The first time I had Amina Pizzeria was from my boyfriend! I pass by this place so often that I didn't even notice what a gem this place is!! The price is very reasonable and not to mention the food is really really delicious!! Every single time we came here, whatever we got was always delicious!! They are consistent which is the key!! This time I came to order a load for 3 people! Was it too much? Probably but I'm one of those where my eyes have a bigger appetite than my stomach does! I ordered pesto, tomato and cheese French bread pizza, sausage, pepperoni, and mushroom French bread pizza, chicken garlic and mushroom calzone, vegetarian penne Rosa pasta, and garlic cheese bread!! XD Probably ordered way more than we can actually eat, but oh wells! It is locally owned and I could always eat the left overs the next day!! If you haven't tried this gem, I would say to definitely give them a try because they are really good and delicious! Parking is located on Fern the lot is very small and tight. Or there is street parking but very limited. The store front is located on Kalakaua so you have to walk around the corner and it's the little shop in the middle. They only have take out since it is very small inside. Before COVID they used to have tables inside but now they use the space for storage of their ingredients. They have 2 little seats inside to wait but best to wait outside of there is already other people waiting for their order as it can get a bit crammed in such a small space and gotta remember to social distance. Their pizzas are pretty pricey but definitely worth it. I decided to try the calzone it was delicious the only comment I would make is that I wish they spread the cheese out in mine is was all a big blob on one side of the calzone and I threw most of it away because it was too much. They give a marinara sauce for the calzone and if a container existed that was wider that would be great because I was dipping my calzone into the marinara since it is so big but the calzone couldn't really dip in the small container. My bf got the meatball and bell pepper he liked it and we also got the hot wings. They weren't hot at all one of the wings looked funky and dark and when I ate it it kinda tasted odd. What can I say? This place is hands down the best pizza place in the Honolulu area! This is a take out only location with parking located behind the building. You really can't sleep on this place. I love pasta! Since one year old until before I came in here, I always have pasta on my birthday. No missed years! But since, I got GERD I need to let go for that tradition but on the brighter side, I can still eat pasta once in a blue moon with my med on the side. Anyhow, decided to have a takeout pasta in here for dinner. In less than 10-minute stroll from where we live, finally our pizza cravings will be fullfilled. This pizzeria place was facing Kalakaua Avenue Right next to a cigarette store. Pretty extensive menu but we are focused on a spaghetti. So off for "spaghetti with Alfredo sauce" and "bolognese spaghetti" for my bandit. I personally enjoyed my choice. Less chicken but the sauce is so creamy. That nuttiness from the parmesan cheese adds the whole level of flavor. Plating wise is not impressive but when you taste it you will be delighted. My bandit's pasta on the other hand is as equal as great like mine. The bolognese sauce is so rich in flavor and that umami did a great kick on it too. The bacon, minced beef, tomatoes & the parmesan cheese is the perfect team on the pasta! Oh goodness! It was a heavenly pasta party at our tiki nest. Amina, the owner is such a friendly & hardworking woman. She also told us that her business was located once in Kailua & decided to continue the business on her current location. I am glad that. Her business is still operating right now & somehow manage to serve her patrons. Verdict: It's been two months now since we last ordered food in here & I tell you, on the coming days or months or years I will be coming back in here and tried the pizza or the calzone. We both enjoyed the pasta that we ordered. By the way, this place cant accommodate big groups, so they are better for taking out the food & eat somewhere (the beach area will be a great choice). Worked Super Bowl Sunday and now I'm hangry...but the places I was thinking were closed by then :/ aww. I really wanted a sammie and came up with Amina's it was in my list and it came in perfectly for me today. Pictures do help and some of them wasn't on the menu like the veggie lasagna which is a cheese lasagna topped with broccoli, peppers, mushrooms and spinach...it was good a decent price for portion size. What I went for was the Amina special sandwich (turkey pastrami, pepperoni, mozzarella, sautéed onions with lettuce and tomatoes on a giant bread (looked like half a baguette) in all yum! Sandwich itself was boxed dry with a packet of Mayo and mustard with a ramekin of vinaigrette which made it amazing!! It's not the meat lovers or veggie packed at all just a simple sandwich toasted perfectly. The bread was just right enough to hold it all in as I dipped each bite in the yummy vinaigrette. Woah. I was originally going to get a calzone from this place but I saw the ravioli (I haves weakness for spinach ravioli) and it got good reviews, so I had to try it. I have no regrets. It was so good. It's baked with a layer of cheese on top. The ravioli was super tasty. The filling and sauce were simple, but I think that's what helped the dish really stand out. Just wholesome, good ravioli. I feel a little weird in doing this, but I'm going to rave about the bread. I didn't realize it came with a piece of bread, so it was a nice surprise. Like oh, there's bread! But folks, this bread is so good. Nice and toasty on the outside but the inside is so nice a fluffy. And I think the thickness of it (thiccc) helps make it feel even more fluffy. And there's a butteriness to it without it feeling too oily. Omg it's so good. I would pay for more of this bread. Anyway, I hope to come back soon to try that calzone, if I don't end up reverting back to the ravioli (and the bread!). read more

Came here two days in a row. The food is excellent, it's approved by our Italian friend, he tried the lasagna, the pizza, the meatball sandwich, and even the salad. It's a small place, better for takeout, but there are 4 tables where you can eat your food. The Lady was super nice and helpful, she brought our food out and made sure that we were happy with everything. All the food items were fresh, not greasy, and most meat items were also halal, she told us which were not. We've been to this Pizzeria in the past so I'm bummed that I'm finally getting around to leaving a review. The sweet lady that runs this shop knows what she is doing -- and her hospitality has remained consistent over the course of every visit. Pizza is good. Never too greasy and the thin crust is never too soggy. The topping are very generous and the pizza sauce marries each slice absolutely perfectly. During our most recent visit, we even took some salads to go. I loved their homemade pickled onions on their house salad -- added the right amount of tang and good flavor to the bed of greens. My brother said his antipasto salad was really good too. Definitely would recommend this family owned pizzeria to all of those traveling in from near or far. The food was so good I had to eat here twice. Both times I got the spinach and garlic calzone while my wife got pizza. The calzone was *chefs kiss* and they offer extra marinara sauce if you ask them. The nice thing about Amina Pizzeria is that their prices are relatively affordable compared to the rest of the area. I could barely finish my calzone and we always had leftover pizza which actually reheated very well. The owner is very kind and let us know which dishes were halal and which weren't. They don't really have parking so you have to pull up and wait on the side of the road, luckily both times there's been a traffic guard to help us grab our food. I just found out that this may be the only halal pizza joint in Hawaii? Rejoice halal foodies! I remember going to this place years ago and the food was so freaking good. I was starving after the Van Gogh exhibit and this place popped up on Yelp. As Emi mentioned, parking is the shared lot in back. It was 8pm on a Sunday and we found a few empty spots. Small little hole in the wall off of Kalakaua, there are 4 tables to dine in. You order and pay before sitting. The menu is an array of pizzas, french bread pizza, pasta, lasagna, calzones and salads. They have canned drinks and brownies & cheesecake for dessert. Chicken marinara spaghetti ($12.95). The spaghetti was a perfect al dente and came within a five minutes of our order. The marinara sauce was tasty though a bit on the sweet side. Chicken breast was a bit dry. The accompanying french bread was in the shape of a heart (so cute!!) and absolutely delicious, perfectly toasted and texture. I wanted more and luckily, we got french bread pizza so more was on the way. I learned that they made their own french bread in house. Pepperoni and mushroom french bread pizza ($9.95). The order comes with four pieces. Decent sized serving. We had to take two pieces home from being full already. Although they don't serve alcohol, you can't bring your own either, I called to ask and they have a sign up. Definitely did not disappoint for a quick inexpensive dinner. This is a pretty legit Italian hole in the wall restaurant! Parking is around the back off Fern st, it's pretty small and a little tight. They have a bunch of choices other than pizza, they have calzones as well as pasta dishes. There were so many choices on their small menu , they have 3 different sizes for pizza from small square personal size to 12" and 14" sizes. Depending on the pizza, i feel the prices are a little more on the expensive side for what you're getting as the medium 12" combination that we got was about $20. The smaller personal size is made on french bread rather than dough. They use the same french bread on their Italian subs that are pretty huge. The pizza has a really good taste to them definitely reminds me of a more upscale school style pizzas. There are a good amount of toppings on them and the pizza smelled so good on the drive home with the meat balls and the onions. I still need to go back and try their spaghetti and their calzones and their bread sticks looked really tasty too! read more

There is limited free parking available in the back of the building, as there is a private parking lot (the parking lot is off of Fern Street). Upon walking into Amina Pizzeria, I was greeted right away, and after looking over the wall menu I decided to get a Spinach & Garlic Calzone. What can I say about the grub? Simply OUTSTANDING! My Spinach & Garlic Calzone came out piping hot & was loaded with veggies. The pastry crust was nicely done, and the Calzone also came with a delicious marinara sauce that I could dip my calzone in. If you're not into calzones, this little pizzaria offers regular pizza's, French Bread pizza, salads, sandwiches, as well as pasta's. I'm pretty sure that they will have a little something to interest your taste buds.......... Not a bad calzone at all, especially for being in Hawaii. It was a decent size. $13 for the spinach and garlic with meatballs added. Plenty of cheese and filling. Good flavors with the garlic. I think I'd get one again from them. Not sure about their pizzas. I didn't try one but don't think I would either. Nothing against their pizzas but I just think for pizza you'd have better luck at dominos or Pieology for the price, just my two cents. I'd stick with the calzones here. Don't think you can go wrong with them. The sauce was generic as mentioned in the other reviews but still worked with the calzone. I'm glad it was there. Having grown up in NY, I just like calzones and it's nice to know I can get one living way out here in Hawaii and I think this will be my spot to get my fix. Service was great and they were very fast. Ordered over the phone. Took me about 10 minutes to walk there and it was ready when I got there. I absolutely loved the older lady working the register. I am in love with their spaghetti with meat sauce here! It's my favorite because it tastes so similar to my mom's recipe. The portion is very generous and the sauce is slightly sweet (not like Filipino spaghetti) but I'm assuming they add a touch of sugar to make it not taste as acidic. Inside they don't allow dine-in anymore due to COVID-19 restrictions and when my bf and I went here, we did takeout. I don't use 3rd party ordering apps so I'm not sure if they offer that. Everything here is very affordable and the owner is the sweetest lady. I think she does everything by herself. She's the cook and cashier. I also like their New York cheesecake. This is one of the best pizzerias I have been to in my life, hands down, AND it is HALAL (everything but the chicken. Just make sure you request Halal). The crust and bread Amina serves are impeccably soft and yet firm at the same time. Not chewy, tough or rough like many places. It's also clear to me the owner uses QUALITY clean ingredients, which is rare to find nowadays. Amina proudly showcases her pure ingredients right up in her store front. Dishes I recommend (aside from um, everything!): Mushroom Pepperoni Calzone (incredibly soft and flavorful, the red sauce it comes with is also very fresh). Pepperoni pizza. Beef lasagna. Brownie. We are visitors to Honolulu however before we left, we rushed to grab Amina's for lunch, in order to avoid the generic airport food. And my, was that a great decision! The food stayed fresh for 2 days as we had enough leftovers to store away (you know it's quality when it stays soft and fresh after fridge time). Not to mention, we asked her to package the food in foil and she wrapped each pizza slice individually - what thoughtfulness and amazing customer service!
