I returned to Amighetti's last week with my mom and I have to say that my second time around, I much better than my first time! The service was superb, just as it was the first time I came. This time, knowing that the lasagna was not really my thing (as it turns out, it's a vegetarian dish. Who knew?), we had salads, bread, and sandwiches! Things that we liked: - Brussel Sprouts and Cauliflower! I typically hate both, but these were so well seasoned and well cooked, that they were both delicious! It was quite a surprise! - The Special Salad! It's really good and really loaded with all the fixings; meat, veggies, and cheese! -The Loaded Special Sandwich! A classic sandwich loaded with meat, lettuce, and cheese, a bit messy but still pretty good. -The Little Bit of Italy! A really good toasted salad with just enough meat, onions, and black olives. -The Italian Beef Sandwich! OMG! I don't like gravy, so this sandwich scared me, but it had excellent flavor and the meat was very tender! I really liked this one. -Brownie for dessert! I took half a brownie to go and it was rich and delicious! Very chocolately and soft. It tasted homemade for sure. I stopped in for a quick weeknight dinner after work. I think I made the wrong choice when ordering. In any event I got their duo with an order of cheese toasted ravioli and mostaccioli in meat sauce. Yes, very St. Louis. The toasted ravioli ranged from a little cold in the center to reasonably warm. They would have been fine if they were fully cooked. The sauce on the mostaccioli tasted a little acidic and the pasta was a bit overcooked. I wasn't expecting a gourmet meal but I wouldn't get it again either. Probably the best thing to order here is a sandwich since that's what they're known for. I think the menu is a little different than on The Hill but all your favorites are there. If I return I'd go for a sandwich and skip the pastas! read more

Been going to Amighettis for as long as I can remember. Lots of memories. I'll never stop eating here. I've been to every location they've ever opened with my Dad. We've seen locations open then close down after awhile. But there has always been one thing that's consistent in all of them. That's gotta be that they serve the greatest sandwich ever made. However.... My Dad and I both have gone to this rock hill location and this location is different. The staff there are incredible! We even got to know the owner. Which is awesome! The food there is better than any of the other locations that has ever opened. If you want true St. Louis food. Go to the amighettis on rock hill. It's amazing. Order the Amighettis special. Had never had Amighetti's before....doubt I'll have it again. Was hungry and found them through DoorDash. Saw a pic of the lasagna and it looked so go I figured I had to try it. Big mistake. It was awful. Stouffer's makes a better frozen lasagna. The noodles were so gummy they stuck together and it was a mess of cheese on top but dry in the middle. It was inedible. I ate my first Amighetti's special sandwich in 1978 and thought it was absolutely the best sandwich I ever had. I enjoyed many more until I moved out of state in 1980. When I returned in 2016 I learned the original location had closed and the business relocated to Rock Hill. I went there and ordered one. As soon as I saw it I thought it wasn't the same because it was about half as thick. After one bite I KNEW it was different because it didn't taste anything like I remembered. This is my first review ever but here it goes. Went there on12.19.2022 and order one 6" special to stay and two to go. My wife opened hers for lunch today and found a fake acrylic fingernail on her sandwich. I called the location today and started with "not looking for anything for free, but I thought you should know". Just get the special. Look for the pepper. It's the special for a reason! The signature dressing is the best. Love that they have gluten free bread. With the location on the hill would get it! They consistently ask if I have a gluten allergy, even when ordering over the phone, so I would feel comfortable eating there if I needed to for celiac. read more

We walked in a few minutes before 8pm on a Tuesday night. Not knowing that they close at 8pm. We placed our order to dine in. They didn't say anything about closing soon. We sat down to wait for our food and noticed that every one else was leaving. We went and asked when they closed and they said 8pm. We told them that we could take our food to go so we didn't hold them up from going home. They insisted that we stay and enjoy our meals that they had to stay and clean up anyway. They went above and beyond for us and made us feel welcome even though they were closed. Not many places would do this for two people. We thank you and appreciate your time. This quaint sandwich shop was so much more than I ever expected. It seems like the whole family was working the place. Bread was great. I got the meatball, my wife got the turkey special. We split a chocolate chip canoli. All was great. The service was phenomenal. The owner greeted us, explained the menu, his favorites, customer favorites and the history of the place.
