    Greek Salad

Walt from Walt's Adventures reporting from the Americana in Santa Rosa, California. This small eatery has a small outdoor seating with a pleasant indoor atmosphere. We were fortunate to find street parking and were directed to our table inside upon arriving. Our selections were presented well and all prepared to our satisfaction. I would recommend their salads and BBQ burger. Their fries were ok. Regrettably, there seemed to be a miscommunication with the staff resulting in a bit of a wait to have our order taken or to receive drink refills. Besides this hiccup, I would recommend their Americana.

It's warmer in the back and still a nice bright space

Delicious food, attentive service, sweet ambiance! Farm to table restaurants are more common in Sebastopol and Sonoma than Marin (where I live). Yes, they can be more expensive but there are some more reasonably priced items and the quality was excellent. We shared a Huevos Rancheros and Avocado Toast. The huevos had a more smoky, dark beans and sauce which was unique and flavorful. I could tell the corn tortillas under were thicker than most and had a wonderful chewy quality and the eggs were more orangey yolked. I licked my plate. Yum. Avocado toast had local bakery Red Bird sourdough toast creatively done with pickled onions, radishes and more. Land and Water coffee, which I loved. Our server was a bit overwhelmed with a busier than usual Monday crowd (a school holiday) but she kept in touch and refreshed our coffee. Atmosphere is pleasant and I'll be back to try more! It's not in my budget for an everyday experience but a great treat for a couple times a month.

Great chiliquiles and the Sebastopol Omelette.

Had an excellent breakfast here of chiliquiles and the Sebastopol Omelette. All local and fresh.

Special of the day: Fish sandwich with a side

The last time I was here, it was the Gypsy Café so I was looking forward to lunch at this relatively new spot. The majority of our group of five had eaten breakfast here before and they had all been favorably impressed. It must have been a good day for fish as the daily specials included a fish sandwich and fish and chips. We sat in the booth near the rear of the restaurant. It was quiet and we could hear ourselves talk. Our server left a bottle of water on the table for us. It's always nice to be able to serve ourselves rather than have to wave someone down. They do have a couple small tables out front on the sidewalk in addition to several tables inside. Now for the food.... All of our dishes looked beautiful. Three of us ordered the fish sandwich, which came with a side. I ordered the green salad and two friends ordered the coleslaw. I was sitting next to the person who ordered the fish and chips and it looked delicious! Our other friend ordered the kale Caesar salad and it was a fair amount of fresh greens with croutons, shredded Estero Gold cheese, and sliced red onion. I felt it would have been nicer if they served a roll or a piece of hearty bread with his salad. The fish on my sandwich was cooked perfectly and there was a layer of red cabbage coleslaw in between the bun. Keep your napkin nearby as you will need it! The green salad that accompanied my sandwich was fresh and crisp and delightful. My dining companions mentioned that they wished their coleslaw had less of a mayo-like ingredient and a bit more seasoning. Ambiance inside is pleasant and clean. Parking can be tricky on Main Street but there is parking across Main Street in a public lot.

Awesome cafe. Family owned small business. Friendly chef who cooks with quality local ingredients. We had the chicken sandwich and Americana salad again! Too good.

I ordered the potatoes and eggs. It came eithbdpinich. It was okay but I'm not sure I'll go back. It wasn't anything special. The waitperson was good. The cafe was cute.

I love eating this food, I love it, I wish I could do it more often but speaking my truth it is expensive. But I will also say it is worth it! Everything is so fresh, the ambience is perfect for a brunch diner, it isn't freezing in here it's actually warm! When did restaurants stop turning on the heat? Anyway, delicious delicious food but be ready to spend $80 on breakfast .

    Crab sandwich and onion rings
    Victoria B.

It's was ok. I wanted a crab sandwichand they had one so I was happy about that because I was heading to the coast to get one however, I was very hungry so I settled. Although it presents well it's really not that flavorful and the onion rings were too greasy just not for me. It wasn't horrid but for the price I expected much more than shreds of crab soaked in whatever that sauce it was covered in.

    Patty melt, absolutely delicious
    janet l.

I had a lovely lunch yesterday with three of my friends for birthday celebrations. I had a patty melt which was absolutely delicious with onion rings. My other friend had a fried chicken sandwich and the other one had the mushroom sandwich. All of our meals were absolutely delicious. We had freshly squeezed oj screwdrivers, also yummy. Our server was wonderful. He was new to the job and he did a fantastic job serving us and taking care of our needs which weren't very many. But he was very attentive because the service was awesome! You will not be disappointed if you check out the sebastopol location. Bon appetit!

It comes with bacon, but I usually swap it for apple chicken sausage and they have no problem accommodating. There's plenty of indoor seating plus outdoor tables if you want to sit and people watch. Started off funky with the U-Be Trippin which was an interesting mix, not sure the sesame seeds won me over, but a clever drink. My wife got the Creamsicle which she liked. I was expecting to feel blah about it. As we went in I saw they named the chef on the outside window, and I thought hmm, interesting. Going in we were greeted by the hostess whose smile was a little too deliberate, maybe it's a required smile enforced by the bosses which can sometimes not be the best feels for the customer. Bosses, please don't do that. But still she was nice and we were seated and helped quickly. They have a great menu with lots of enticing options, it was looking good already. Then we found out they had crab cake eggs benedict! So I skipped out on my other options, pancakes or huevos rancheros, and we split that. The prices seemed kind of high but then where is that not the case these days? Given the feel of the place it seemed fair to me. The food came and it was amazing. Generous amount of crab and it was real crab, with perfect eggs and sauce on a gorgeous english muffin that was... stay with me here I'm not trying to get fancy with prose here, let me just reuse what I said above: amazing. Somehow the muffin was both crisply toasted in butter to a crunch on top (of the muffin), yet amazingly chewy (in a good way) on the bottom. And not soggy, the sauce was well placed on top of the egg above the crab cake. The service was friendly and in all ways perfect. Food came quickly. The place was not noisy or perfumey. My only regret is I can only tell you about that one dish since that's what we shared. I was too full to finish the little smash-grilled baby potato discs so we took some to go.
