Cameron from the Austin office came out to diagnose an intermittent problem with the vent fan on our Samsung microwave. The vent fan would randomly turn on. Unfortunately the problem did not occur while Cameron was here, as seems to be often the case with intermittent problems. I found Cameron to be pleasant, knowledgeable and very helpful in discussing the problem and potential ways to resolve it. I've had them out multiple times and had great service each time. Nathan is thorough and communicative. I dealt with broken wall microwave/oven combo for over a year with no luck from GE technicians or ABC appliance repair- all said they can't fix it or would fix one thing, then would break again a week later. Nathan found problem, fixed it, and it's been working ever since. I've used them for other repairs since. I would definitely recommend to anyone! im not sure why they only have 2 star average, I've used three other local appliance repair companies and America's Appliance has always been 100% for me and price is competitive as anyone else. I paid for a technician to come diagnose and repair an issue with my washing machine. The technician claimed that my water filters to my washing machine were clogged. He cleaned them, replaced them, said that my washer had been fixed and then left my house. 1 hour later I noticed water flooding into my closet. I called them to complain, and they sent the repair technician back to my house, and the repair technician took photos of my house but did not attempt to fix anything else. I asked him if they would refund my money ($185), and he said "no" as he walked out my door. I have never had such a bad experience with any company in my life. My home is damaged. I called the company again and spoke with a man who claimed to be in charge of the technician that came to my home, and he was incredibly rude. He refused to tell me the name of his company or any other information. I hired them because I thought they had a good looking website. NEVER hire a company just because they have a nice website. read more

My LG dryer would not shut off, called America's appliance. They sent a service technician out the next day for an eval, $80. Was told they could replace the control panel/board for $355. I looked up the price for this item based on the model number, $140-150, so they would charge $200 for labor, seems extremely excessive. I highly encourage you to shop around! read more

We had America's Appliance out in March to replace the compressor in our beverage center at a cost of over $300. In September, six months later, the compressor went out again. We called them back to see if the part was under warranty and were told it did have a warranty. They called back the next day to see if we wanted them to come out and then told us the warranty was only for 90 days. A $300+ part should definitely have at least a one year manufacturer's warranty. In addition, they were very rude, and we certainly won't do business with them again. read more

The oven in our American Range brand range wasn't working: no ignition, no heat. I phoned America's Appliance Repair, and they sent a technician to investigate. The technician's name is Benjamin (Big Ben), who diagnosed the problem, ordered the new part that was required, and fixed the problem within 24 hours of my initial call. (That last part is important, because some repair shops want 4 days just to provide an estimate.) The total cost was $297 and well worth it. read more

Had an issue with a flickering burner on a Vulcan oven at a rental property. The technician was at the house for less than 45 minutes and the total bill with tax was $375. American had collected my Credit Card info before the visit and now I know why. They replaced 2 "glow burners" and when I asked them for an itemized receipt with the part numbers I was told it would be unethical for them to provide that to me? I looked up what I would assume are the parts replaced and they would be well under $80 for both (probably more like $30 total). Even with a healthy mark up on the parts (lets say 200%), labor is close to $200 an hour? When I was contacted by the field service rep for refusing to sign the online receipt, I was admittedly quite upset and the conversation escalated quickly. I said somethings that I probably should not have and the field service rep told me I needed to leave emotion out of this, to which I agreed. He then proceeded to deliver an incoherent rant with a highly elevated tone about how my issue was solved and that I should be grateful for the service they provided. This went on for a good 5 minutes and when I finally stopped him, I told him that either he send me an itemized receipt or we will never do business with them again. That seemed to be acceptable as I have not heard back from them. America's Appliance, please enjoy the payment and know that I will never do business with your company again. read more

I don't want to go too far in the weeds, as much as I would like to. Let me preface this review by saying, STAY AWAY! This company is a scam. I called America's Appliance a week ago to fix our dishwasher. They came out the next day and found some shards of glass in the drain pump. They cleaned the pump and we paid them for the service. Ok all good. Then the trouble starts. The dishwasher ran only one cycle in 48 hours following the service call and then stopped working again. I called and was told the tech was on vacation for a week and they would come out when he returned. Long wait but ok. So the tech returned 7 days later and checked the pump and found additional glass he missed. After clearing the pump, he then says, ok that will be an additional $100. Wait what? I told him he was just out here and the dishwasher only worked one day before it stopped again. He said, sorry we charge for every call, regardless. Great, so now I'm out another $100. After the repair guy leaves, I call the main number in Dallas and speak with a "manager". I'm told he was sorry to hear what had happened and he would work on a refund, he just needed to contact the service tech to get background information. 10 minutes later, he calls back and says he's sorry but he cannot refund the 2nd service call and hangs up. I'm not prone to leaving bad reviews as I know things happen, but I have to say, I have NEVER in my life felt as "ripped off" as I did. If I can prevent even ONE person from NOT using this company and save them the heartache and cash, then I'll feel better about what happened. Please learn from my experience, do NOT use this company for your appliance repair needs. Where does a person start, first I have choice home warranty so I had no choice on who they called. I was scheduled an appt. on 4/30/2019 ,that came and went with no one showing up , they did not call (either) but just never came. Then they stated they re-scheduled for 5/2/2019, they came out and stated it was the control board and they had to order the part which would be a week?? in this day and time? A WEEK????? I have had horrible luck with appliance repair since I bought my house 7 years ago - hard to get anything scheduled, exorbitant pricing, etc. I called America's Appliance a couple years ago because my dryer wasn't heating. They came out the next day, fixed it in about thirty minutes, and charged under $200. I have since used them to repair the dryer a second time (my housekeeper doesn't clean out the lint and it overheats, blowing a fuse) and also to repair my dishwasher, which was uncontrollably spewing water and flooded my kitchen. Each time they were, quick, reasonably priced, and did a great job. Jeremiah and Nathan are also both really nice and personable and I felt comfortable having them in my home . When I first called this company to come out and fix our side by side water and ice dispenser on 1/11/17, I was happy that Nathan could come by the same day, however, that is where happy leaves us, against my judgement, Ronnie prepaid paid. I do understand if you have to order the part, however, when you tell me you have the part, but can't fix for a few more days, as I hear children in the background, yes, you should wait until Ronnie can be here. But then to add salt in the wound, when returned to a "FIXED" dispenser, after more than a week, I go to dispense water, it doesn't turn off, I go to try and stop it and the frame around dispensing area falls off, So, after telephone call and no response, I was hoping on some little elves to just come and fix it while I was sleeping and I was not about let Ronnie fix it, so this time, I called and asked for a supervisor, give him the info, then of course, Nathan called, because I was speeding around the city, I texted him Ronnie's info to call. A few days later, I go to get water, it WORKS ! But the frame still comes off and then I find out HE CHARGED $$ us for the PART that was working fine before he took apart the dispenser and left the parts on the kitchen island for more than a week. Called America's appliance and they respond immediately. The initial visit just to check the dishwasher was 97 dollars. I was shocked by the total cost to replace the pump in a two year old dishwasher which was an additional 286 dollars. I suggest to shop around and ask what will be the cost to diagnose the problem. read more

On a Friday evening my refrigerator's drainage system iced up and caused water to overflow, collect at the bottom and spill out onto my kitchen floor. I called America's Appliance at a late hour and they guided me through protective steps until they could arrive in the morning. That Saturday morning David arrived. He was a calming source because he was well trained and knew what he needed, such as a basket for the food, towels for the water collection points, etc. I turned over my kitchen to him, an when I returned in an hour he had thawed the drainage pipes, fixed a defective valve and neatly repacked my frozen food. I signed off and the old fridge has worked sweetly ever since. I was most impressed with the professionalism, the courtesy and the quick pace at which David worked. He left a company card on the front of my fridge, and if need be I will call them again. read more

DO NOT USE!!! Our washer went out and I called on Monday afternoon at 1:30pm to schedule an appointment. I was told they could come on Tuesday between 1-3pm. I provided my cell phone number for contact even though this was for my business. I got a call on Tuesday morning from someone saying they wanted to set up an appointment to come out to service the washer. I was confused because I already had an appointment set up between 1-3. The woman on the phone said she had no idea what I was talking about and they did not have me on the schedule but that they could probably come out earlier than 1pm. Great! I was told I would get a call back.....waited a few hours and no call. I called them and was told that they would not be able to come out until tomorrow, Wednesday. She said she went to listen to the call I talked about from Monday.....Well I guess she heard that I was correct because I was then told that she was not the one I talked to on Monday and they did not have room for us today. They came when they said they were coming and repaired the washer quickly and efficiently. I asked them to check the dryer just to be sure it was okay, which I thought it was, after they got here and they didn't have any weird looks, etc. (Another repair company wouldn't do it without checking with their boss.) Do not use this company. They are unreliable. Our refrigerator went out the Sunday before Thanksgiving. On Monday morning we called America's Appliance. They made an appointment to come Monday afternoon. I took off work to meet the repair person. At 4:30 they called and said they were not coming after all, but could come Wednesday. They put us on standby for Tuesday. They did not come Tuesday and when we called to confirm Wednesday appointment, they said they had no record of appointment and could only put us on standby for Wednesday evening. So, 3 days wasted. No repairs to refrigerator and Thanksgiving is tomorrow. If you need appliance repair, call someone else. read more
