We purchased our new home two months ago and knew right away that we needed to put solar on it. After a lot of research, I found Ambrose. They certainly live up to their reviews, from the introduction to install, the process has been very clear, and all project details have been clearly defined, discussed and executed exactly how I was told. We had solar installed on our old home from another company, and had nothing but horrible experiences after the contract was signed - I regretted it... thankfully Ambrose has really done a great job! Marcelino and his install team were extremely professional and courteous. They clearly explained the plan for the two-day install, they answered all my questions, and they were so clean! They did a FANTASTIC job cleaning up after themselves, you would never know construction occurred. Carissa, my project manager has been such a delight to work with. She has kept me updated on all aspect of the project and what to expect. I love the fact that I can text, email or call and know that I would be able to be in contact with her quickly - not that I have had to contact her much, because she reaches out to me with information before I ever need to check in with her. I knew going into it that I wanted to own a system, so I did a search for an approved installer on the Go Green Financing site and Ambrose Solar was the first company listed. I was impressed with their reviews on yelp was able to get an appointment for an in-home consultation fairly quickly. Jon Landsman, was the solar specialist assigned. He is super knowledgeable and really took the time to understand our needs. Going solar is a big commitment and Jon was very patient answering all my questions, ensuring we were making an informed decision that we would be comfortable with for the next 25+ years. I was impressed with the software and technology used to come up with our system design. Jon even allowed me to create my own and showed how each design would work for our home and energy usage on the spot. Ambrose Solar - Solar Installation Near Me - Vacaville, California

This is another follow up from my original review. They did reach out after the previous bad review and once I updated the review, the communication dropped off and still can't get a call back from them. Originally it was Vincent and then started dealing with Bri and now can't get a call back again. I called first thing this morning and they said she would call me right back and of course...nothing. Facts: They installed the equipment Oct 2 and 3rd. Did not file the paperwork with PG&E until Oct 14th. No contact from anyone. I called PG&E the other day and they said they had not received a document from Ambrose. Ambrose says they provided it and will give me an update. I haven't heard anything since. Now, it definitely could be PG&E, but given the experience with Ambrose, I have doubts. It is now Nov 15th and my system is till not turned on and I am paying the Solar loan and PG&E. No offer whatsoever from Ambrose to help make things right for their customer. just blame PG&E and then not call back. I am now paying for solar and PG&E at the same time. They can blame PG&E, which I am sure has some bearing on this but they waited 11 days later to file the paperwork and it appears that they did not include a document that was needed and only addressed it once I called PG&E. That is when they said they would have someone reach out to PG&E. I am having an attorney look over the contract because I worry about trying to deal with them in the future should something go wrong. They praised themselves on customer service when I was signing up but they have not lived up to it at all. Only the installation team has been great. The office, not at all. Unfortunately, that is who you will have to deal with if you have any issue. Buyer beware. They do sound great, like any salesman but once they have your money, you don't have any importance to them. The bets part of this is that I called them today (Bri) to actually get a name for a new contact for a salesman, since my original one never got back to me in the end about the final layout and had to deal with it the day of installation. I obviously won't be passing on their info. Please think twice about using these guys. I don't have trust in them as a business and unfortunately I am stuck with them now and will have to deal with them in the future if anything goes wrong. read more

All the staff at Ambrose were super responsive, helpful, explained complicated electronics so I could understand what was happening and went above and beyond to make sure the system was working correctly. From start to finish it did take 6 months, but that was mostly related to trying to obtain county permits and inspections. The install took 2 weeks. Ambrose Solar exceeded my expectations in every way; from my first phone call, through completion of installation and turning on the system!! Beginning with Kelsey Commerford, his sales approach was much appreciated. He's a great listener and thoughtful about getting answers to my many questions in a very timely manner. His presentation of different solar options is organized and easy to understand, and the software platform Ambrose uses also makes all the information make sense. Kelsey was patient with my numerous adjustments in system size quotes and made sure I was happy with the final system size and design. Once I signed the contract, Kelsey introduced me to project coordinators, Noelle and Selina, who managed all the appointments and communication with various individuals, from inspections through install. They both did a fabulous job! Always providing updates of who was coming and reminders. I was blown away by how detail oriented Ambrose Solar is in making sure all the employees and subs who were sent to the house provided the utmost customer service and premier finishing details. Everyone was respectful, introducing themselves, informing me of what they were working on, and providing top notch service. From SPAN installer, Diamond Painting, Dalton and his crew for installing whole solar system and batteries (I'm sorry I cannot recall 3-4 other kind men's names, but they were just as important in making sure all met Ambrose standards.- adjusting things that did not look right.) I, honestly, have never worked with another company who is so thorough! Kelsey followed up after completion to make sure I was happy with everything and helped explain how to use the apps to understand the system and batteries. Long overdue review! The team at Ambrose Solar is amazing. I reached out to them to have our existing solar system removed so we could replace our roof, and then have it reinstalled. From start to finish, the communication and the work performed was impeccable. Andrew was our lead communication contact, and he was amazing throughout the process. Excellent communication, explained everything clearly, always responsive, and as friendly as it gets. Carlos was the foreman of the project, and he and the crew did an amazing job. Again, great communication, exceptional work, and they left the site as clean as it was before they started. We are one happy solar and solar battery/powerwall customer. We, my husband and I, had tried to get solar two years earlier, in 2019. It was not the right time. We tried again in September 2021. Immediately, we noticed that some of the companies we met with in 2019 were no longer around. After doing our best to re-educate ourselves on all the considerations and concerns relating to purchasing solar panels and trying to find the best company, good panels and a good price, were ready to sign and agreement with another company for solar. We just wanted to double check their reviews and references before signing. And, we are so glad we did that, because we came across Ambrose Solar with 70+ 5-star reviews on Yelp. And, they were local! (I do not know why I was not able to find the company earlier.) We called Ambrose Solar. We scheduled a meeting with our sales person, Carson. Carson was a true partner for us from the beginning to the very end. He is one of the best sales people we have ever come across. Knowledgeable, professional, responsive, patient, kind, helpful and no-pressure. He patiently answered all, and I mean ALL, our questions. And, he was truly helping us to find the right solar solution for our situation for a fair price. We quickly got all our needs and concerns addressed with Carson and signed the agreement few days later in late September. The new electrical panel was installed by the company in October (we did not have to, but it made sense to replace our old panel). The solar panels were installed in early November and we had our solar approved and running in mid-November. We also decided to get the solar battery a.k.a. power wall, and signed another agreement for those with Ambrose Solar in mid-October. The power wall installation was done in December and we received the permission to operate right before the end of the year. All and all, this was a fantastic experience, the solar panel and power wall installation teams were very knowledgeable, professional and very considerate. Both installations were completed as scheduled. Fantastic job, guys! Thank you! Also, what was really wonderful to hear is how each of the crew members loved their job and everyone spoke very highly of the owner, Mr. Ambrose. Mr. Ambrose, even personally stopped by at the power wall installation to check with the team. (We did not know who he was, until after he left). It was really great to see that. The project manager for both installations, Noelle, was great. He was professional, no nonsense, let's get it scheduled, kind of person, yet still very kind and responsive. Janai at the office, where we went to make our payments, was really warm and professional. Charissa took great care of applying for the incentives from the power company. Every person at Ambrose Solar at the office, installation teams and team members, ownership and sales, who was in contact with us was very professional, knowledgeable and took care of their part. After the installation, Ambrose Solar kept monitoring our system and worked to make sure that every thing is working properly after the installation. At no time, were we left on our own until everything was working perfectly. We did have to call for help twice after the installation. Ambrose Solar was available and responsive and our questions were answered and resolved, which makes us feel safe just in case we need any help in the future. Based on our experience from beginning to end, it is clear to us that Ambrose Solar is committed having integrity and doing a great job for a fair price. They have very high work ethic and high level of professionalism. They have excellent communication at every touch point with their customer and it is clear that their internal communication is excellent. Absolutely ZERO complaints about Ambrose Solar. These guys are such an amazing group of people. I was in the market for SunPower panels (if you're going to invest in solar might as well get the best) and the company itself directed me to Ambrose Solar (already a good sign). The first rep, Carlos was super friendly, very informative and not pushy. We went over my options and I signed the contract.....a few days later I had buyers remorse and decided I didn't want everything I signed up for, guess what? They were understanding and let me think about it still, let me sign a new contract and it was smooth sailing from there! I have an older Bay Area home, so a lot of work needed to be done, they were very open about the kind of work I needed and the costs associated with it, which I appreciated. Every single person that came by or contacted me was super friendly, and easy to get a hold of. My main contact was Clarissa during the installation process. I was able to text her at random times of the day and she responded very quickly. She kept me informed on what was going on the entire time and the guys that installed everything were so patient, friendly and even took pictures of my panels upon my request! Even after finishing up, they called to make sure everything was working smoothly. Trust me, I've gotten a ton of work done on my home so far and I've had my share of shitty contractors and some good ones. I was considering getting solar for my home for quite some time. With NEM 2.0 ending in a couple months, I knew I had to either get it installed soon or wait and be satisfied with NEM 3.0. There were so many choices out there, and I didn't know where start and who to ask. This was due in part from the variety of experiences other people had. I did my due diligence, got on the internet and researched several local solar companies. One of the companies was Ambrose Solar. Long story short, Ambrose Solar was the highest rated on Yelp. I sent an inquiry via their website and was contacted immediately by Lani. Lani set me up for a consultation with Carlos, who explained in very simple terms how solar worked. Carlos was upfront about the cost of solar and explained exactly how much solar we needed based on our usage (and future usage for an EV). We then signed our Sunpower Agreement with Carlos. From there, Pamela put us in contact with Vincent, the project manager, who set us up with the pre-site inspection. Vincent worked with us throughout the installation and PG&E Interconnection. Vincent was easy to get in touch with, and he always returned my phone calls and email messages promptly. During the engineering and design phase, Stephanie helped us get our paperwork submitted to the city. After the installation was complete, Mark contacted us two weeks later to follow up on our solar project. I am completely satisfied with Ambrose Solar. I understand that they were extremely busy the first half of this year helping other customers install their solar before the NEM 2.0 deadline. Ambrose Solar in Vacaville - Truly Above and Beyond I am awestruck with the amazing team of Ambrose Solar. Two months ago, I wrote a review about my outstanding experience with them when my SunPower solar panels were installed. But this time, my review is for something else that I never expected. A few weeks ago, I was hospitalized for 9 days and had to reschedule my closing telecon with Paul K, one of their agents. During that time at the hospital, I received many text and Face Book messages from friends and relatives who were wishing me well. When I finally came home from the hospital and checked my mail box, there was an envelope that stood out. It was a greeting card with hand written messages from Pamela D., Chelsea, Noelle, Bri, Erics, Lani, Kelly, Liz and Aubrey. It is quite rare now-a-days that we receive actual greeting cards unless it is Christmas or a wedding. I am deeply touched by their gesture and thoughtfulness. They are the company I chose to provide my solar panel system, but now I feel like they are my family too because of the care and support they have extended to me. Our recent experience with Ambrose Solar was quite unsatisfactory, as we encountered a lot of issues during our home solar project. The Good Stuff: Albeit having lots of lows, there were some highs mixed in between during the project. Ambrose does have some talented individuals in the field. When it came to the actual install and other electrical needs for the project they delivered some excellent work. Secondly, Ambrose is very competitive when it comes to pricing. In our specific case, they were not our first choice due to another company offering a great price, but we were pleasantly surprised when Ambrose decided to match the offer as they had a more reputable online reputation and had far more positive reviews which had us excited to collaborate with them. The Bumpy Road / Customer Service Nightmare: Now, here comes the not-so-great part. Right from the beginning, we had a few questionable conversations with our initial salesperson, which set a tone for the rest of the project. Communication became a real challenge, not just with sales - as it continued on with our project coordinator as well, and it felt like pulling teeth to get updates from their team. Honestly, we often had to chase them down just to find out what was going on. There also wasn't just communication issues between us as the client and Ambrose, they had internal communication issues as well, as things we talked about with our project coordinator for our project were not properly passed onto the field teams and there were a handful of times jobs had to either be redone or fixed to properly be completed as discussed. The customer service experience was a major letdown. It seemed like they lost interest in providing satisfactory support after securing the project and us going with non-SunPower specific equipment. Whenever issues arose, we felt like we were left on our own to figure things out. It was very frustrating, to say the least. Wrapping Up: All in all, while Ambrose has a talented field team and do provide competitive pricing, the numerous issues we encountered during the project left us quite dissatisfied. The severe lack of communication and poor customer service seriously impacted our experience with the company. We do plan to add backup batteries to our system in the future, but we'll more than likely look elsewhere for that project addition. If Ambrose wants to maintain their reputation, they need to work on addressing these issues and providing a smoother, more professional experience for their clients. read more

I was assigned the best Project Coordinator there is - Hannah Flanagan - and finished up with the best Utility Coordinator anywhere - Stephanie Reiser! In today's world we have all had the experience of reaching out for help and finding no one there. Based on these two, you wouldn't find that at Ambrose. From the initial chat on Ambrose Solar's website to the inspection of our solar batteries, everything went like clockwork. The office team were outstanding. We were informed very clearly about the process from start to finish in texts, emails, and phone calls. They made it clear what each of the three payments was for and when it was due. There were no surprises. The installation crew was friendly, professional and worked diligently. The 2nd - and final day - Irvin Crews worked alone. He finished the installation, painted the conduits, and gave us a "tour". Everything looked so neat & tidy! Irvin is a very smart (it's a complicated installation!), pleasant and efficient guy. Ambrose was my third experience with a solar company and easily the best. My previous experience was with Solar City (bought by Tesla) and Vivint (bought by SunRun) and neither were pleasant. It seemed Ambrose was on top of everything - and punctual. Everything from phone calls to meetings to installation was on time or early. When I went for a quote, I contacted multiple companies and Ambrose got back to me the fastest. Tory gave me the presentation, and I was given multiple options that broke down the panel types, size of the system, and the price. It was easy to compare apples-to-apples and easy to make an informed decision. I was fortunate that I knew birds were a problem already, and they seamlessly added some bird deterrent to the install cost (net/wire around the panels). Even after the initial call, Tory sent even more options over to help me decide what worked best for me. My neighbors had some panels installed on their house (through a different company) and I watched as it took over a week to install it all. Ambrose did mine in one DAY. They showed up within 5 minutes of when they said they would and knocked it out quickly. They had to come back a couple times for fine tuning (connecting the system to the internet, getting inspector approval, tweaking some of the wiring), but it was all painless and I didn't even have to be home for it. After the wiring was set up, they came back, color matched the paint on my house, and painted the conduit to blend it in. Then gave me the extra paint. I didn't expect any of that but appreciated it. PGE was the biggest roadblock in the process, waiting for their approval. While waiting, Ambrose kept in constant communication with me and never left me in the dark. I received weekly texts (my preference) from Bri asking if I had any questions, and she was always quick to respond. We had one hiccup after the panels were installed and activated - some problem with how the app/website reported power usage. I reported it to Bri, and it was fixed by the NEXT MORNING. Other companies I dealt with before would take weeks. If anyone asks me for a recommendation on who to go with to get panels installed, Ambrose will be my go-to. read more

I had no understanding of how solar worked or how it was installed. I ask friends and neighbors and got enough info. to ask for cost and info. for my home. Ambrose came out to my home and explained everything to me and my wife. We were ready to move forward and they took charge and got the necessary permits delt with our HOA and and answered all questions that we had. We have solar for I year now. Our PG&E bill last year at this time was $271.00 the bill we received from PG$E last month was$28.17. I suggest if you have any question give Ambrose a call. Let me first start off by saying I'm an individual with high expectations which is why I normally do a lot things myself and when I cannot, I tend to depise having to search for a contractor because more often than not I end up disappointed with the results. My wife and I had contemplated solar for a number of years, however, upon hearing NEM 2.0 was likely to be replaced with NEM 3.0 which was less incentivizing for consumers, we decided to get serious and begin doing research. I knew as part of the process I did not want to enter into a power purchase agreement and that I wanted enough panels to at least cover 100% of our electricity usage but I also wanted to work with a company that seemed to have a solid track record in the business, a company I believed would be around years down the road should I need support all while being competitive from a price standpoint. After receiving quotes from two other companies, I came across Ambrose and let me just say here, I'm glad I decided to get one more bid from Ambrose. From the very beginning during my consultation with Adam, he was very detailed in explaining the benefits of solar, the various panels available while also listening to my requirements but two things stood out for me above all else, one the software being used in determining panel placement and productivity seemed much better and methodical than what I seen from other companies which gave me the confidence i may actual see the power production being quoted but more importantly, Adam was ready for any and all questions I had and trust me, I had a lot...did I also mention Ambrose was cheaper than the other bids I got with more panels. We decided to go with Ambrose and I was then able to experience one of the best parts of the entire project, my project coordinator Carissa. When I tell you anytime I had something that needed an answer or had a random question on the install process, monitoring or any other communication on the project, Carissa was quick to respond and did so each time pleasantly, professionally and with an exemplary level of customer service. Carissa is truly a pleasure. Our system has now been installed for six months and although we added panels above what was estimated to be necessary for 100% annual power production to accommodate a future electric vehicle that we currently do not have, I'd say it's very impressive that we have yet to use more energy than we produced in a given month, even during the month of November. In the end, the Ambrose team was able to meet my expectations and have provided my wife and I with a great system. Any bumps in the road we faced during the process, as tends to happen with projects of this magnitude, Ambrose quickly and to my satisfaction addressed and I can confidently say should I have any friends or family desiring solar, I'll definitely be referring them to Ambrose. read more

Our rep, David, was very helpful right from our first meeting. It can be daunting trying to understand the process and different options. David was never pushy or trying to sell us. We felt very comfortable asking A LOT of questions. He was genuine in trying to help us and he answered our questions via text and zoom when we needed to consult him while trying to make our decision. Once we made the decision to go with them, it was smooth sailing after - lots of communication from Ambrose staff on the next steps, asking us along the way how things were doing and if we had any questions. Only room for improvement that I can think of is we had one (or 2?) installers come inside our house without masks. I wish anyone coming into our house by default would know to wear a mask (and wear shoe coverings). On the plus side, I just needed to call the office staff once about these requests and it didn't happen again. Installation of our Sun Power solar system was timely and professionally completed without any issues. We only had to wait about a month, which included time for our loan application and county permit to go through. Installation was completed in one day without any mess. Their calculations for the power output of the system was perfect; we have had no PG&E bill for over a year and we have no true-up either! I'm not happy with the service , they miscalculated the amount of panels I need to have,now I have a high bill to pay to PG&E, because I'm using more electricity than the panels can make! I have several times to contact Carson but he didn't fix the problem! Very disappointed with the service! I don't recommend this company to anybody! read more
