    Birthday fun

Going to Amigos is ALWAYS a good time. The people who work here are the best, most friendly people whether you are there in the afternoon for lunch or in the evenings for a drink with dinner. The food is absolutely delicious. We love the chalupas and sampler platters. The drinks are also amazing and reasonably priced. The go to of our group tends to be the sangria swirl, but the cucumber margarita with the tajin rim is my FAVORITE! The vibes here are so fun in the evenings. Especially on Fridays and Saturdays when they have live music. Sometimes we even bring our own speaker and have karaoke in the back room. Overall this is our favorite place in Richardson!

Great local spot that makes me wish I lived closer. Fast drinks and fresh food. Sat in the bar area for lunch and everyone seemed happy.

Service and food are good, as always! Be cautious coming on a Saturday night if you don't like live music. The music is really really loud so it's hard to hear yourself and others at your table. I would suggest sitting on the left side of the restaurant if that's not really your thing.

Came to the place for the first time for my moms birthday and I have to say I am glad that I made this choice. The food was delicious and the drinks are good. This service was great our waiter was very helpful and attentive to everyone. If you wanna have a good time and dance to some great music must come and try. Music starts at 8:00 Friday Saturday

I love this place so much! Probably if not, the best Mexican restaurant in Richardson!!! Food is very authentic, customer service is amazing. The drinks are cheap and worth getting 3 margaritas for the price of one at most places. I ordered Pollo en Mole comes with rice and beans. The mole sauce is a bit spicy but very flavorful. And chips and salsa are complimentary. Again, check this place out. You won't be disappointed!!

My friend loves this place and decided to invite me to eat dinner here. We sat down in Bar area . We were greeted right away by bartender . He was very sweet and actually spoke to us . We chatted a little. We ordered happy hour margaritas and queso. They give you complimentary chips and salsa which is great. The food and drinks is delicious I ordered the brisket enchiladas and they were amazing. Filled with mashed potatoes and sauce that they are plated over is so creamy and tasty. I will definitely be bringing my family here The service was great :)

Amigos Restaurant great customer service with just ok food. My husband and I ventured over to Amigos after church Sunday looking for some great Tex-Mes eats. However, we left abit disappointed. The staff was great! Everyone was friendly and generous with their greetings, and our waiter was prompt and attentive. My husband had the Egg Burrito which he described as ok. I had the Ribeye Stew described as; 10oz Ribeye cut meat served in mixed spicy Serrano and mole sauce with rice and beans topped with queso fresco and sliced avocado. Which it was exactly that, MINUS the meat and the stew part. The sauce was salty and the 10 ounces of Ribeye meat was more like 10 pieces of Ribeye meat, which is daunting considering the $18 price tag that came with the total of 8 ounces of "stew". Honestly, it would have been better to have served a 8oz Bone-in Ribeye Steak topped with Serrano/Mole sauce, Queso Fresco and sliced Avocado served with rice and beans, for $18! None the less, I am someone who will visit an establishment that has Great customer service and ok food. (That's just my personal feelings and I'm sticking to it)! So, to Amigos; let's work on the food matching the amazing service you guys offer. Maybe next time, I'll try the brunch menu.

I usually never write Yelp reviews but this place was deserving of one! The staff were super fun and friendly - the door was opened for us when we walked in and that immediately felt good. The waiters weren't bothersome and made us feel comfortable. We sat in the back toward the stage and as the night progressed there was fun live music! The one thing I will say is that it was a little too loud, but we were sitting close. The food was in big plates and tasted great. Super diverse menu but not the weird sort where there is sushi and burgers at the same restaurant. Lol. Great experience I wasn't expecting!

The bartender was attentive, kind, and professional. The atmosphere felt welcoming, and you can tell they have loyal regulars, which always speaks well of a restaurant. The staff overall seemed consistent and friendly. Now for the food. I ordered the queso to start. The flavor was good, but it wasn't hot -- more lukewarm than fresh-out-the-kitchen warm. For my entrée, I had the skirt steak with beans, pico de gallo, enchilada, and rice. The flavors were solid, but again, the plate came out lukewarm. For a Tex-Mex spot, temperature really matters. I don't need it piping hot, but I do expect my food to feel freshly made and properly heated when it arrives. That was my only disappointment. I've ordered carryout before without issue, and because the service and vibe are strong, I will definitely be back to give it another try. I just hope next time the food comes out hot and fresh. Overall: great service, good flavors, strong local energy -- just room for improvement on food temperature.

I love that they bring not only good salsa with their fresh hot chips, but also a tomatillo sauce and a black bean dip. We've now eaten there several times. The taco meat has a nicely charred flavor. The tamales were very good. (I'm picky about my tamales. I've tried their ranchero sauce, chili con carne, and sour cream sauce. None of them disappoint. Their rice isn't dry like it is at many other Tex-Mex places. And their $5.00 all day frozen margaritas are worth it. We usually go for the lunch specials that run until 4:00. They don't have mole on the menu, yet. I'm looking forward to their future specials. In this day and age where it's hard to keep a restaurant open, I really hope this one survives. Today was her birthday (one of those that come every 10 years) and she wanted to go to Papasitos. I made reservations, checked the box that we were celebrating a BD. We arrived ahead of our reservation and had a little wait for a table. No problem. The young lady from the check in seated us and ask if we were celebrating anything. I told her that it was my wife's birthday, but she didn't want the full blown hooten hollering sombrero celebration. We waited 8-10 minutes before a server came to our table. He immediately apologized for the wait and said that he was helping out another waiter that was supposed to have our table. He took our drink order and soon returned with our drinks. To my surprise, he proceeded to take our food order. I thought he was temporarily helping out until the other server could catch up and take over. That wasn't the case. Ok, No problem so far. I'm giving 2 stars because the food came out super fast and hot and delicious. Then our server delivers hot flour tortillas.., all 3 of them. After each eating one taco, we were ready for another batch. Now this is where it started to go downhill. Several minutes go by and I could not grab his attention. I literally had to waive my hand in the air to flag him down across the restaurant. He finally looked my direction and soon delivered more tortillas. That was the last we saw of him. No checking on our table, no refills on our drinks, no nothing. After we finished our meal, we waited another 25 minutes to try to get his attention to close out our meal. He would never look our way. He was like a horse with blinders. Honestly, I think he forgot that he was our server OR MAYBE he saw us as 2 people and his gratuity was going to be smaller compared to the larger tables. Finally, I flagged down another server from another table and ask if he could close us out. He asked if we had a paper receipt, which we had not. He closed us out on his iPad. I didn't even get the chance to order my wife a dessert to celebrate the occasion. No bueno! Let's just say the service was abysmal and absolutely unacceptable. My man went MIA. It is questionable whether I will return to this establishment.
