Lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii... Wanting to support a local small business, I made it a point to schedule Amina Pizzeria into my day. Parking was a bit of a challenge since Kalakaua Avenue is a busy area. I did takeout since I wasn't able to find street parking. Inside, I was surprised to see such an extensive menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would like to return to this clean, pleasant, cozy eatery someday, and get a pasta dish![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This time, I just ordered a Combination Pizza from the efficient, friendly cashier. She was very kind to each customer! The Pizza was cut into four slices - just right to share with my niece and sister! We all enjoyed it - especially the crust with its crispy edges! The ingredients were fresh (onions could be chopped smaller) and the flavor was delicious! Looking forward to returning!

Recommend: Calzone. Amina PIZZERIA. Located kalakaua and Fern. Small shared parking lot in back. Ordered spinach and roasted garlic Calzone, $12.95 Combination Calzone, $13.95 Antipasta salad with vinaigrette, $12.95 Prices are reasonable. Good portion. Asked for utensils, paper plates, napkins, parmesan cheese and peppers. Maybe I asked too many questions, older lady taking order seemed to be kinda impatient with me. No service fee for credit cards.

I can't believe that it was my first time here. The food was absolutely delicious. I pass by all the time. We actually wanted to go to Machete next door, but they were closed, so we dined at Amina Pizzeria. We ordered the #16 cheese calzone $9.95 and #53 garlic bread with marinara sauce $6.95. They both were fantastic and both came with marinara sauce. It's the sauce that made all the difference. It wasn't too tart and I could taste all the seasonings. The garlic bread was garlicky and the calzone was loaded with gooey cheese. It was filling. The meat sauce lasagna caught my eye. I will have to definitely try that next time.

Wanted to try a different Pizza restaurant and came along this spot. I was surprised to see Calzones on the menu and had to try this spot. People were friendly and the service was fast. When I got home and saw the food, I knew my taste buds were going to be Happy. Will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Probably the worst pizza I've ever had in my life. Lady up front was so kind and sweet. The sauce was off putting the crust seemed almost raw. Except the back that was better. The cheese didn't seem completely melted , and the pepperoni almost tasted generic absolutely no flavor. Maybe other stuff is better just not the pizza.

Just a little neighborhood pizza shop! I had always passed this spot and wondered. Boy did I miss out! I have gotten take out here about 4 times now and have been pleasantly surprised every time. Their pizza is very tasty. I love their salads tho...! Ugh and their cheesy garlic bread....ugh so delicious! The salad is loaded plus has little pickled veggies that a delight with every bite! If you share this ..you'll be fighting over the pickled celery! The garlic chewy bread are what dreams are made of...soft and buttery with garlic. And just the right amount of cheese for that cheese pull! 5

Amina pizzeria is one of my fave, go-to pasta places on the island. Love their spaghetti and meatballs, and their Alfredo pizza, so good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a little bit of seating indoors so I usually always do takeout.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their prices are really affordable, and the owner hasn't changed even after I first tried them over a decade ago, and they've been consistent on taste and quality! The value of what you get is way more than what you pay for, so I love coming here. Owner and staff are always nice and honest, love this place!!

A one stop for delicious Italian style food. I love this place for their calzones and Americanized Italian food. The owner and worker is so sweet and helpful. She always has a smile on her face and makes you feel welcomed. I've been coming here for 22 years the quality remains the same throughout. Highly recommended

Great little lunch spot located on Kalakaua close by to Don Quiote area. You can dine in or take out. There's a shared lot for the other stores & restaurants in the building. Not a lot of parking, but there's also street parking. Ordered 2 kinds of pizza. I would say if there was more sauce it would've tasted better. They aren't huge like the Sam's or Costco pizzas so I would say they are more like a personal pan style pizza.

Short wait, fresh pizza, & super sweet staff * We for: 1. Hawaiian pizza w/ extra cheese: - Pizza came out in 15ish minutes - bread is a little different than what we were expecting. It does taste as if I made the dough at home but less fluffy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's seating inside the store but we opted to grab it to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not bad though! Definitely A+ service P.s. parking is hard to find

Italian meatball sandwich. Bread baked perfect crispy crunch, well seasoned meatballs. Could use more sauce, but still flavorful all around.

Super friendly and fast service. This place deserves more recognition! Parking is behind building off Fern Street. Looking forward to the lasagna and ravioli next visit!

Another experience that doesn't match the above average rating. Another experience where I was the one expectation out of 4-5 above average experiences. Though, some reviews are more generous than it should be, but that's fine. Here we are at Amina Pizzeria at the corner of Kalakaua Ave and Fern St--next to Machete's Mean Sandwiches and Moped Garage. There's a small parking lot in the back of the building along Fern St. It shares the lot with Pho Bistro 2 and other businesses. Inside is small--definitely hole in the wall size--with a few tables. But atleast is bright and clean. Besides pizza, this place offers calzones, spaghetti, French bread pizza, lasagna, baked penne, salads, and sandwiches. Pizzas come in three sizes, 10-, 12-, and 14-inch. I went with the Amina Combination Pizza (pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, Italian meatball, red onion, and bell peppers. I have to agree with the lower rated reviews regarding the dough and toppings. The dough/pizza crust really tasted like the frozen pizzas from the store. That was my immediate thought after the first bite. The crust was just thin, dense, and cardboard-like. The lack of sauce and taste was obvious. The toppings, albeit fresh, were too raw and undercooked for a pizza. Sure, I can taste the sweetness of the bell peppers and onions, but the crunchy texture didn't feel right. The oils from the pepperoni and meatball did not come out. Everything just ate bland and dry. Overall, it's disappointing the pizza is under seasoned, under cooked, and under sauced. I liked the fresh ingredients and the generous portions, but eating the cardboard-like, generic, frozen pizza crust killed the mood. These are really simple fixes. Use better pizza crust, lower the heat, so you can cook the vegetables and meats without burning the cheese, and USE MORE SAUCE and seasoning. Service was good. The lady was friendly and patient. The ingredients are there, and it wasn't awful. Just missed the marked on cooking time. Can't be bad twice right? I'd probably come back to try again. Maybe... The Sam's Club Deluxe pizza is pretty good though.

It was our last night on Oahu and were looking for some pizzaaaa. The dining area is very small/really casual so we decided to order to go and eat it by the pool. The service was great! Super friendly and efficient. We ordered a large Margherita with some sides of ranch. The pizza was undercooked and overall I felt it was just average. Surprising because the reviews are so good. But again, the service is exceptional.

Aroma Italia - Monserrat | Waikiki-Kapahulu-Diamond Head area - Island of Oahu…read more Onolicious! Lately I've been dining on soups like pho and ramen, lamb curry stews, and snacking on real fruit smoothies, and I felt like I needed a change of pace. However, I didn't realize I had this burning desire until I saw the foodie pics here on Yelp. It was then that I seriously wondered how I could inject a little more variety into my foodie repertoire. I saw this restaurant listed on Yelp and immediately thought, Ooh, what about Italian??? :D Myself replied: Mmm, that sounds tantalizing, Jules Y.! :D After perusing the menu to make sure I wasn't gonna miss out on a thing, it only took a few seconds for me to hone in on the two items I ultimately ordered: * 16" Florentine pizza (gigante) * Gnocchi Gorgonzola with added mushrooms I added mushrooms to the gnocchi dish, which was a fantastic decision I would not want to go without on future dines of this dish. The pizza was a thin crust topped with luscious mozzarella, rough-chopped garlic, spinach, and ricotta cheese. The gnocchi contained chicken chunks, potato gnocchi, luscious cream sauce, and the mushrooms I added. The Florentine immediately caught my eye. I'm particular about not eating sausage, pepperoni, and other typical pizza meats, so this cheese-and-spinach combination was exactly what I was looking for. I expected something around a medium-sized pizza, but what arrived was this unexpectedly large pie sitting inside a huge, flat pizza box. It seemed enormous! The crust was thin with a nicely fire-charred edge, while the center was packed with luscious cheesy goodness. Random dollops of ricotta, spinach leaves, and these entirely unexpected little chunks of fresh, soft, juicy garlic created little flavor explosions throughout every bite. It made eating the pizza fun because each slice was a little different. Although I thought I was hungry enough to eat a lion, I naturally stopped after only a couple of slices. That turned out to be a bonus because I had delicious leftovers for lunches and dinners over the next couple of days. The Gnocchi Gorgonzola was a different experience altogether. Tender potato gnocchi were coated in a thick, luscious cream sauce with chunks of chicken scattered throughout. The mushrooms I added were thinly sliced and blended in perfectly with the gnocchi, chicken, and creamy sauce. My only criticism is that the dish was saltier than I would have preferred. I think using about half as much salt would have allowed the flavors of the gnocchi and sauce to shine through even more. Aside from that, every bite was pleasantly chewy, rich, creamy, and satisfying. The sauce was everywhere--and that is definitely a good thing. Yum! These two dishes complemented each other perfectly because they offered completely different flavors and textures. The rich, cheesy Florentine pizza paired wonderfully with the creamy Gnocchi Gorgonzola. If I eat here again, I'll probably order these exact same dishes. If you enjoy Italian food as much as I do, I suspect you'll enjoy Aroma Italia's menu.

I think I would probably order it again but with the marinara sauce. The garlic bread with mozzarella cheese was good but I would order the regular garlic bread since it's less rich and would pair better with the entree. I think the garlic bread with mozzarella cheese would be great as an appetizer though. The ingredients on both the pasta and pizza were very generous. If I were to take friends out for Italian food I would bring them here.

Enough for both of us, then eat 2 more times after. Had to add my own protein for the take out tho since scallops kinda small and only a few shrimps. Hubs had the veal saltimbocca. He said he didn't expect it to be breaded but otherwise was yummy. I tasted it and was good. Hubs pounded the whole thing Ma had Kinoko...I wanted that but just doesn't have enough meat for me. If I could pair that with a NY steak that would be perf! She said good...she had choke leftovers too. Niece had the chicken alfredo. She ate most of the noods and some of the rest. Could use more bread...baby ate like half that sucker. Overall pretty good...one day i'll do the kinoko...and steak.

We started off with the Rigo Caeser Salad and it was one of the better Caesar salads I've had. Fresh ingredients and their homemade dressing complemented each other very well. Not too heavy and light enough to satisfy your salad cravings. Next we had the Gambas al Ajillo, tapas made with shrimp, garlic, and olive oil. It was also very good and reminded me of the same dish I had in Barcelona. For our entree, we had the Seafood Caldoso, which was excellent! I've never had this before as I usually have paella but decided to try it based on the server's recommendation. It is similar to paella but more brothy. The flavors blended well and the soup adds a nice element to the variety of seafood you get. I enjoyed this more than the paella and will definitely order it again. The service here was excellent. Very attentive and we got a lot of good suggestions on what was good and popular. The atmosphere is nice and casual. Noise level is good so you can enjoy your meal and have a nice conversation. I would recommend this place for a really nice lunch or dinner. We came for lunch and there aren't too many nice lunch spots in the area so it was a pleasant surprise!

Our favorites were the Pulpo and Crema Catalana. The Pulpo was well seasoned and wasn't too chewy. Having the Crema Catalana was a nice way to end the meal. The Seafood Paella was smaller than we thought, still very delicious but it'll only feed 2 people max.

With Onda Pasta, I'm ONDA way to pasta greatness…read more I first learned about Onda Pasta during a Yelp Elite virtual pasta making class a few months back, and gosh, Andrea serves a quality product. The base is with semolina flour, eggs, and flour; simple enough, right? But his pasta has more depth to it, and the fact that it's homemade shows. Some varieties include squid ink pasta, spaghetti, and rigatoni. Find him and his small, humble team at the Aloha Farm Lovers Kaka'ako market on Saturday mornings from 8 am-12 pm, and the Kailua one on Sunday mornings from 8 am-12 pm. They are enthusiastic, and more than happy to recommend pasta varieties based on what kind of pasta you desire to whip up!

Fresh, homemade pasta, and unique, authentic sauces. I think I just died and went to pasta heaven…read more Andrea is a super cool guy, setting up shop every weekend at the Kakaako and Kailua farmers market, selling his homemade pasta dishes. On today's farmers market adventure, my sister, my mom, and I set out for some cool local finds and came across Onda Pasta while looking for lunch. Andrea is super knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. We talked a bunch about pasta and I was surprised to find out that he makes everything himself! I purchased his mafaldine pasta (uncooked) and corn pesto sauce. Upon returning home, I was so excited to try out my purchase. The entire process took less than 10 minutes. Talk about a quick and easy meal! Andrea suggested I bring the pasta water to a boil and let the pasta cook for four minutes and that's exactly what I did. After letting the noodles cool I taste tested the noodles (of course) and they were perfect. Al dente! The perfect amount of chewy and taste. While boiling the noodles, I heated up the pasta sauce. The corn pesto was the perfect amount of sweet and savory. At the farmers market, Andrea suggested we add bits of crispy bacon and cheese to garnish our dish with. I unfortunately had neither bacon nor cheese so I made it my own and garnished it with baby tomatoes and basil from my garden. And let me tell you, he does not skimp on the pasta or sauce. One container of pasta and one container of sauce fed myself, my grandma, and mom comfortably. All in all, if you're looking for a quick, homemade, cook at home pasta meal, Onda Pasta is where it's at!
