The water was finding its way through an electrical box on the first floor ceiling; this is a situation that needed attention immediately. I've dealt with many contractors and there were not many that wowed me. Having remodeled the entire house before which took approximately 6 months to complete, I learned a lot. A couple weeks ago, had a tankless installed and with my awesome luck had a slab leak. A couple companies came out and quoted me to re-pipe the section that was leaking. Did some research and found Ameri-Cal and a couple other highly rated companies. I called two companies and Paul from Ameri-Cal called me back the same day. The other company did not. Paul came to my house on a Sunday and gave me a quote. Paul's knowledge and confidence had me at the gecko. I normally don't trust many contractors. Paul had mentioned that the only time slot he had was around Thanksgiving week, which would have been horrible for me. He calls me on Tuesday letting me know he had a open slot on Wednesday. I took it. My house is approximately 2800 sq ft, 2 story with 3 full baths. Paul said it will be done in 1 day for the re-pipe. Wednesday came and they finished. It was a lot of work since he had to run 2 additional lines for the hard water since I'm going to have a water softener installed. Next day the inspector came and everything said on yelp was correct. The inspector said that this was one of the best work he's ever seen. There were some stuff done that he was wondering how they managed. I also had another contractor here that was working on my garage and he said the same thing. Anyways, Ameri-Cal did a lot of extra work for me and did not charge me a single penny more. They fixed 2 previous contractor's work at no charge to me. They definitely take pride in their work and does not nickel and dime. Chapter 2: The scariest thing with re-piping is seeing all those darn holes in the walls. You tell yourself the house will never look the same. Paul kept on mentioning that his patch and texture guys are good. I was questioning it. Well, he was correct. There were sections that they did where I asked myself if there were holes cut there. Remember in the 4th paragraph I mentioned him fixing the other contractor's work? Well, he fixed the other guy's texture where it matches now. What a great company! I have used their services for multiple tasks at my house and they always exceed my expectations. On the first major task, I had a major blockage in my toilet. I had called another company to come out and snake it, which they did and got their oger stuck. Which meant they now had to pull my toilet(which of course had a cost even though it was their issue) and they let me know I had to pretty much break concrete and walls and repipe all of it. They gave me a quote, which was extremely high! I got a second quote from another plumbing company that was pretty much the same. Then came Ameri-Cal. They came down the same day, assessed the situation, let me know everything they needed to do(which was the same as all the other guys) but then quoted me 30% lower! I was sold! They did an absolutely fantastic job and in a timely manner. Couldn't be happier with their service. Next came a slab leak in my garage. My first call was to Ameri-Cal. They came by and gave me great advise and let me know all my options. They landed up re-routing my line, which they did extremely quickly even when finding out they had to re route 2 different sections(because my house is old and plumbed oddly) and they didn't charge me a dollar more. Since they had to make quite a few cuts in the stucco and drywall, they had one of their guys come out the very next day to do all the patch work. He was there all day but his work shows that he knows what he was doing and takes pride in making sure it looks perfect. Extremely Happy with all of the work(and there was a lot of it) They made sure they covered everything and cleaned up at the end, didn't even look like someone was there. Last, both bathroom sinks were clogged to no end and would not drain at all! Once again they assessed the situation and gave me a few options. I landed up jetting the lines, which they did a fantastic job at. Everything works properly! They even went the extra mile and stuck a camera down the main, just to make sure that was all clear. They showed me exactly where some minor roots were, and the view down to the sewer just to show everything else was clear. This guys are extremely professional, polite and know what they are doing. They are not there to try and "con" you into other services, they tell it like it is. And even better, the original quote they had given me was spot on, even though there was extra work for them to do I did not get charged. We had our home repiped in August. Ameri-Cal was used by our meticulous neighbors. True paying for plumbing is never fun but they got the job done. It included patching and drywall repairs which was an important cost saving item. We live in a two story home.There as a maze of air conditioning to get around but the man in charge figured it out like a puzzle. I selected Ameri-Cal out of the 3 bids I received mainly for the sales pitch - Toby was the most "on it" guy with knowledge and information he provided. The actual repipe was a big project but Alex, the job foreman, kept his crew going and finished at the end of the day. Alex and the guys were courteous and answered any of my questions. It seemed like a big mess but in actuality, they were preventing a mess. When they tore down the plastic and ripped up the paper flooring protection, the house looked good. After the inspection, which was delayed due to the July 4th holiday, the drywall patchers protected the house in the same way and even mopped up the kitchen floor at the end of their day. Because the PEX pipe went between the two stories of my home, it affected only the ceiling. The patchers finished off our hand-troweled ceiling and it matched perfectly with the texture and color so very little painting is necessary - just small areas behind each toilet and a little in the garage. I did provide my own shower sets because I knew I could save some money rather than using the sets they provide. Having the new hardware with the even pressure flow, the repiping has already made a big difference in our plumbing. read more

Also, if you've got an old hot water heater or shower valves that are more than 10 years old, this is the time to upgrade. The plumbing is already open for the re-pipe. We had three quotes from different companies for our re-pipe project, Ameri-Cal was on the high end of the quotes, but it was highly recommended by a family friend, so we hired Ameri-Cal with high expectation. Now the project has been completed, we are very pleased with our choice of the contractor, they exceeded our expectation. Getting a slab leak is never fun, and to make it worse we got one a week before my daughters wedding. With company coming to stay at our home, we needed the extra bathroom and couldn't wait to repipe after the wedding. A friend of ours used Ameri Cal and recommended them. We interviewed about four companies and also like Ameri Cal so we went with them They understood our tight schedule and Paul made it happen. The 1st day a crew of eight came in and knocked out the re piping. They did an excellent job of putting plastic up and cleaned up when they left. The next day the inspector came by and passed us. The 3rd and 4th days the crew came in to patch and spray the drywall. The house was a mess (unavoidable) but they cleaned everything up when they left. Our wedding company arrived the same day they finished and couldn't tell anyone had been in our home! They were amazing! One problem was they had to dig up a small tree in the front to run the pipe. They replanted it but it immediately died. I contacted Paul and told him about it. He said to replace it and to send him the bill and they would pay for it. To say that I was completely satisfied with my experience with this company is an understatement. I will tell you why. The hubs and I bought a fixer upper about 6 years ago, with all the best laid plans to renovate quickly and relatively painlessly. Well, like I said, that was 6 years ago. We are finally in the ending stages of the process, with several projects on the docket and finally have the money to do them. After a pretty dismal experience with our painting company, I was leery about hiring "professionals", feeling that all they do is lie in order to get your trust and money, only to screw you over, leaving you wanting for real communication, good work ethic, and a little honesty. A full re-pipe was in the plans and the hubs met with 3 different companies to get bids. The prices were pretty equitable, so we were going to discuss the pros and cons over the weekend and make our decision and hopefully start the process in a couple of weeks. Well, you know how it goes. The house had other plans. On a Friday morning, our neighbor woke us up reporting water spouting from under the house. Yep, a busted water main. You've got to be kidding me. We called a plumber, who came out right away and wanted to charge us $3000.00 to replace it. Um...thanks but no thanks. The next call was to Ameri-Cal, who the hubs had met with a couple days prior to bid on the re-pipe. They had someone out a few hours later. On a Friday. Guess who got the job? From the beginning, the guys they brought in were nice, professional, and hard working. Two managers came out that day to check on the process. They were able to give us water in time for the weekend and they were able to complete the re-pipe the following Tuesday. It was completed in one day. Several workers were out for 10 hours doing the job. The next day was a holiday, so the inspector couldn't come out until Thursday. Ameri-Cal arranged that with the city, along with all the permits. The patch guy came out on Thursday also and completed his part in one day. He did a great job patching all the damaged areas from the re-pipe. Very clean and professional work. They did everything they said they would do, when they said they would do it, and maintained regular communication with the hubs on progress or potential issues. Just had Ameri-Cal do a full re-pipe of 3 bedroom, 2 bath house with Uponor PEX-a. I highly recommend that if you are considering re-piping your house to give the team at Ameri-Cal a call. Taking on a house re-pipe is not something to take lightly as it involves a lot of coordination, clearing out your under sink cabinets, providing clear access to walls that need to be opened to re-pipe. Plan on not having any water for a full day. Just so you all know and it is mentioned in another review, your walls will be opened up in places. The drywall/patch team at Ameri-Cal are professionals and did a great job patching up a exposed bedroom wall to paint ready condition. Ameri-Cal will ensure they get the proper permit(s) from City Hall and this job will require a city inspector to sign off on the job. The inspector was impressed with the job done here. From making the initial call to Tobi, meeting with Paul the field rep, to working with Martin the lead foreman on the job, the whole process went smoothly. Paul was very thorough in the walk through and explained in detail how the process would go. Answered any questions I had. The whole crew are professionals and take pride in their work, and respect your house, taking care to put up protective plastic barriers and lay floor protection to minimize dirt/dust in your house. I was amazed the morning of the job by the arrival of what appeared to be a small army advancing on my house to get this job done. They all knew what needed to be done and just did it like a well oiled machine. Martin would make sure that if any questions or issues came up he would keep me informed. The whole team was great to work with. The crew as very impressive as part of the job was to relocate the water heater and to provide a hook up for a soon to be installed water filtration/sofener system. Nicely done. In this process, it was mentioned to me that the water heater had developed rust deposits from the old pipes. Water heater was about 6 years old, when it was time to start it back up, found that the starter unit over the years had failed. Being that this was New Years holiday time and not wanting to be without hot water, Tobi came through for us to have his plumber (Andrew) come out to see what can be done. Determined that water heater needs to be replaced. Tobi and Andrew got a new water heater and got it installed ASAP. Tobi was always responsive and proactive in communicating with me. I just had plumber Isaac Gonzalez out for to clear a clogged kitchen clean-out. After cleaning everything out he went above and beyond noticing that one side of our vegetable sink was still draining a little slow. He then rebuilt the drain on that side of the sink cleaning everything out and its like new! We have been using Isaac for maintenance and upgrades ever since Ameri-Cal re piped our whole house a few years back. Well after 3 days of trying to connect they sent out Victor one of their technicians. He was able to complete 2 of the tasks needed, a camara and jetting of my main line sewer. However at a greater cost than his comptition $795 other quotes were $200 less. The other task needed is a replacement of 8 ft of that line. Now he stated another employee would be comeing in two days to give me an estimate to do the work. Well it has now been two weeks and numerous calls to the company and no reponse at all. So assuming they don't need the work I won't be calling them back. In addtion Victor left his very expensive chargeing system for the camera behind, now they don't need the work or their tools? Now I choose these guys and expected to pay more for better service based upon the previous so called great reviews. So either those reviews are bogus or my service has been the exception. We highly recommend Ameri-Cal Repipe. Granted, this was something we didn't want to do, but our home being 38 years old, and this being our second copper pipe leak incident in a relatively short time, we figured it was required. Paul came out and did a great job of explaining the process and gave a good estimate about $300 cheaper than our other contender for the same material and labor. We decided to go with a Pex repipe instead of copper. It was cheaper and seemed to have very few issues. The repipe crew (Jorge foreman) arrived right on time (7:30 AM) and began to work masking the whole house (2 story, 2500 sq. ft.) to prevent dust and dirt. By 4:00 PM the repipe was complete and the water on. I couldn't believe how neat the place was after they left considering the amount of work they did. True there were a number of holes in the walls but the replaster crew was scheduled to come the day after the city inspector which was tomorrow . We had a few minor issues: 1) when reconnecting one of our older valves, the nut holding it in place cracked and had to be replaced. 2) The city inspector noticed a few minor issues, none requiring the replaster to be stopped. The replaster crew came early the next day. Toby sent a man out in the morning to fix the valve part before the plasters patched that hole and that guy also addressed the minor issues brought up by the inspector. The replaster crew left the house exceptionally clean considering all they had to do. Realize that the homeowner is responsible for repainting the fixes, but the texture job done by the crew seemed to match the wall texture quite well. After three or four day,s we noticed there was a hole in the garage wallboard that hadn't been patched. We called Toby and a man was sent out and it was fixed within two days. We would definitely recommend Ameri-Cal Repipe to our friends if they need such a service. read more

After several pin hole leaks in our 28 year old copper piping, we did some research and decided to re-pipe with PEX. Using yelp as a guide, we found three local companies with 5 star ratings to call for quotes. Only two of the three called back and booked an appointment with us. One of the two was Ameri-Cal. We also contacted our regular plumbing company that we have been using for repairs. The first company salesman came out and gave us what we thought was a reasonable quote which included drywall repair. He then stated that his company would not repair the few existing drywall holes from our previous leak repairs, but if we wanted to, we could offer his drywall guy a "side job" to make those repairs. During the visit he also said that his company encourages potential customers to seek out other quotes before deciding whom to hire because his company was the most expierienced in repiping with Uponor PEX. After completing his inspection/sales pitch he quickly became a car salesman and asked what would it take to sign a contract right away The next person we spoke with was Paul from Ameri-Cal. Paul was the complete opposite of the first guy in demeanor. He explained the entire process to us and was just as knowledgeable in Uponor PEX as the first guy. Paul not only gave a lower quote, he said that his drywallers would repair the few existing holes at no extra charge. On the day of the re-pipe Jorge and his crew showed up at 7:30 as promised. They quickly went to work sealing up our house with plastic sheeting and floor protection and stayed on task throughout the day. By 4:00, our house was completely re-piped and cleaned up. Jorge then took his time and conducted a walk through with us and explained what he and his crew had done. The next day, the drywallers showed at the time promised and sealed up our house before starting work. By the end of the day, our drywall was completed. They are very good at what the do. they matched the existing knock down finish perfectly and after the repairs dried, you could not tell where the holes had been. After our 4th slab leak in 5 years, our insurance company told us to re-pipe in 12 months or lose our HO Insurance. YIKES, but what can you do? When we had our 5th slab leak during that year, we got VERY busy looking for a trustworthy company with GREAT pricing. Sounds impossible? NO! It's AMERI-CAL! These guys gave us a quote over $1000 lower than the next lowest company. They did the whole job in a day, cleaned up after themselves, RE-TEXTURED the walls and ceilings (some other quotes clearly excluded that), and included a terrific warranty to top it off. They did GREAT follow-up returning promptly to take care of a little touch-up we all missed. The city inspector said HE was impressed. Instead of a review, here is a letter that I sent to my HOA; I just wanted to convey some positive feedback about the repipe work going on around the community, as I am sure mostly only negative feedback ever comes back! In any case, my experience has only been positive and I would like to share. Firstly, having dealt with a few leaks at my unit, I realized the importance of having this work done. Yes it is a pain for a few days, but at least you can plan for it, unlike a slab or pinhole leak! Toby has worked hard in what must be a thankless task in getting people organized for this, but he worked with us and got us on a schedule, with us and our neighbors. Everything about the process was explained well, and I also had an extra walk through with Alex who was first class, explaining everything in more detail. The day of the repipe went perfectly, they arrived on time and did a great job of covering up and treating our home with dignity. After the job Alex walked through all the improvements with us and gave us some tips. The inspection went ahead the next day as promised, and Toby got the plasterers working on my unit today as he was well aware of my children's difficulties with dust allergies. We appreciate the speed in which this has taken place and will allow us to get back into the house and back to 'normal' as soon as possible to help us minimize the disruption to our young kids. Overall we are very happy in what at best is a difficult but essential improvement to our homes! This group takes its time, protects the contents of your home and cleans up after they are done to the point where you can't tell they were there (other than the well done patchwork in the walls.) I hired Ameri-Cal to do a full copper re-pipe of my home. Toby and Paul were really great to work with. I had an emergency and needed to schedule a last-minute re-pipe on a Sunday. Even though they weren't open on Sundays, they found a crew to do the work with 2 days notice. Their crew was great. I'm guessing 10-12 people rolled in on Sunday morning and went straight to work. They had all of the re-piping done in one day and we had water that night. The second day the inspector came out and signed off the work without issue. I was very impressed with this company I had a leak underneath the slab. I just wanted them to put a bandaid but I need knew eventually their will be more leaks in a few months so I had my property have a complete repiping job. It took 7 guys to complete the job in 4 days. They were professional as they minimize dust blowing everywhere by using plastic coverings. One of the most honest and knowledgeable plumbing company that I've dealt with. I had an issue with no water coming out of my shower head. I called a plumbing company nearby to come take the look. The plumber said because my pipes were old I had to re-pipe my entire house. He quoted me $3800 just to re-pipe the main lines. Since it was a lot of money, I was referred from my cousin who is in real estate to give Ameri-Cal Repipe call to also get a quote from them. William who I spoke with was very knowledgeable and after just hearing my problem, immediately knew that my issue was just a bad shower head! I took off my shower head and water was just rushing out! Again, I thought it was an easy fix, but the first two companies I called told me I needed a whole new water heater, when mine was only 5 years old. It would have been a couple of thousand dollars for a new one. But we didn't give up and called up one more company and it was Ameri-Cal. They told us the part would only cost a couple of hundred dollars and is an easy fixed. They came and fixed it in an hour. I was amazed and ever since then they were my favorite company to fix all my major plumbing problems. Ameri-Cal Company is very trust worthy and never tries to over sell. The time I called before this last job - I had assumed we needed major re-piping in our kitchen, but when Toby came out from Ameri-Cal to take a look at it, he said there was nothing needed to be done as long as our sink was draining fine - which it is and still is.
