendly and helpful. It's so great to be able to shop and go....I don't care that it takes awhile for the receipt to be emailed. The system is very accurate. Fab shopping experience. read more

Was excited to check out the new store this morning. Had to wear a parka to get thru the experience/entire store and each aisle. Passed on the alcohol section, did not feel like getting my ID out just to check out what they have to offer. Prices are over priced. No real deals. Have options, but sold out of many popular items. I chose the traditional purchasing route, even though I am an Amazon Prime shopper. Always prefer the cashier experience over scanning my own experience. There is a fabulous review of cons and pros, read that review. I will not be back. Not worth it. And customer service is totally lacking, especially when I asked to speak to a manager. Wanted to get the low down on why I should come back. Ended up leaving my basket of items after the assistant manager offered to help me. There were 6 people in line for the cashier. The assistant manager said she did not want to sell me on shopping at the store. Well, could have said easy check out with the electronic scanning. I will not be back, and do not recommend the experience. TOO EXPENSIVE for what they are offering. Will continue my Vons, Stator Brothers, Sprouts, Target, Aldi's and Trader Joe's shopping. I ordered online for in-store pickup. The order was placed around 5:30 pm for 7-8 pm pickup window. At 6:45 pm, I received a text stating that they were running behind. Ok, it's Friday night before the Memorial Day weekend, they must be busy. Then, after 8 pm I wanted to cancel the order since they have not put the order together. There was no option to cancel the order. I called Amazon Fresh customer service line, and the rep couldn't cancel it either. She said I could just go inside the store and get the order. What? Then what's the point of ordering online? She then said if the order is not ready by closing time, it's automatically canceled. Ok... it sounds like this happens often. I've never had an order canceled on me by any other grocery stores. Then at 10:30 pm, 30 min after closing time, I received a message saying that the order was cancelled. No option to pick up the next day or change to delivery. Just cancelled. What a waste of time! read more

AWFUL AND A STUNNING DISAPPOINTMENT! I could not wait for the last two years after seeing a video of how the Dash Cart works. That was the main reason I wanted to shop there. To have a screen in front of your cart to see what you are buying and the cost as it adds up is a great way to shop. Not in La Verne. I was shocked to see they only provide a regular shopping cart that does nothing. At least nothing that you can see if anything at all. I was shopping blind with a weird feeling not knowing if everything was being accounted for. The next problem is the PRICES! Friends and I were under the impression it would be inexpensive in fact competing with T-Joes or Walmart. The prices were higher than Albertsons, the leader in high prices. The salads, similar to the ones I buy at TJ's were $7.98 for the same size I pay from $3.99 to $4.99 at T-Joes. Same as the whole grain bread I buy at TJ's but higher here. I could swear a few items were even cheaper online via Amazon than in the store. Being uncomfortable not knowing what is or is not being accounted for I left the store with only half of my shopping to be done elsewhere tomorrow. It only gets worse. Using my Amazon card at check out, it wasn't recognized. I tried it several times then it asked for a thumbprint which told me that it didn't match my card. I never gave a thumbprint when I got my card. I did not move the cart but reached over to try the next credit card machine and it went through. Now I feel really weird because I'm thinking since that machine opened the gate next to me instead of the one I stood in front of, then was I charged or charged twice? I'm reluctantly leaving the store with no receipt wondering if I'll be double charged or charged at all. When I got him there was an email saying they are working on my receipt and I will get it soon. It arrived 4 hours later. No Dash Cart, No Customer service, High Prices, No confirmation or receipt when you walk out. Why wouldn't go back? I've only been out of the mental hospital for a week so there is still a chance. read more
