One of our circuit breakers had failed and we lost power to our furnace and refrigerator. Arrived a little late but was very professional, diagnosed the problem, suggested options. They replaced the circuit breaker in the main panel and re routed some of the wiring to spread the load. We added a surge protector as they recommended. We had AMS out to diagnose and fix a 220v dryer outlet that had lost power. AMS showed up the very next day, on time, and diagnosed the problem (a bad load shedding circuit board from an external generator connection). A bit later in the day, they returned with a replacement part and completed the repair. I couldn't be happier with the service that Kenan and the gentleman helping him provided. I read the all-star reviews here and decided to go with AMS for my light fixture problem. I'm going to leave my honest review here for a different perspective: 1. It's not free evaluation. There's $109 (incl. tax) diagnostics fee. Once the scheduling was done, AMS was no longer responsive to my message. Were I to learn from them I needed to have the new light fixture ready, it could have been fixed on the same day as the diagnostics was done. But no, nothing was fixed on that day, and I waited two days for another quote, which was a separate cost from the diagnostics fee. 2. For this light fixture issue Aaron identified, it was basically to replace part of the burnt wire, and install the new light fixture I bought. The quote was $500 before tax. I know it's a rip-off because I ended up getting it fixed with another electrician for literally 1/3 of the price. The lesson learned is to not trust yelp reviews too much, and make sure to get multiple quotes and solutions for comparison. ----------- Addressing AMS's reply: Interestingly it was never mentioned to me at the diagnostics time that "extensive rewiring is required to bring it up to code". In fact according to Aaron it was a pretty straightforward fix, so I was surprised to find out how much it would cost by their estimate and started asking around. On the flip side, I guess it was possible for Aaron to go home, ponder for two days, and come up with a more complicated fix for my light fixture issue without taking any pictures onsite. Five of our electric outlets were failing one by one. I called AMS and was able to schedule someone to come out within a few days. The scheduler was very courteous and helpful. Then Ryan was able to diagnose the problem and did a very thorough job fixing all the outlets, even including one outdoor GFI one with a cover. We're very thankful for having working outlets again. I've heard that you can wait for a long time before you can get someone to come out, but we were pleasantly surprised how quickly they sent someone out. Instead of an hourly rate, they also have one set price per item so there are no surprises when you get the bill. read more

Where do I begin? WHAT A BREATH OF FRESH AIR! Such a rare find in this day and age. I'm so thrilled with this company that I feel like climbing to my roof top and shouting to the world how great they are! COMMUNICATION WAS SPOT ON FROM START TO FINISH. They promptly got back to me the day of my inquiry. They set a day and time which was 2 days away. They followed up with a reminder on the day of service that they were coming and when they would be coming. They sent me a message that they were on their way - ALONG WITH a picture of the Electrician and his background. He showed up on time. Kenan was so very pleasant and even put on booties when he entered our home. He radiated confidence in his knowledge of our electrical problem. He was able to immediately identify and fix it. AMS responded with the appropriate questions and a very reasonable quote to replace/update my 70s breaker panel and bring it all up to code. I received 4 quotes, two of which gave simply hourly prices, and one that insisted on visiting me and discussing options, which was more than double that of AMS. I felt they were professional throughout, forgiving for a bit of a late payment, the work was great, they worse masks and slippers, they cleaned up after themselves, and labelled all breakers at the end. They also accommodated external painters requiring power throughout the day. I've had many contractors and subs do work over the past 3 homes I've owned. I'm pretty knowledgeable in regards to construction and electrical, but not an expert. I hired AMS last month to trouble shoot some things, re-wire some outlets, hang lighting fixtures, move outlets, etc. They did an amazing job. They were on time, on budget, very experienced, and fast. I was very pleased with the work they did. The owner even came out to help one of his employees! We were moving an outlet that required one person to go below the house and one stay above. He volunteered to go under the house. I asked the worker why he didn't go under instead of his boss. He said, that's just the type of guy he is. I was surprised he chose to go into a very closed in and confined crawl space and the employee stay up stairs. That may not seem like a big deal, but I believe it speaks highly of the leadership of the company. I would have stayed on the main floor and let the employee do the dirty work! They were very courteous and clean. As far as price, they were much cheaper than any electrician I've had in the past...but the quality was great. I would 100% hire them again and would not hesitate referring them to family or friends :) read more
