Recently had Aaron and his apprentice Channa over and they blew my mind. All I had called for was an estimate on running a water line so I could move my fridge and two hours later the water line was run, fridge moved AND leveled, and the guys were helping me empty my cabinets last minute and move things around so we could do the work that day. Don't stand by their work! Our contractor recommended we use them to connect a new kitchen sink and faucet when we bought our house. They did a LOUSY job which we only discovered two years later when we realized it had been leaking and rotted our the cabinet floor. When we pointed this out to the contractor, he said the installation was LOUSY; pipes were not straight. We called Amesos and all we got was them telling us they do not do crappy work and we must have had another plumber muck it up. I called at 7pm (after they closed) and got a call a little bit before 8am the next morning saying they could come out the same day between 12-2. This was nice since no other plumbers were available for a couple of days. The guy Mark showed up at 12:30 and was very polite and pleasant. They bill $145 per hour for the first hour and break it up into 15 minute increments after the 1st hour. Not cheap but still about the going rate. However Mark was a f%&*$# machine! I mean he was going at break-neck speed...practically running and back and forth from his van to get tools. He opened the wall, re-cut pipes, replaced valves...killed it. You want to talk about the weather? Call another company. You want to talk sports? Call another company. You want your shit fixed? Call Mark... It's never fun to have to pay for plumbing but at least with these guys (Mark specifically) you feel like you were well taken care of and got good value. Will definitely be my "go to" plumber...game over. read more

These guys are the best!. The office staff is so friendly, warm, and nice, and so helpfull. They make you feel like they are really going to take care of you and they do!... Stan is the MAN!, He came to my house and videoed my sewer lateral due to a clog I had. After looking at the video with him and seeing it was clogged with roots and pipes were separating he clearly spelled out what they needed to do. They did the work in a timely manner and took the utmost care in replacing the sewer line. They were even less $ than a 2nd bid I got for the job. The branch line in our San Rafael house backed up and I had called another plumber, the ones who replaced our main sewer line just weeks before. Our experience with them wasn't great and we weren't sure how much we could trust them and their pricing so we called Amesos as well. What a great experience! They were professional all the way around and cheaper than my first plumber. Plus they were proactive so I didn't have to follow up with them on things. They even noticed that something was missing from our sewer job so I had to call our first plumber to come and fix it. I cannot say enough good things. I first called a neighborhood company to do work on my mother's leaking shower. They charged $50 to look at it and $350 more, and said that they replaced the valves. The leaking did not stop. They tried a quick-sale and repeated telephone calls to get me to agree to $3700 to replace the main shower valve (nothing in writing). I called a contractor friend, who told me that the price was outrageous and it was a 3 hour job, at best. I then remembered Amesos Plumbing. I called them a few years ago for some small jobs - fixing something at my house and replacing my mother's garbage disposal. From the start, the guy on the phone said that he did not think that the whole valve needed to be replaced and he would send an experienced plumber to look at it - no cost. He said he could easily fix it with ceramic valves. They came back a few days later and replaced the valves and showed me the old ones - the first company never replaced them, just the rubber gasket. The total cost from Amesos - $305. They saved me $3,200. I will never use anyone else again. read more

Tragedy averted thanks to Amesos! We used Amesos to replace our sewer main when we first moved in to our new house about 18 months ago and they did a great job then. So when we sprung a leak under our kitchen sink and I couldn't get the shut off valve to turn it off we called Amesos. They sent out Chandler between scheduled jobs who arrived in just a couple of hours, in plenty of time for us to have kept things relatively dry with towels and drip pans. Chandler was courteous, professional and on the spot, and he determined that the shut off valve itself was the issue. He replaced it quickly and without incident, as well as a second shut-off valve under the sink as a preventative, since it was also old and likely to fail sooner rather than later. Coincidentally we have also been having some issues with our under sink hot water dispenser, and he helped us trouble shoot that as well, as a courtesy. I'm so pleased about the service and professionalism from Amesos. No one likes to have to call a plumber, especially not related to an emergency, but this was as good as that situation gets, and I would not hesitate to recommend Amesos or use them again in the future. read more

Hands down the best plumbing experience ever (and I've used several in Marin). I had water pressure issues that were getting progressively worse. Decided to try Amesos. Spoke to Richard and he spent at least 10 minutes walking me through the potential issues and relayed everything to the technician (Channa). Channa arrived, checked the pressure valve which was good. Then checked our pipes - including crawling under our house which is miserable without a complaint - they turned out to be copper not galvanized (good). The determined a previous repairman hadn't turned up the clamp valve properly. Viola problem fixed. Channa wore a mask the entire time. Then when they went to bill me -- expecting to pay the 1 hour minimum, they decided to only charge for a half hour ($87). Awesome - I will be back! read more

I don't write a lot of reviews but these guys are really good and highly recommend working with them. I had roots growing into my lateral of my sewer line and I knew I needed to get it replaced. Every time I would flush my toilet, it was a virtual crap shoot. It got to the point where I could not read my newspaper in peace due to worry about the pending flush. I had the line cleared once, but problem came back shortly so I decided to replace the lateral sewer line. I shopped around and these guys were 40-90% less than their competitors. There was a competetor that I heard would probably be close their quote, but I could not get the guy to call me back, so I figured if it was like that pre-sale, post sale could not be much better. Amesos knew the permitting process from start to finish (where I live there is no extra charge for a permit) and they were flexible with their scheduling. The video equipment was helpful to trouble shoot a problem and the entire staff were professional. From the sales guy, to the office person, to the plumbers they were very good to deal with. All very professional, knew their stuff and did a very good job. I highly recommend them! read more

We had Amesos do a sewer lateral inspection, and after a pre-emptive warning, they were unable to get the camera around the bend, gave up and charged us $150. They then offered another approach for a further $700. We called Trenchless Titan who offered to do the full job for $150, with no fee if unsuccessful. Mark came out and did a great and quick job hooking up our sink, dishwasher, and garbage disposal. Over the phone estimate was for 3 hours of work but he did it in one hour. As a result, they only charged 1 hour of work. An estimate from another company (and I wont mention Ongarro by name) was $1,200 for the work (regardless of time). We have used them a few times to replace our galvanized piping with copper piping. In all cases they were very responsive, came when they said they would be here and stuck to their estimate. This last time we replaced the piping up to the bathroom shower, along with new fixtures. I agree with all the previous posters' positive comments. I originally had them replace my lateral sewer line earlier in the spring. Then had them back to work on a clogged kitchen sink in August. Don't recall his name, but he cleared the line pretty quickly and since there was still time on the clock, asked if I had any other problems (I was pleasantly shocked!). I did, a slow draining bathtub whose u-trap I didn't know how to reach. He took care of that one too at no extra cost. And very reasonable price. I called Amesos Plumbing because of water backup in a shower drain. Another company had been here first and wanted to do extensive work that would have cost thousands of dollars. When I called Amesos I explained to Nick, the owner, I had lost confidence in the other plumbing company and wanted a second opinion. He sent a man, Stan, out to give me a free estimate of what it would cost if Amesos did the work. He ran a camera through the pipe system to search for problems. BIG Disappointment! When I called describing my hot water flow inconsistency problem, the man answering the phone was very polite and seemed knowledgeable. However, he did not quote me a price for a visit either time I spoke with him. Surprise! $155 just to show up at my door. No work was done, other than the employee looking at the water flow cartridge (new) and examining the outside of the water heater. As the resident maintenance staff had already done everything they could to resolve the issue and were still stumped, I was seeking a professional who could tell me why I was losing 1 degree of heat per minute while the shower or tub faucet was running (measured with instruments.) The employee listened to everything I described the staff had done. He surmised debris had built up in the water heater. (Turns out staff had already cleared debris in the tank and pipes.) There went his one theory. Then he suggested a new, larger water heater and gave me a cheap low flow shower head that was so weak, it was useless to me. I called to say that the shower head was restricting the hot water flow, yet still losing a degree every two minutes instead of one. I have lived in this apartment for seven years, with the same shower head and the same bathtub plumbing and never had this problem. The voicemail I received from the owner, Nick, after my last message to him, summed up his complete disdain and frustration with my question as to a real solution. He inferred that I shouldn't call back and all I needed was a bigger hot water tank! (I requested from Nick a written recommendation to submit to my Apartment Manager; I never received it.) This company never came up with a reason why the water loses heat annoyingly fast while showering or bathing; the hot water doesn't run out (so why a new, bigger water heater?), no written recommendation, and to top it off, a very disparaging last voice mail from the owner. Undertones of "you dumb broad, you," was prevalent and hard to miss. Without a written recommendation from a professional, there is little chance the complex will purchase a new water heater (assuming that would solve the problem), solely on my request. Thanks, Nick! I would not recommend this company, especially if you're of the female persuasion. read more

Amesos Plumbing is a winner. After reading about them on Yelp, I gave them a try. They installed 15 feet of new water main on my property, tying into 60 year old rusted pipe. Needless to say, it was not a typical job for a plumber, but they did a fantastic job. They were a little over time and estimate, but it became a bigger job than expected.
