Amphora was excellent! We started with the eggplant frites which were crispy on the outside soft on the inside and perfectly seasoned, the saganaki was to die for (served with perfectly seasoned pita) and sampled the fried feta... also delicious. The salad dressing is perfectly seasoned. For a meal I had the chicken and steak over rice pilaf. Both the chicken and steak were perfectly cooked and the rice pilaf was moist and flavorful. I ended up taking most of it home because the portions were extreme generous... and for dessert the Galaktouboreko... so buttery and sweet. The staff was as amazing as the food! I had lunch there with my wife today, and boy am I glad I did! Our feta dip appitizer was OUTSTANDING, as were the sandwiches we had, mine was steak tip, and hers pork. We were so impressed that we did something we never do when we go out for lunch, we had dessert. Baklava and rice pudding were both so good. We will be back, and it will be soon! I stopped in Amphora the other day out of curiosity to what this new restaurant was. To my surprise it's Greek food, better than any I've ever had! The quality of the food is what I'd expect from New York City, but I didn't break bank as the prices are very reasonable. The fish in philo dough with a side of roasted potatoes is what I had and it was good enough for me to crave it for dinner every night so far. All in all very very happy with Amphora. LOVE this place! The most authentic Greek restaurant in the area by far...and the service is always top-notch. My favorites are the taramosalata or tzatziki with warm pita bread, moussaka, and the Thracian chicken sandwich. Really, I've never had a bad meal here. Great service! I am a foodie so I must say, the food is a hit or a miss.. Mainly a hit. I am a bit disappointed by the tzatziki and the gyro.. Not the traditional Greek style, however very close to it. It's not a 5 star restaurant so I must say u get what u paid for. Visited this restaurant on rave reviews from others. Calamari app was good although ordered gyro sandwich and was very disappointed to see preformed meat patties?? Having personally been to the Mediterranean, this was just very disappointing. Maybe other things on the menu are better but how could you mess up a classic greek sandwich. Might be back. read more

I have enjoyed the wonderful food at this restaurant on several occasions. My most recent visit was again, wonderful. We ordered both the hummus and the Tzatziki appetizers. The were served with grill pita bread. I ordered a lamb sandwich. The meat was cooked medium just like I asked. My dinner companions ordered the lamb kabob and the gyro sandwich. Both were given high praise. We were all stuffed but after seeing the delicious dessert on the way in we ordered a couple of slices to go. Overall the service was excellent and the food quality was exceptional. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

yummy yummy in my tummy!!!! Tried this place out last week for take-out. Ordered stuff off their grille menu, Chicken and Vegetables. The rice pilaf was awesome, the food was all cooked perfectly and i love their house dressing. The restaurant seemed clean and neat. The kitchen was semi-open which i like. Went there for dinner. Started with Chicken Avgolemino Soup - delicious! My wife had the Mousaka. I had the lamb Souvlaki dinner on pilaf - very tasty! I think the high point was the Galaktoboureko - soft and custardy on the inside, with crunchy Filo pastry on top. To die for! We happened to walk by this restaurant one day and went in to try. We have already been back for seconds! The food was fantastic and the service was fast and very pleasant. The first time we had the Amphora chicken and haddock wrapped in dough and musroom sauce- both were delicious! The second time we sampled the lamb Souvlaki and the Gyro, both were perfect. This place is easy to overlook = it's in a strip mall in a location that is not a destination but just a way to get somewhere else. It's really worth it though! After reading the reviews I was very excited to try Amphora. Sadly, it did not live up to the reviews. Started the meal with chicken soup only to find several bones in the chicken. The lamb suvlaki was charred on the outside and uncooked on the inside. The lemon roasted potatoes were soaked in lemon juice but only on the underside and after they were cooked. Service was also a problem as the waitress never returned after she served our entrees. Not even salt and pepper shakers on the tables. I ordered iced tea and there no sugar or other sweeteners were offered. All in all a very expensive, very sad dinner. Perhaps it was just an off night, but I will not be trying it again. read more

My husband and I went there last night for the first time and were definitely impressed. We had the Kreatpita as an appetizer and filo dough was flaky and delicious. I think the only thing that could have made it better would be if it was served with some kind of sauce but it was pretty tasty on its own. I got the Gyro sandwich with the feta fries. The sandwich was great and the fries were to die for! My husband's dish was excellent too. The chicken was flavorful and tender and the rice pilaf was very good.
