Not only did he fix our Genie Garage door opener, but he realigned the door, the tracks, and rebalance the door as well. No other company have prices clearly posted. All I can say is that AMS totally lived up to the reviews. I called in the mornings and they were able to fit me in first thing. Mike and his apprentice showed up. Between talking to Mike and watching how he interacted with his apprentice, clearly he was running a quality operation where he truly cared about his work and the customer. They replaced the spring, lubricated everything and adjusted the door. I had a horrible squeak since new (the rails were misaligned)... but they fixed too. About 20 minutes later the work was done, the price was exactly as advertised, and I was extremely satisfied with the work. No one plans on having a garage door spring fail, trapping their cars. I had them replace my destroyed garage door. I custom ordered a custom one and as soon as it arrived they were out to install it. They couldn't have been more friendly or professional. I just wanted to take a minute to tell everyone about my experience with AMS Garage Doors. Mike Steward made two trips to my home (sorry missed first appointment totally my fault) to look at my garage door set up. Fantastic crew arrived exactly when expected and were done exactly in the amount of time they said. I now have a button by the door leading into my house and a keypad just outside. I also have 2 remotes, on for each of my cars. All this for an amazing price. It still amazes me just how quiet it is when it opens and shuts. This would be ten stars if I could give them that many! This company is courteous, competent, and honest. They are the best folks to call for any garage door issue. My original call was on Saturday to ask for an appointment for the following week. I expected voice mail and to leave a message but they answered and gave me the option of several different appointments. The first one available was 8 am on Monday -- which I was delighted to be able to do. I called back on Monday morning before 8 to make sure that the appointment had made it into the official schedule. It had and we were on. Have to take a moment to say how great the phone manners of everybody at the company are. They speak clearly, have information at their fingertips, and are gracious. It is such a pleasant surprise to have that nowadays. Mike, the owner, arrived in a timely manner and fixed EVERYTHING: - replace both door springs - fixed items that hadn't been done right on the original install before we bought the house - fixed the items we knew needed to be done for completing our amatuer install of a new garage door opener - fixed the items that we didn't know we had done wrong - tested everything - programmed our keypad for the garage door He worked quickly and efficiently but still answered many questions and explain what he was doing. Before he left, he explained how to test the door and know when it needed maintenance. And, he explained what to use and how to keep it lubricated. He was with us for about an hour total. I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but I am so frustrated I need to get this off my chest. I called and scheduled an appointment to have them come and install a garage door opener. On Thursday of this week. We decided to go with them, because of the stellar reviews here on Yelp. The gentleman I spoke to over the phone was actually super nice and a company we thought we'd like to work with. He put us on the schedule for Saturday the same week in between 12-2. I was so excited because again he was so nice and very professional. So it was really a surprise when no one showed today for the installation. We called the office, but I guess the office is closed on the weekend. Never even received a phone call or anything to let us know that no one was coming. We would have understood and appreciated if someone would have at least called to let us know they weren't going to make it out to us today or if they were running late. It's very unprofessional and We will never be in contact with AMSGD or will ever recommend them to anyone. The beauty of this whole thing, is we were able to get someone from another local company out here to install our opener, Garage Door Cowboys. Have an HWA home warranty and made a claim due to one of the springs and cables breaking. Didn't have a choice on who HWA would send out. Well, choice or not, I'm very happy AMSGD did the job! 8pm at night freaking out about my door that had come off the tracks. They were not able to come that late but promised to come first thing the next morning and they did. He said no problem and got to work immediately. Those sheet metal screws will come out over time and they had acutally taken part of the door with it. He put in larger bolts and banged the bent door back into shape. Took about an hour and for $80 I was good as new. I really appreciated how knowledgeable he was and how quick and professional. He said there are 3 of them and they stay fairly busy. Company truck and uniform. Very much recommended. I would say do not assume it is too early or too late to call (unless midde of the night) just call the emergency number and get on the list. I put off scheduling the repair too long and the second torsion spring finally gave up when closing the garage door after getting home from work, which meant an after hours call to AMS. No response on the office line, but Mike answered on the 24 Hour line. 1-1/2 hours later, he shows up at the house, provides me with the estimate up front, and had the door back in working order in under an hour. While on site, he also lubed the door and adjusted the opener, explained proper maintenance, and answered all of my questions.
