I came because of their Groupon deal. At first calling, skeptical because of the unprofessionalism. When I got there they were very welcoming, the masseuse. I went for a couple's massage and brought my boyfriend's mom. The couple's massage went pretty well except the fact that it was "custom" and there was nothing custom. No one asked questions before hand or during. But regardless the massage was pretty good. Opposite of my boyfriend's mom, her masseuse continued rough after she asked many times. She figured it was what she needed (putting her trust in a professional) although she continuously warning her it was too hard. When we got home her back was all marked up! And today waking up her back is completely bruised. This is unacceptable. I am contacting them to speak to manager or owner. She is in intense pain because of it. read more

For the price point, the massage is great. It's less than $1 a minute and I think people who are giving low reviews need to take that into consideration. You get what you paid for - if you are looking for a silent, serene spa experience you need to go to a spa with licensed massage therapists where you will pay more. You cannot go to a place with a lower price point and expect the type of service that only a more expensive place can get you. There are spas just like amenity 85 all over the city and some of them are way worse - odd smells, constant group conversation, scratchy potentially unclean sheets and towels. If you can't put up with hearing some talking , you need to go to a more expensive place. I had a Groupon and no one was rude to me at all. I didn't even mention it until I was checking out and she merely asked for the small fee, marked it as redeemed on my app, and gave me my phone back. That's it. No one harassed me for more money, no one was rude, everything was pleasant. Of course I heard some chatter because it was Friday night and they were busy. Good for them! They deserve the business. I think these lower star reviews are people who do not realize that this is a lower priced massage parlor and as such, that means you won't have an experience like you're at a hotel spa. read more

My friend and I had a really unsettling experience here yesterday. First we went with a Groupon and with the prices they post on the wall it's not clear that the Groupon is even a deal of any sort. The massage and facial were good but neither the front desk woman who checked me in nor technicians spoke English so it was a little bit of a challenge. No big deal; if this was about the service alone I would have given them a 3 or 4. As others have mentioned one of the treatment areas is next to the check in area which is loud and distracting; maybe some white noise machines are in order. The place didn't seem overly dirty as others have reported except the bathroom which was in the basement and a little gross. But this review is really about the manager (?); the woman who was at the front desk when we checked out (there was also a man sitting in one of the pedicure chairs who also seemed to be an owner or manager who didn't speak but she was speaking to him giving him a blow by blow). I got out before my friend. I had already shown my Groupon so I told her i would wait for her. When she came out we asked if they had envelopes for tips. She didn't understand. I gave her my cash tip (a little worried that the technicians wouldn't get it) and while my friend and I were discussing her tip the manager started yelling at us "you've been here 2 hours that's not enough" etc etc. Of course a tip has nothing to do with how long you are in a place and we weren't finished yet; we would have left more but her behavior was a terrible way to leave what should have been a relaxing experience. She kept talking to the man then raising her voice at us. I know everyone is suffering right now but it was unnecessary, uncomfortable and unprofessional. We paid $118 each (includes tax) for the Groupon for a 1 hour massage and mini facial so it wasn't dirt cheap (and again the prices on the wall would have totaled about $80-90). Great spot! Really helpful staff and the massage was amazing. And it's reasonably priced compared to many other places I've been to.

I booked the couples massage for my sister and I. I have had full body massages in the past, but this experience was by far the best I have ever had. I went in all tight and sore from miles of walking and years of working behind a desk. When I left, I could actually walk with out pain, and I could turn my neck without restriction or pain. Got the $79, 60-Minute Couples Massage (Swedish) from Groupon. This is about as good a deal as you will find in NYC. Massage was very good, and people were friendly. Important to remember how cheap the deal is. I say that because you are not getting a front to back luxury experience. My masseuse took a few calls during the massage (she was also the front desk person). You could hear people right outside the curtain, and traffic noise at times. We booked a 1:00pm but they made an error in booking so we had to wait until 1:30pm. Overall none of that stuff bothered me personally, but I could see how it may upset someone. For the money- I felt like it was a really good massage and I left feeling better! We tipped $30 total ($15 per masseuse). read more

I had a fabulous experience at Amenity spa 85! This is a no frills "spa" but the massage was just as good as a high priced spa! The prices are super reasonable, the facility is clean, the massage bed was comfortable (and heated!!) and the staff was friendly. Anna gave me my massage and it was perfect!
