She took my information and verified the tech who would be able to come out . . . today between 3 and 5. Great. No problem. Matt called later in the day to let us know he had finished up early and wondered if he could come and start the job earlier. What? Wow, of course. Even greater. Horrible. Scheduled apt. Technician was 30min late- at which point I called to see if they were coming - they were stuck In traffic an hour away. I alloted a specific time to be here - I was on time and by the time he MIGHT get here I would be leaving to be available for my young son to come home from school. Tech said - oh I thought it was only an estimate ... Guess estimates aren't as important as actual JObs... Little did he know I was "fixing" the garage door... Not just obtaining an estimate... We had our new garage door installed a month ago, and are extremely satisfied with the service and quality of the door. Mike was great to work with, answering all of my questions with accuracy. He was very friendly and provided a great customer experience. I called during the final round of The Masters on a Sunday evening expecting to leave a message with a recording but a friendly person answered right away. Set me up an appointment for the following afternoon and David came out to fix our sagging 18' door that was having lots of issues. I had priced some replacement doors at Home Depot earlier in the day and they were quoting me ~$2500 to replace just the panels, not the entire assembly. David gave me a quote for an entire replacement (better door, insulated, tracks, springs, the works...) for less than half of that with no pressure to buy. We called on AMS again to have our garage door looked at after my husband backed into the door without it being fully opened. We first contacted the original installer of the door since the door was custom only to be told that the entire door would have to be replaced to the tune of $1900 without even coming out to look at the damage. The technician for AMS came out and repaired the door for a tenth of what the other company quoted and in the matter of a couple of hours. Now you can't tell there was ever damage to the door and the whole thing did not have to be replaced. AMS will always be our first call for garage door repairs in the future. read more

Weds, 8/13/14: I have reduced the stars back to 3. I've never been this up and down about a company before...but what happened today left us frustrated. We waited a week for them to come back out and do the garage door seals...that's fine. But what company (after you even request a 30-minute heads-up) just shows up, waits 10-15 minutes, THEN calls - no one answers and they just leave?! Do you think we're gonna sit around waiting for 2-3 hours at the house during a work-day, when we need to work in order to pay for your services? Typical heads-up for any service we've had is 30 minutes...that's pretty standard, and it makes sense so both parties are not wasting their time. My husband returned their call fairly quickly, but they said they had already left to go to the next job. What?! So much for giving a cushion for someone to call you back and/or even get to the house!! (And my husband works literally 5 minutes away) Thanks for wasting our time, and waiting a week for a service that never happened!! :-( Thurs, 8/7/14: I will up my stars to 4, due to the fact that they did come out and did a great job - we had a last minute request upon thinking about it to update the seal on our door. They didnt have time to accomplish it that day, but offered to come back another day with no service fee. Definitely reasonable costs for all services, I did call around to a few other places - some were upfront (and at least $100 more), then some didnt want to give a price til they came out. Yeah, I do like what I'm getting into, instead of being cornered with a sales pitch. :) read more

This was the best day ever! Mike noticed my garage was having issues from the street! he was able to open it from the outside! I did not realize how much our safety was at risk because of it. He gave me the most awesome quote ever! 130 ! all of the previous estimates were over 250 dollars and I just could not afford it. He was done in 45 minutes ! AMS is the 'Best', simply the 'Best'! One of my garage doors rolled down but did not close and would not move up. The cable and chain connection operating the opener motor had come off and damaged the plastic pulley. I called several garage repair facilities and their responses were next day/I'll call back/technician will call/will be there to check/in 2 days we can come out. Nothing really happened. Contacted AMS and explained the situation to the receptionist and her comment, 'I know exactly what you are talking about and I will contact the technician and he will be calling you'. Within 10 minutes, I received a telephone call from the technician who stated he would be at my residence in 30 minutes. In 20 minutes the technician arrived. He reviewed the requirements and proceeded to get the job accomplished, along with performing a few door adjustments/maintenance while assuring the door operated as designed. The door operated as if it was newly installed-Awesome. Technician checked my 2d door and pointed out some defects and work requirements to improve operations and longevity and I acknowledged. Pricing to accomplish the work was quite reasonable. Overall service from start (telephone conversation with the receptionist) to finish (technician completing required work and his recommendations for future work) was simply the 'Best'- really 'Awesome'. I will definitely spread the word to family and friends to call AMS when and if they have a need for garage service/maintenance/repairs. AMS can really hold class and show others what is and how to respond and provide quality customer service. read more

Well, I'm impressed. This morning at around 7:45am I heard a loud band from my garage. Went in and nothing looking out of place but the garage wouldn't open. Jumped online and looked around and found this company on yelp and saw great reviews. Went to the website and was pleased to find out the cost of all their repairs they offer. Of course, not knowing the issue, I had to call. They don't open until 9am so I called the "emergency" line. This was at about 8:15am. Mike, the owner, picked up right away (I'm pretty sure the emergency line is his cell phone). Told him the situation and he had me go out and look at the garage door and asked me if the large spring over the top had a gap in it. It did. Told me it was my torsion spring and then asked if I was just looking for a price for repair or if I wanted him to come out and fix it. Already impressed at this point, I said I would like to have it fixed as I knew the price from his website. However, with a Christmas special running, I got a discount. He said he had an appt. at 9:30am so he could swing by before that and get it fixed. He showed up at 8:50am and fixed it in 20 minutes. He also converted it to a two spring system (three year warranty), as he didn't had a single in his truck, free of charge and even educated me on garage doors and maintenance before he left. Final bill of $154.95 and the door was fixed with in 1.5 hours of breaking. Mike was friendly, courteous, and skilled. Impressive. I highly recommend this company. read more

We had our torsion spring break with both cars in the garage on a Saturday, so we were stuck. I looked up AMS on Yelp and they had great reviews and serviced the Round Rock area. I checked out their website and they offered no extra charge for emergency and weekend service, and they had all their prices listed up front. Sounded great, so I called them up and talked to Mike, who was out to our house in only a couple hours, and had the new spring installed in less that 20 minutes. He even oiled everything up for us. Mike was courteous, professional and very friendly. Everything works great now! We will definitely call AMS if we ever need garage door service in the future. read more

What I liked most about this company is that they didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. I needed a new garage door opener installed on an old garage door. They came the day after I called, installed it, lubed up the door so it became quiet, and never tried to convince me something with the door needed repairs. Too many companies nowadays aren't honest and always try to sell you something you don't really need, but they claim you need it, and if you're not knowledgeable, you don't know any better. AMSGD did not play any such games with me. On top of that, the technician that came out was professional, had no English language "challenges", was helpful, and trustworthy. Finally, their prices for typical work are posted on their web site! This is an honest and transparent way of doing business, no games of trying to charge someone who is clueless more just because that person doesn't know any better. Came home to a cable hanging outside my garage door and the door would not open. Once I was inside I realized our spring had broken. I did a quick Yelp search for the best garage door repair companies, AMSGD was #1 on the list. They were going to come out on Friday between 2-4pm. I let them know I needed to leave by 4:45ish. I had to leave for my appointment and as I backed our of the driveway the installer, Chase, showed up from AMSGD. He let me know he was held up on a job that took longer than expected. I told him I needed to leave and he immediately asked if he could come by tomorrow, (Saturday), to repair the door. First of all, I was very shocked that he was offering a Saturday and not the following week. I was definitely happy about that. Chase showed up on Saturday and repaired the spring in about 25 minutes! He is probably one of the most knowledgeable individuals on garage doors that I know. He did not rush through the job and actually spent quite a bit of time educating me on the spring, cables, rollers and how to best take care of all the moving parts to keep my garage door running smoothly. Garage door panels all fell off track and I couldn't put them back on. Called AMS and Mike was here within an hour. It took him only 20 minutes to get it all fixed - it could have been sooner if I haven't tried to do it myself and took some of the panels off... I had Sears contractor come out to install my garage door motor, and unfortunately they didn't do a great job, and the bracket was ready to break after a month. I called AMS and they had someone come fix it the next day. Mike was extremely helpful and managed to reinstall the bracket, level the garage door, re-lubricate all the wheels and bearings, and re-working some wiring all in about an hour's time. The torsion spring on our garage door needed to be replaced, so I called AMS based on reviews I'd read about them. They definitely lived up to their 5 star rating. Mike came out and ended up replacing the spring but also realigned the entire garage door. It turns out our builder didn't install the door correctly. The service was excellent and quick.
