Great place for Mexican food in Kahului. Service was friendly. Casual ambiance. Food and margarita was tasty!

Has the birria meat plate this time and wow thats alot of meat. Mouth watering tender and came out so fast. The cosume has a deep flavor making my way down the menu.

Came here for lunch with my family, we were seated about 10 mins after waiting. Party of 9. They have short staff signs everywhere. So atleast that is black and white. Surprisingly we did get our drinks quick and our food quick. And customer service was decent as well. They are short staffed. Over worked. Give them some grace Reason for such a bad Rating is quality of food. Incredibly bland food. And the cheese they put into your burrito is not melted. It's just clumps of raw cheese. Don't think I would come again. Thank you.

We arrived around 5pm and the place was nearly empty, but it filled up quickly. There aren't many tables, but they do a lot of take-out business. Santos provided great service. I ordered the special, birria quesa tacos. My wife ordered the shredded chicken burrito. I asked for a tall modelo, because I was sure I would have to share it. The beer was good and cold. We munched on the chips & salsa until our food arrived. The tacos were thin, not holding much birria but it tasted great and there were 4 of them. A cup of consome' was included, which was fine for dipping although a bit messy. A thimble of super hot juice was also included but I would have preferred a little dab of refried beans and a spoonful of rice to go with the 5 chips that filled out the plate. Santos checked in with us a couple of times to see how we were doing. I shared my tacos and sampled my wife's burrito. The shredded chicken was rather blah, but the leftover consome' from the birria helped a lot.

A crunchy taco - quite small.

I'd call it a 3.5. If you ordered takeout, you wait outside the restaurant. They do have a seating area outside where you can wait. If you want to eat inside, line up by the sign outside and wait. Eventually someone will come out to help you. It was about 1 pm and I hadn't eaten all day, so I was quite hungry. The chips were fresh, and not stale as others have experienced. The salsa was mild. I ordered an enchilada and a taco. The taco were okay but really small. It's a good thing I ordered the enchilada too, or I would have still been really hungry. Because the portions were small, we easily polished off the chips. It's in a strip mall with a parking lot, but at popular times, you might have to do some driving around to find a spot. There's some "shade," under the solar panels, and a charging station.

Considering it was Cinco De Mayo and how crowded this restaurant was, the service was still good and food delicious as always.

    Chilaquiles

The food is delicious, I had the chilaquiles.... Bomb. Our server was amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. Very welcoming place. Real authentic mexican food.

This a small Mexican restaurant. A little tricky to see from dairy road but worth finding. It's not very big and fills up quickly around 6 for dinner. They seem to do a big pickup business so if after 6 I'd go that route. We were greeted quickly and shown to our table. The waiter brought a small container with warm chips and some delicous salsa and 2 waters. I ordered the chicken burrito it was delicous alittle milder than I thought it would be but added salsa and it was perfect. It was packed with lots of chicken and rice & I was happily surprised no beans inside. I would definately order this again.

    Chicken flautas plate

Food was good portion and tasteful. I would definitely go back to get my Mexican food fix. We did take-out. When you pick up your fold, you let the hostess (that is waiting outside by the entrance) know. You pay right there for cash or card. Not the friendliest person and didn't give me my change from paying cash. I guess to avoid that, I will pay card next time (not sure if there is a fee).

Since it was Sunday, I decided today was the day. I'm not a big coffee connoisseur because of a health condition I have and caffeine can affect me but I do love coffee (even if it doesn't love me) but I'll usually go with a Tea option or Smoothie. I decided on a simple smoothie so I got the Keiki Smoothie with Banana, Strawberry and Apple Juice. I asked the waitress what sandwich is the most popular and she said the Turkey Pesto Melt and boy did that hit! It really was the BEST sandwich. It was on a crispy, flaky...and might I add...buttery croissant with thick slices of turkey, tomato, creamy pesto aioli and melted provolone! It came with some chips and dill pickle on the side. The only downside was the price-it was about $17 so I'm sure I'll treat myself once in a good while to this. My small smoothie was $8 but refreshing nonetheless. I love the vibes inside with hanging plants and art work throughout. There was someone doing remote work or school in the corner with her sleepy golden retriever next to her, a few locals outside and some visitors inside. The workers are friendly and I saw one clean the outside tables right away after a few parties left. A nice spot to hit up for some nice breakfast, lunch and a coffee with a friend.

TIKI DAVE and family loves TIN ROOF MAUI!…read more While our cruise ship was in port, we stopped in after I did some serious research to settle upom Tin Roof and boy were we glad! Holy smokes, that Mochicko Chicken [Hawaiian-style fried chicken made by marinating bite-sized chicken pieces in a sweet and savory soy-garlic batter featuring mochiko (sweet rice flour) before deep-frying] is the bomb! Super crispy bits, amazing flavor, served over garlic noodles...man alive, if you are in Maui and don't grab takeout here, you may as well not go to Maui. It is takeout only and my wife didn't want fried food so she ordered something from the Mexican joint across the parking lot. Since she ordered food there, we figured it'd be ok to eat our heavenly chicken dishes there....NOPE; we were asked to leave. BOO. The animal style sauce was really tasty, and didn't overpower the chicken, it complimented the plate well! The noodles weren't very garlicky at all, definitely felt it was lacking flavor. Poke was good, but the pieces of fish were in pretty large chunks. Lastly, the pork belly was just okay. As a local, I think this place is a good introduction for tourists to get a taste of local flavors. But definitely hit up some other local spots even Zippy's for comparison. Maybe I just went on a off day. To end off on a positive note they do offer a few vegetarian and vegan options!

We actually got seated fairly quickly, around 10 minutes. The hostess was clearly overwhelmed, she was throwing menus on tables and was quite rude. She was arguing loudly with servers about rearranging the tables, it wasn't pleasant. I ordered the short stack banana pancakes and breakfast loco moco, and they both were good. The wife ordered the day's special prime rib sandwich. Initially they brought out the wrong sandwich - a french dip. They noticed and corrected it, but the $20 prime rib sandwich looks really sad, with a few tiny bits of chopped up beef with a little unknown kind of cheese, the meat doesn't taste like prime rib, and the fries were stale; the french dip actually looked much better. My wife barely ate half the plate. Maybe that's why a lot of the chefs said, don't order the daily specials; they are getting rid of old ingredients, LOL. We are locals living in Honolulu; we have come to Tasty Crust many times in the past when we visit Maui. This is the first time we didn't have a good experience.
