Wife wanted a Chai tea latte and I was hungry. So we stopped by and the service was great. New employee had just started and she was doing great with some assistance. We ordered three coffees and breakfast sandwiches / burritos and were told the food would take about 20 mins. We said OK. The coffees were served quickly but the breakfast sandwiches took 35+ minutes. The eggs on all of the sandwiches were bland and had no seasoning at all. They were completely out of their house salsa but they did have some packets of sauce which helped. The coffees were all small and just OK. The cost was $71 and included tax and tip and we all agreed it was overall disappointing and obviously have had better days to merit the better reviews. It seemed they were interviewing potential employees while we were there so I hope they are able to staff up and solve some of the problems. read more

Major disappointment after coming back to this place after 10 years. Horrible weak, stale-tasting coffee and espresso, slow slow service on food. Melted cheese on croissant had been left to get cold before served. Each item overpriced. Polite nice young folks who greeted and said farewell, but in between seemed to lack basic training on customer service. Went to Spearhead coffee about two blocks away after throwing out the coffees we had purchased and had a great experience. read more

Great local coffee house. You can tell this place is good by how busy it is. The coffee is great, in my opinion better than Starbucks. You can tell they care about the quality of their coffee drinks. It's located nicely in downtown Paso adjacent to the local shops. Slightly dark inside but I think it plays well with the vibes you get when you walk in. This place is it. We got here after deciding we wanted some coffee and quick, and filling eats. The vibes inside were very much so a coffee lounge vibe, rather than a coffee shop vibe. It was crowded inside with a handful of tables and lounge chairs/couches. And a vintage piano that was 113 years old! The line was long and it went by quick. I ordered an iced Himalayan Salted Caramel latte with soy milk and my partner ordered a cold brew. I was kind of hesitant ordering the Himalayan Salted Caramel latte because it sounded super sweet, but I decided to give it a try. And I'm so glad I did! It wasn't as sweet as I imagined it would be. It honestly tasted like a liquid version of Werther's Original candies and it brought me back to childhood. So freaking delicious. We ended up not getting food there because there was a 45 min wait for food. The lady explained they only had one cook in the back and it was bussssy. We weren't mad because we ended up discovery Ziggy's (look out for that review!) and the coffee was still delicious. Hopefully next time we're out in Paso Robles we'll give it another go for food! But definitely going to make this our coffee stop while in town! read more

The ambiance here is outstanding! Such an amazing, open-air vibe. I need to come back when there is a piano player playing! The service was awesome too. We ordered a specialty iced latte, a croissant, a tea, and a chai latte and all of them were top tier. They had forgot to give us our chai latte that we ordered but didn't realize we weren't charged for, but they were apologetic and gave us the chai free of charge. We had a mocha and a latte and they didn't come close to the national chain store competition (and we so much wanted to patronize an independent!!!) Ordered a breakfast sandwiches and they were underwhelming. The brioche buns were not fresh and the bacon and eggs on the sandwiches were akin to a high school cafeteria. My experience at Amstrdm Coffee house was unfortunately disappointing. We stopped in just to grab a coffee to-go and ordered at the counter. A cortado and an iced dirty chai latte. For two drinks, we thought we would be in and out of there pretty quickly. We ended up waiting almost 20 minutes for TWO drinks. They had two baristas hustling behind the coffee bar so it didn't seem like they were short staffed. The flavor of my iced chai latte was good, but there was very little ice in my beverage to make it cold. On their Yelp page it also states "masks required" but not a single employee was masked. We felt very uncomfortable inside waiting for our drinks as it was packed with people. They do have some additional tables outside on the sidewalk if you are dining in and want to keep some distance. The inside gets a lot of nice natural light, the bathroom is clean, and they have a stage for live music which I'm sure is nice, but our personal experience here was just OK. Maybe not the best place to grab a coffee on the go. read more

Our favorite coffee spot. We come up to Paso every quarter (we try) from Orange County and Amstrdm is a must for our first stop before hitting up the vineyards. They are so dog friendly and owner and employees are so welcoming ! And we really enjoy their cappuccino and lattes. We tend to head up during the weekdays to avoid the morning traffic rush and will get into town by 8... and we'll set up to work and enjoy breakfast before the vineyards open. Their croissants and croque monsieur are our favorites. Last time we were here. The owner was training a new staff and our breakfast sandwiches weren't cooked, cheese was not melted. It wasn't a big deal for us to have them heat it up but the owner was very apologetic and took care of our sandwich. Which was not expected as we didn't mind. We always look forward stopping by and sometimes we'll run into some of the vineyard employees as they are stopping by to pick up coffee prior to work too! read more

Their signature staple is the ham and cheese on a croissant and I can definitely see why--the cheese was perfectly melted, good ham to cheese ratio, and the croissant was moist and soft. Amstrdm coffee house is a perfect spot to sip coffee while listing to some live music. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. This is a perfect brunch spot. The live music was great! They had two artists playing as people enjoyed their morning breakfast. If you sit indoors, it's a bit more intimate and you are right by the live music. We were able to get a seat here on a Saturday night with only a 15 minute wait. We enjoyed the comfy single lounge chairs in the back. The chocolate mouse dessert hit the spot. And the Charles de Fere champagne was a good bubbly light drink to have after dinner. The live music wasn't what we expected but we enjoyed it, mostly covers and some originals of pop and r&b, the talented Madi Rindge Duo. I've started making ACH my regular stop over on my long drives from LA to Monterey and back. I've made the croissant sandwich and coffee my tie over on my drive morning drives. I would give 5 stars if I could. I think the owner took our order. We had 2 couples and it was awesome. Wife and I split the breakfast sandwich. I have NEVER had a better one ever! Perfect and the service was spectacular. Why can others not have this great of service. Food and the coffee was outstanding. I do not drink coffee and wished they had some soft drinks. I was visiting for the first time to see the Field of Lights. Of course I had to feed into my coffee addiction. The host of my airbnb told me this is the best coffee place to visit. OH.MY.GOD. was he 110 % correct! The place was easy to find and parking wasn't an issue. The coffee shop has limited seating since the area was small. The lady who helped me at the register was very sweet and kind. I let her know it was my first time being in Paso Robles and she gave warm welcomes. She even help me decided which flavor latte I should get based on what I was craving. The menu has a small selection of flavors. I decided to get elderflower vanilla latte with oatmilk and a bagel with tomato basil. I love elderflower so why not! It was flavorsome! Honestly, I would travel back to Paso Robles just to get their coffee again. I've never had a latte like that before. I can see why they only have a limited selection of flavors. The flavors are unheard of and to die for! The bagel was delicious! It was a bit small in size for my liking. I wish it would have been a bit bigger. Overall, my experience was amazing!
