The Mountain View shop of America's Tire Co gave me an appointment to have a tire pressure sensor replaced, a quick 10-minutes job supposedly. The shop did NOT honor the appointment. A friend had recommended America's Tire to me 5 years ago, when it was time for me to get new tires after the factory installed ones had worn out. America's Tire had a nice selection of many different brands and tires (and one of them had a mail in rebate and reasonable price). So I went with that one. America's Tire also claimed free Airchecks, Flat Tire Repair, Tire Rotation; which I had found a claim a bit too good to be true, honestly. But the Yelp reviews were very positive and I trusted them. Now the good part is, I've been a regular customer at this particular branch, and at each visit I am absolutely delighted by their professional and friendly service. I've never encountered any problems. Reservations work like a clock. Their staff are amazing. Their service is reasonably fast. They don't try to upsell things, bother you with this and that to sell on the side. They honor their free tire rotation, air check & pump. The tires didn't have any issues so far, going strong; no nails or screw accidents (knock on wood); but even if that happens, I know I have a place I can go bring in my car with absolute trust and confidence. I had purchased continental tires with 50k miles warranty at discount tire in Arizona and the tires wore out within the warranty period in 2 yrs. Came to America's tire on El Camino Real to avail my warranty and they wouldn't honor it. Gave me some peanuts for discount to buy new ones claiming I have to rotate the tires at their place to keep warranties valid. I do not have time to do multiple different maintainance on my car. I have the tires rotated when I get oil changes every 7.5k miles. I offered them maintainance records and they wouldn't accept. Avoid at all costs if you will be using warranties. read more

I replaced 4 tires two month ago at this place and today I noticed strange noise goes from the front, say I was shocked means say nothing, 2 mag nuts were missing from the front wheel and all three nuts which left have been loosened!! After that I checked all other wheels and all mag nuts where loosened! I mean are you serious? I'm glad I didn't loose the wheel on the highway. I had a bad experience at this location. Dropped off my car to get the tires looked at. Picked it up and there were no notes on the car of what they had done. Maybe they didn't even do anything. My suspicion was that I needed new wheels. Would've been nice to know. The problem seemed that they were understaffed and management had left early for the day leaving the employees to fix everything. One of the tires in my husband's car was leaking air so he made an appointment online. They were especially busy day after New Year's but the crew was hustling the entire time to cover the increased workload. Manager helped with check-in so the line was always relatively short. Tristan helped us within 10 minutes and asked to move the car into one of the open bays. He was very professional and efficient. Another 20 minutes and he had patched the tire after finding the nail which had embedded itself in the tire. No charge for the repair since we bought the tires at this location. A pattern of incompetency and dishonesty culminating in a 2 hrs and 5 min wait. We have been coming to America's tires for over 10 years, however recently the customer service has really gone south. We came to get four tires changed however they only had two. So we agreed to get those change and had them order the other two tires. Several weeks go by and it apparently they forgot about our order. This Monday we re-ordered the tires and they tell us it'll be there on Wednesday. Learning from our mistake we call on Wednesday. We are told that the tires will be there and to bring our car. So we make an appointment for 4 PM. We arrived on time only to find they didn't have tires had not arrived. The following day I am notified that the tires have arrived and that I could come by anytime and I would be "taken care of". The tire changed would only take an hour and 15 minutes. So I make an appointment for 11 AM. I arrive at 11 AM and check out at 11:15. And hour and a half later (12:45), They still haven't started working on my car. I expressed my unhappiness and they say that my car is next. However this was not the truth and another person's car went in. I complained again and they finally started work on my car. not surprisingly the actual tire change took less than 15 minutes. However the entire process took two hours and 5 minutes. I understand that hick ps happen but as you can see there is a consistent pattern of incompetence and dishonesty that is not acceptable. As you can see from the picture the showroom was relatively empty and I have uploaded my receipt to show the timestamps. Borderline 3.5-4 experience. Pro tip 1: not open on Sundays! Pro tip 2: definitely make a reservation beforehand! Walk ins on a busy Saturday could result in a 1.5+ hour wait time. Pro tip 3: After you drop off your car, plazas nearby have lots of food/shopping options! Marshalls, Sweet Tomatoes, Bowl of Heaven, nail salon, etcetera. Service here is alway great! Never had a bad experience. Only thing though, parking lot is super jam packed. Sadly, my rover's driver door got slammed by another car owner and they jut left. Darn those parking spaces! Noticed my tire was constantly running out of air. Knew there must be a leak or damage. Called America's Tire because my boyfriend had gone there for a rotation and because they had good reviews. I called at 4:30pm to see if they had my tire in stock in case it needed replacing. They told me I could walk in before they closed at 6. Super convenient especially because I needed to do it outside of working hours. When I got there there was about 1-1.5 hour wait. I didn't mind because I didn't schedule an appointment. They quickly assessed lol of my tires, not just the one with the leak. Quickly saw a nail in the tire from a first glance. Thorough inspection. Told me two were due to be replaced which included the one with the leak. They didn't have any deals but I figured it's easier to replace a damaged, worn down tire than to repair it. The whole thing took about an hour. They even stayed open past 6pm to finish customers like me who were waiting. Too knot has customer service and they work really fast and efficiently. Will definitely be back for tire needs. They also gave me a warranty for the two new tires. Super happy overall. read more

American Tires did a shoddy work on my tires. They did not tighten the tire air valve stem after changing, causing slow air leakage after I drove off my car. Without knowing this issue, I drove my car with imbalanced air pressure for the next couple days. At one point my tire pressure was close to 0 when I was driving on the highway. This could cause serious security issue! I could've had another flat tire on the highway, or a car accident because American tire didn't do their job! After noticing the leakage, I ended up driving to another shop and having them check for me to fix it. This should not happen in the first place, I just called the store to complain and drove to the store. They did a recheck on my tires and admit it was their miss. They refunded me $75 on the labor, but again, this type of mistake is unacceptable and made me wasted a lot of time. read more

Mountain View, CA site Brought my car in with screw in tire. They did not have my tire size and would have to order it. I had them check other sites in the area's of Tracy (where I reside) and Fremont on my way home. Fremont confirmed they had my tire in stock which is rare. They put my spare on so I could get on my way to Fremont. Tire tech said I was good to go and my spare would carry me for the couple of days if needed. Twelve minutes down the road my spare blew and was shredded to pieces due to American Tire underinflating the spare. This not only cost me alot of frustration (dealing with Tow Service; $100.00 in extra mile charge from tow; and trying to get to Fremont site before closing (which I arrived well after closing but they stayed open knowing I was on my way. When they looked at the tire - they said that - Mountain View site gave them incorrect information for the tire that needed replacement. I did not reach Tracy until 10:00 pm that night. Fremont site had to order the correct tire and fortunately had a spare that would work for a few days before I could get the replacement done on Monday. The Fremont site was on task and followed through without error. I have always used America's Tire Company for all my tire needs. As I replace my tires frequently due to long commutes. However, the Mountain View site needs to evaluate their technician's knowledge of all types of spare tires and inflation and double check their information when relaying to another party for accuracy of any and all facts relative to a tire. I do not feel comfortable in using the Moutain View site in the future. read more

I never thought I'd give 5 stars to any car services or repair store. It's overpriced with substandard service, is the usual experience. For my recent visit to America's Tire, it was a 4.5 Star experience. When it comes to price, service, professionalism, and quality of work, it was a 5-star experience. The 'miss' is the service is excruciatingly slow, and for no good reason. They're busy, but so are their customers, and I waited 20 min+ in line with only one person in front of me. Been bringing my car here for tires for years because so close to my house. They keep losing stuff on my wheels. This time around they lost another lug nut cover. Other lug nut covers were barely put back on and would have fallen off until I went to each one and push them on properly. Purchased a new tire here because of a nail in my tire. They did a walk around to look at my tires. They checked all four. Then somehow when they were fixing the tire the team spotted a nail on my other tire. Can't blame them since i don't know for sure but I feel that they should of found nail on the tire check. WARNING: Do not buy the the store brand Arizona tire; the tire is dangerous on a wet road. I was sold this tire without being told it wouldn't do well on a wet road. On a wet road it slips when you simply accelerate from a stop at a red light. I'm concerned going around a curve may result in the car sliding. I went back to them and voiced my concerns. Unfortunately I had bought the tire in Sept(no rain then) and only discovered the problem when the rain started. There is a 30 day warranty. I spent $440 on 4 tires. They were willing to give me a $160 discount on 4 Michelin tires for a cost of $450. Total cost to me close to $900; I declined the offer. read more

I'm giving two stars because I've been here on a 'good' day. While I do understand Covid is going on what happened today was ridiculous. They have 2 huge signs saying please check in here. With a table, and a sign in pad. A gentleman signed in, then I went to sign in and a worker came out saying "hey, don't touch that!" With a nasty attitude for no reason. I said oh, so I dont sign in and before I can finish my sentence, "don't touch it!" Then goes back inside leaving it on the table. So...a sign saying check in...a pad to check in....but don't you dare touch it! Sure the table was designed to have a worker sign you in, but that is only obvious after either a smart alex move like the worker did, or remove the sign in pad. I was here to purchase 4 new 22" wheels and tires but I'm now taking my money elsewhere read more
