We had the pleasure of having Ashley wait on us today, the place has a nice ambience and it's a place where a lot of the locals come to for a quick bite to eat. If you're looking for a place to eat something quickly and have a cold beverage this might be for you

First timer here. It was really good. I was eating by myself. I had a slice of the McDowell cheeseburger pizza. The slice is from the large pizza. The crust was really good. I also had a Amici Cesar salad, it was also really good. The bartender server was also a really nice guy. He explained the menu and was patient with me. Also said this is the first location with the corporate office downstairs.

Cheese calzone- I ordered it that way but there was only cold mozzarella in it... no ricotta.

I nostalgically stopped in with memories of Amici's early days on the Main Street in a smaller space with an uneven floor and a couple of steps up off the street level. And, while the new space is much more comfortable and convenient, the food has slipped, a lot. My calzone was cold and while I ordered a cheese only calzone, there was nothing exciting about coldish mozzarella. I was expecting a nice fluffy ricotta with melted mozzarella. I ordered the onion ring basket- they were ok- not as exciting as I thought they would be. Admittedly, I ordered some really run of the mill items so that's on me but the sauce was obviously out of a giant metal can and the special dipping sauce for the rings was ketchup. I thought it would be a more from scratch experience.

Pleasantly surprised at the great taste of my slice of the "Athenian" pizza! Flavorful and generous portion ($6.50). I also had an order of 6 lemon-pepper wings ($10.50). They were ok, IMO, nothing special. Served with celery slices and choice of ranch or blue cheese dressing. Service was poor. Had to go up to the bar to get another drink as the waitress didn't come back to check on us after the food was delivered. Very busy establishment on a Saturday night. Overall, good experience.

Extremely slow service. Over an hour wait on food when I arrived on a Sunday that didn't appear to be busy. It was also 2 in the afternoon.

Tomato bisque was fantastic. Grilled chicken sandwich was disappointing, but boneless wings were good. Bathrooms we're kind of grimy.

Reservations at 8, right on time. Walked in seated right away by the hostess. The standard server will be with you shortly here are your menus. Our waitress Summer had the timing down. Just as we figured out what we wanted from the drink menu she arrived. An old fashioned is our go to so two Seasonal Old Fashioned to start. We also ordered the baked Feta for appetizer. The interior is warm and open. Tables and chairs have plenty of room We sat overlooking the bar area (the bar is at a lower level). Only thing I would change is sitting at a table vs a High top. Drinks and appetizer arrived promptly. The baked feta was so good warm and creamy, tomatoes and seasoning provided depth. Summer provided the specials of the day as well as her thoughts on various entree. My wife originally was looking at a pasta w shrimp. Summer brought to our attention the pork chop - she said I know you think of how good can a pork chop be but ours is really amazing. So my wife changed her mind and went with the pork chop. I elected for the Red Fish atop orzo. Entrees arrived and wow they looked perfect. That pork chop was thick, nice crisp sear topped with apples ( sautéed perfectly not soggy). My red fish was well seasoned and tasted great. What amazed me was the spinach and tomato orzo! So creamy and subtle it complimented the fish so well. You can't have a Birthday without desert. Again Summer provided great recommendations and insights. Salted Caramel cheesecake for the birthday girl and I had the crème brûlée cheesecake cake. Both were very good not too dense and not fluff. The flavors were not overpowering so you enjoy the flies well as the taste of cheesecake. Price was what I expected, it's not bar food , priced appropriately. Remember I said reservations were at 8 ? They close at 9 and not once did we feel rushed. The staff, especially Summer treated us like the first customer of the evening. My wife digs the whole singing happy birthday , the dessert had the happy birthday message and Summer discreetly asked if she would like the happy Birthday song. They did, and looked like they had fun doing it. Awesome place we will definitely go back!

I have been cooking Italian meals since the 1970s. Thus, I am VERY picky and critical of Italian food. Only a handful of Italian eateries were acceptable to me in Atlanta. I have had veal dishes around the lake area at different establishments. I have been totally unimpressed; getting it once, and never again due to it being either overcooked, tough or both. Here, the veal parm was hot, tasty, ample size and cooked almost perfectly*. {I personally like it a bit pink inside, *but it was NOT overcooked and was NOT TOUGH which is more typical here at the lake area. } We had 6 PM reservations for our anniversary dinner to try it out for the first time. Emma, our server, was EXCELLENT! We were seated within 5 minutes of checking in. Our server assistant, Mya, was at our table and took an order for wine and appetizers, which came quickly. Emma, our main server was cheerful and attentive throughout our meal. After ordering our main dishes, the food came very promptly and the place was full. Prices were quite reasonable for the good quality which was more superior than the other "New Italian" eatery in the area and personally, better quality. The decor was changed which is nice and open. It was a bit loud, but not much louder than any other open spaces. That would be expected as the dining room was full. We did not see the owners as some reviews have stated, but I would have thanked them profusely for having great service and food. We sure hope they are successful and continue the great food and service. I would also tell them that Emma was exceptional and a wonderful server which made our dinner extra special. Thanks!

We started our meal with a few appetizers--meatballs--and initially opted for the focaccia bread. Then we changed our minds and decided to try the pizza since everyone raved about how good it was. Best decision ever. Swapping the focaccia for the pizza was absolutely worth it. pizza crust was perfectly crisp yet light, and we ordered a meat-lovers-style pizza that was absolutely delicious. We ate two slices each and had to send the rest back because we left it on the table--otherwise, we would've eaten the whole thing. At that point we were full, and we could've asked for the check, but where's the fun in that? Instead, we decided to split a pasta dish, which turned out to be the perfect portion. The pasta was delicious, the sauce was amazing, and by then we were officially too full to eat anything else. We finally asked for the check, completely satisfied. Overall, it was an amazing experience. The food was excellent, our server was wonderful, and everything was a solid 10 out of 10.

We decided last minute to join some friends who already had a reservation so they canceled ours and added us to our friends with no issue. It was hard to understand why the reservation system showed little availability as the restaurant was half empty. May be they were short staffed. We were seated in their fully enclosed patio at a low table (there were high tops as well). Our server was very knowledgable about the menu and offered up the specials from memory. We started with the focaccia, which I highly recommend! Everyone at our table thought it was the best they've had. It came with a whipped ricotta and olive tapenade, both of which were excellent! For my entree, I had the carnivora pizza which was perfectly cooked. Thin and slightly crunchy, there were not a ton of toppings that overwhelmed the crust, which was good in this case. The calabrian chiles gave it a nice kick and made the meal for me! My only issue was that they got my leftovers mixed up so when I opened them the next morning, it was not my food!

Every single dish came out intentional, balanced, and full of flavor -- the kind of food that makes you slow down and appreciate each bite. Some highlights from our visit: Bread Basket -- warm focaccia with EVOO, balsamic, house dipping oil, and whipped ricotta (absolutely dangerous) Crab Stuffed Mushrooms -- rich, delicate, finished with a lemon butter drizzle Braciola -- parmesan breadcrumb filling, red sauce, served with focaccia Beet Carpaccio -- roasted beets, goat cheese, candied walnuts, arugula -- the perfect mix of sweet, earthy, and fresh Fried Tortellini -- cheese-filled with an nduja parmesan sauce that had serious depth Italian Spring Rolls -- pepperoni, sausage, mozzarella, peppers & onions -- unexpectedly incredible Even though we focused on starters, nothing felt small or secondary. Each plate stood on its own and showcased the kitchen's attention to detail and flavor. The drinks were immaculate -- balanced, smooth, and thoughtfully crafted. Yes, the plates looked like they came from Dollar Tree (no judgment, lol), but when the food is this good, that becomes part of the charm instead of a flaw. I'm already looking forward to going back.
