We got the 3 way and it was so stellar, labneh is wonderfully creamy pairs with the pomegranate it was divine also mixing it with the muttabal for that smoky profile really made the fresh pita sing. Falafel was so crispy and had a fantastic mouth feel not dry or crumbly at all perfectly oily and bouncy. Had knafeh for the first time and my god this is the best dessert I've had in a long time I mean jaw dropping good. The floral syrup that goes on top really ties the flavors together with the rich cheese and incredible crunch exterior I wish I could eat 10 of these! I have loved the food at Ammatoli for a few years now, I was introduced to the restaurant when it was still order-at-the-counter style. I was so happy for them when they converted to a bigger dining experience and really turned the notch up on their menu. Recently did their Dine LA menu and it was delicious. The labneh is always a favorite and their friend kibbeh are just perfect bites. My friend and I are a fan of their manoushe offerings and we always have to order one whenever we stop in for dinner! Their lamb chops are tasty but I have to say, their chicken dishes are the best! That spicy garlic lemon chicken is such a classic to eat at Ammatoli and I crave it often. I took a group of coworkers to this restaurant, because I'd heard good things about it. It was very busy when we got there, so make sure to get reservations. The waitress was kind, but I felt like she was trying to sell us on the plate of the day, and also the lemonade and iced teas. The Arnold Palmer was fine, but it wasn't super delicious like I've had it other restaurants. My friends, we ordered the lemon, garlic chicken, and I ordered hummus, and tabbouleh , and it was delicious! We also had to order Pita bread extra on the side, which was a little strange. It just felt like everything was extra and came with an extra price. The drinks didn't have refills either which was off putting,The food was delicious overall. The place was very pretty, and there were so many people there, enjoying themselves. I don't know if I would go back, but I would recommend it as a one time spot if you love Mediterranean food. The decor and ambience of this restaurant is spectacular. Classy, elegant, and extreme attention to detail. This by far is one of the prettiest Middle Eastern restaurants I have been to. The staff was kind, attentive and friendly. I first ordered a glass of wine, return it because it tasted old. We ordered the homemade bread with hummus, which was warm and delicious. To eat, I had the chicken & ground beef kebab, tabouli, and a salad. The chicken and ground beef kebabs were delicious. The tabouli and green salad were not fresh. The green salad had brown spots and didn't have any dressing. I was very disappointed. We also ordered the roasted chicken thigh, which was juicy, but the portion was minimal. For dessert we shared three different cookies which were very yummy. I don't think I'll be back to this restaurant, but it's great for cocktails and appetizers. Visited Ammatoli for a work lunch with 8 people total and it was such a great experience overall! From the easy reservation process for a group to the incredible food and exceptional service, Ammatoli is such a gem. For appetizers for the table, we got fries, pita and hummus, and cauliflower. The pita was light and fluffy and so warm. The dips included classic hummus, spicy hummus, and eggplant and they were diverse and unique. I got an Ammatoli iced tea which had mint and was cool and refreshing. My arugula and beets salad with added chicken kabob was incredible and they brought a garlic sauce for the chicken which added so much flavor. Beautiful interior with so much decor and a sunny patio made the perfect atmosphere. Chef Dima has put so much attention to detail and incorporated her culture into every aspect of this restaurant and menu. This is a must try spot in Long Beach! read more

We made the perfect choice for our New Years Day 2025 dinner. Ammatoli gave us an unforgetable meal and memorable service by Jennifer J. We only live less than 2 blocks away & we were always walking past, seeing the meals and taking in the aroma of the food. We decide what better day than New Years Day to stop in. We had 5:15 reservations (we were shocked that they had availability). We arrived about 5:05 and we're seated promptly at 5:15. I'm not sure of the hostesses name, but she was very friendly, welcoming and had a big smile. Walking inside, it was gorgeous. The decor and ambiance was amazing, classy yet not formal. Thank goodness because we were bundled up and warm, we wouldn't have passed for formal. We were seated in the far corner near the dessert display and the bar. Everything looked great and the seats were very comfortable. Our tabled was lightly lit, gave it a romantic feel. Again, perfect! Our waitress, Jennifer J approached, bright smile and glowing personaility. We welcomed us and as first timers went over the menu, offered a couple suggestions for drinks and promptly returned with a Mint Lemonade (OMG it was good). Great recommendation Jennifer. She gave her her personal faves as well as popular menu items. For appetizers, we chose Roasted Beets Labne (a dip of sorts similar to a hummus only more creamy). The way Jennifer described it made us want to try it, and she was on point. It had a little tartness from what I believe was a sour cream mixed with beet. It's tough to explain but try it, definitely won't be disappointed. Oh and get the fresh baked pita, delicious! We also had the Fried Cauliflower, it was so good. Came with a dipping sauce but honestly it didn't even need it, it was bursting with flavor without it. Then the main course, my wife went with a popular item the Spicy Garlic Lemon Chicken. She devoured it, nothing left on her plate, she said it was amazing. I had the Moussaka, a favorite of mine and it did not disappoint. The sauce that came with it was very spicy, I couldn't use it but my wife said it had good flavor. The Mint Lemonade was addicting. Refills for free? Unfortunately not, made me sad. LOL We wanted dessert but we're so stuffed, told (promised) Jennifer we'd come back and ask for her because she described everything so well she had us salivating as we fought the urge to order more. Amatoli continues to be one of the best dining experiences in Long Beach. I recently took my mom there for dinner--it's actually her favorite restaurant--and once again everything was fantastic. We had reservations for 5pm and sat out on the patio, which is a beautiful and comfortable spot to enjoy dinner. Within about 30 minutes the restaurant was completely packed, which speaks volumes about how popular this place is. Our server Francis was awesome. He was super personable, friendly, and very patient while answering all of our questions about the menu. He took the time to explain things and made the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. We started with the lamb and beef dumplings, which were incredible. The filling is seasoned similar to kafta, and the flavor was rich, perfectly spiced, and absolutely delicious. For our main dishes we ordered the four skewers with chicken and beef, and everything was phenomenal. The meat was tender, juicy, and perfectly grilled with a great smoky flavor. We also had the rice, which was delicious and paired perfectly with the skewers. This wasn't our first time here--we've been many times--and the food and service are consistently outstanding. Between the lively atmosphere, the amazing food, and the excellent service from Francis, it's easy to see why Amatoli is such a favorite. I initially called this restaurant after accidentally selecting the wrong day for a reservation. The person answer the phone in my opinion should not be allowed on the telephone. They had an inability to understand my simple request. Change the day of my reservation to one day later. And also change my booking from four people to six people. It was like a comedy show trying to explain this to the person on the phone. I turned up on the day of my reservation early because I'm a courteous person The two members of staff sitting outside the restaurant looks like they would rather be anywhere than at work and their attitude. When I spoke to them was horrendous. I pointed out. We had a reservation for a group of six people. They argued with me and basically suggested I was lying to them I pointed out. I had a reservation for six people, and I sat down outside waiting for my party. I waited for 20 minutes, walked in the restaurant to sit at the bar to have a drink walk back outside to greet the rest of my party. I'm telling them that my party were here which was about 40 minutes after I arrived. They didn't told me they did not have a table for me. I then had the misfortune to speak to one of the managers who was equally arrogant and rude after a battle. We eventually got somewhere to sit. The biggest problem with this place is the arrogance and laziness of the staff. I run a business. I manage over 200 individuals and I would not work with anyone who had this awful attitude. I had a fantastic time at this restaurant with my college best friend and his boyfriend. ***LOCATION*** This Levantine cuisine restaurant is located in downtown Long Beach. We parked our car in a parking garage not too far away. ***EXPERIENCE*** My friend is obsessed with the food here. He likes this spot so much, he came for his birthday a couple months ago. It has a vibe for sure. It's absolutely gorgeous and I adore that they play Arabic music here. Growing up part Arab, this place triggered a special type of nostalgia in me with their decor and music. Since this was my bestie's fave restaurant, I told him to order for us. Our party decided to do family style and had some dietary restrictions. I think on the next visit I'd be interested in trying some lamb and meat dishes. We got: Pita: A great side order for the sauces and dips you get. Spicy Hummus: Delicious and creamy hummus and yes, it is spicy. Fried Cauliflower: Not much to say besides this was tasty! Batata Harra: These spicy potatoes had a delightful kick and were yummy. Shawarma Chicken Wrap: The garlic sauce was absolutely incredible, unfortunately beyond that, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The chicken was a little dry for me. It was a generous portion though. Spicy Garlic Lemon Chicken Plate: This is my friend's favorite dish here. The presentation was beautiful. I found the chicken to be a bit dry. This also came with the heavenly garlic sauce. Tahini Chocolate Cookie: So delicious, we took these home (and I devoured them). Kunefa: 5 star dessert. This was my pick. This rich cheesy and crunchy dessert is a favorite in my household and I haven't been able to find an authentic and delicious one where I live. Let me tell you, this kunefa is the real deal!!! Fantastic experience at Ammatoli from the exceptional service with Alix (Alex?) to the wonderful food. Every dish was seasoned beautifully and tasted fantastic. Standout dishes included the muhammara, falafel, shishbarak, and the Palestinian msakhan. But it seems like anything here would be delicious. We sat outside which was perfect for conversation. The ambiance inside is warm and welcoming, and was not very loud even though the restaurant was full. Alix was incredibly patient, kind, and attentive which made the evening even more special. We made a reservation a month before dining, and saw lots of people being turned away without reservations. We started with some beverages. Definitely get the mint lemonade! It's well worth it. My friend got a non-alcoholic champagne which tastes just like champagne. Our server Dana was amazing. I had many questions and she answered them all. We started with some appetizers: Muhammara: roasted peppers, walnuts, tahini, pomegranate molasses, nigella seeds, EVOO "Yalanji" Grape Leaves: rice, tomato, parsley, onion, EVOO, fresh mint Falafel Mezze: falafels, turnip, tahini sauce I loved everything! The muhammara was perfection! Beautiful flavors! The falafels were also delicious! I loved how the grape leaves were perfectly tart. Don't forget to order some freshly baked pita bread as well! We had the Ammatoli Mixed Mashawi: 4 skewers (chicken, kafta, lamb, ribeye steak) with roasted tomatoes. A huge portion and all the meats were prepared well -- tender and moist! First the hostess said we could be seated in 15 min but we ended up waiting around 35 minutes for a table at the bar. Then we got asked if we wanted sparkling or still water without telling us that the sparkling was going to cost extra. Also, if you get the 3 or 6 way mezza, I feel like it should automatically come with pita bread because how else are you suppose to enjoy those scrumptious dips? We ended up ordering another pita bread anyway but still I feel like they are trying to nickel and dime you. The mashawi was also pretty sad and I felt like could have came with better sides or even just rice. Just tried this spot in DTLB and loved it! I had the beef shawarma and the spicy potatoes! Washed that down with a smooth Turkish coffee that hit the spot. We sat outdoor and enjoyed the sunshine like a satisfied stuffed puppy. Customer service was next level, our server Francis was very courteous and thorough. He made us feel welcome and seen.
