We were a group of 8 people and we called in advance to book our table for Sunday lunch. When we reached there the table was setup by the restaurant. We were greeted by our server with menus along with Mint and Tamarind Chutney and we started with Chicken Tandoori and Avocado Puri. Chicken tandoori was hot. It was good in taste. Then we got our avocado puri. It was one of the best dish for our lunch. Then we started with our drinks which included Shikanjvi, Salty Lassi, Cucumber Rus along with Paneer Tikka, Gobi Manchurian and Samosa Chat. The drinks we ordered were good and refreshing. The Samosa Chat was okay. Gobi Manchurian was good and tasty. Then we ordered our lunch which included Malai Kofta, Palak Paneer, Garlic Naan, Garlic Cheese Naan, Aloo Naan, Rogan Josh and Butter Chicken. Malai kofta and palak panner was good and delicious. Biggest disappointment of the lunch were rogan josh and butter chicken. They could have been better. Then we ordered desert which included Dessert Platter and Rasmalai. Amrit is one of my favorite restaurants in Ocala! Quality Indian food and friendly service make this restaurant a consistent top choice of mine. The slightly gaudy decor makes me smile, authentic Indian music plays (maybe a little too loudly) but upon entering, I feel immersed in the culture. The smells of delicious spice varieties paired with the joyful smiles of the staff make for an experience for all of the senses. I often come here for lunch, for which they offer complementary daal soup. A mild lentil soup with cilantro on top is the perfect preface to a great Indian meal. The naan varieties here are amazing, though I always choose the "garlic cheese" variety. I love dipping the naan in masala sauce, if accompanied my paneer tiki masala beautifully! I have gotten braver with my requested spice levels and recently have changed from "mild/mild plus" to "medium". If it gets a little too spicy for my low tolerance, I request a mango lassi (a creamy yogurt drink) to ease my palate. The wait staff here are phenomenally attentive and kind. I have never had anything but impressive service at Amrit. Meals are served with complimentary jasmine rice, and their delivery/to-go service is impeccably packed and easy to transfer. Given the fatty foodies that we are, my husband and I decided to get a second dinner here while finishing up our first dinner at another restaurant. We had heard that this place was one of the more popular restaurants for Indian food. I ordered my usual chicken tikka masala. It was very good, the sauce was more sweet compared to other places and the medium spice level was not too spicy. Can definitely go more spicy next time. There were large pieces of breast meat with chunks of peppers and onions. I had so much leftover sauce I actually made my own chicken the next day and reused the sauce. We also got some garlic naan which was good, but more oily compared to other places. My husband loved the gulab and the mango lassi was decent (less creamy compared to other places). Overall a very solid Indian joint, would be interested in trying other curries on their menu. read more

Wow! Yes, Wow! If you enjoy this type of food and flavors, run as fast as you can and taste everything! Ha I have worked up here for years and had never been. A friend said they have been coming here for over 20 years. My mom always wanted to eat here but hadn't tried it. So when I was in town, I picked up a to go order to surprise my Mom with delicious food. Plenty of parking, the restaurant appears super clean, the kitchen side door opened and the kitchen was spotless. The employees are friendly and helpful. They told me everything is made from s ratchet and that it's family owned. I ordered butter chicken, Chana makana, onion chutney with naan bread. Let me just tell you now to help you out.... order a large onion chutney. I haven't stopped thinking of this since I left. I am salivating just thinking of the food and typing this. Seriously. That good. My Mom loves it all. The servings are a good portion too. My Mom recruited a neighbor to go dine soon, and when I am back visiting, I will 100% be eating here. This time in house!! So good ! My husband and sister in law had to tell me to shut up because I could not stop saying " this is so goooood". I split the dinner for two, this came with soup to start, an appetizer ( fried items), two entrees, naan, rice, and dessert. We tried the chicken tandoori and the chicken curry. All I have to say is wow! Absolutely wow. Definitely a taste you'd think you'd get from home only but I'm truly impressed because everything was perfect. My brother in law and I visited Amrit this evening for dinner and I have to say, we're impressed. We started our food journey by getting their chicken tikkah! Yum yum and more yum when I say tensor, delicious and mouth watering chicken breast with some spice and with a lemon squeeze it's a party for your mouth! We also got the Lamb Bhuna which is basically a lamb curry with some onions and this delicious zest of braised lamb meat with a kick! It's not too spicy so anyone can definitely indulge! Their white rice and chunteys and other sides they give with your order are ALL INCREDIBLE! Their garlic naan is phenomenal as well and it's something you can simply binge on while watching your favorite television show hahaha! The women at the front desk and I believe the manager with the beard and collard shirt were both amazing and really friendly. We had to tell him that we wanted our food, "extra desi style" hahaha! Decent. Well worth the three stars. Some issues all around but for the most part, the Indian food was forgettable. Rice was a shared dish among the four of us. The waiter brought it to the table and as he set it down, he spilled a quarter of it and said he would clean it up later. We would rather not have scooped the rice up from the table and put it back on the plate, so we awkwardly kept eating as onlookers probably judged us. (Funny In my opinion) the curry was ok. The lamb curry had more bones than meat. The potatoes in it were soft and flavorful. Although they didn't exactly burst with flavor, as a lover of the starch, I enjoyed it. The appetizer was decent. One small piece each. The dipping sauce we got more of and used. Over all, normal Indian food with a much higher price tag. Not worth the money in my opinion. If you want to spend more money for less food and eat feeling like an animal from a metal dish, then hey, come here. If not, then there's better food than Amrit Palace read more
