Wanted a nice sushi place for a friend and I that wasn't far from Lake Mary/ Sanford area. Found this place but wow prices were so so so expensive . WHO CARGES 20 DOLLARS FOR A ROLL. The crab Rangoon was really good and the sushi to me was just okay. Zach the bartender was really really attentive and helpful and I wouldn't mind trying their hibachi grille room sometime but I don't think I can afford to come back for sushi. The atmosphere was sophisticated and the bar area was nice , they had cool lighting on the bar that changed colors. March madness basketball was also on the TVs so I was happy with that haha . Try it! But expect to spend like over 100 bucks on sushi

The Lobster Volcano

I came here on a Friday at lunchtime for a work meeting. The place was clean with very fast service. We ordered a bunch of apps and rolls and everything was so good! I always ask for suggestions and the waiter suggested that the Bubba roll was very popular so I tried that. The roll was fresh and tasty. We also had the Lobster Volcano roll. It was so creative and so much going on with that roll in a good way. The Lobster, shrimp and crab pieces, and jalapeños! Omg what an amazing roll. We couldn't not stop munching on it during the meeting. I would definitely come back again on my own. This was such a good choice.

Heath code violations CLOSED Oct 14th 2025.

This place has really gone downhill. Our family has lived in the Lake Mary area for 15 years, and the quality here has consistently declined over time. After this most recent experience, it will definitely be our family's last time "giving them another try." Despite recently seeing this restaurant on the news for being shut down due to health code violations, we decided to come for my sister's birthday since it's always been her favorite spot. We figured they would be on their best behavior after reopening -- unfortunately, we were wrong. We had a party of 12 seated in the hibachi section for the experience, but they split us into two grills. The waitress said it would be "too overwhelming" for one chef, so we expected two. Our reservation was for 7:30, but the chef didn't start cooking until after 8:20 even though we ordered everything right away. The soup was completely flavorless -- three of our family members sent theirs back because it tasted like watered-down ginger. When the chef finally came out, there was only one. He was forced to juggle both grills, cooking one group's food while the other sat watching their meal overcook. It was stressful and uncomfortable to watch him struggle like that. Cross-contamination was also a serious concern. He used the same utensils for raw chicken and mixed the cooked vegetables multiple times. Most of the food was overcooked, the noodles were mushy from sitting on the grill the entire 45 minutes and several plates the meat was completely unseasoned -- while others were not. To make matters worse, the birthday girl sat at the table that received no entertainment or "hibachi show." She literally watched the chef's back while he focused on the other side. (Again not the chefs fault for the lack of support) When I spoke to the manager, he showed zero concern. No apology, no effort to make things right. His attitude alone reflected exactly why this restaurant's standards have fallen so low. At $50 a plate (with the added gratuity) the food and service are completely unacceptable. If the health code issues don't shut this place down again, the lack of care and quality surely will. Lake Mary is a high-end area, and this restaurant no longer measures up. After 15 years of being loyal customers, this was the final straw.

Long Island Iced Tea was delicious

Amura was just average for me. We went on a weeknight to meet some friends. It was a drive for us, but that doesn't figure into the rating. First, the drinks! The Japanese Whiskey sour was just ok, nothing special. I switched to a Long Island Iced Tea which was better, but still nothing spectacular. The Dumpling Soup was delicious, but 2 F'ing dumplings for $7? C'mon man! Same with the pork belly in the appetizer sampler. Was it from a fetal pig because there was barely any there! The crab rangoon had some nice pieces of crab in it, so that was nice. The wings were also on point too. The fiery wing sauce was excellent and the wings were nice and crispy! For me, it's a pass on going back as the atmosphere didn't quite match what they're trying to do, and the prices they charge. It's no Sushi Pop (which is better than Nobu, IMHO! This place missed the mark in a number of ways.

Amura is consistently top-tier. I cannot get enough of their amazing sushi and friendly staff! I split this massive sushi boat with 3 people and we still had leftovers! Their hot dishes are also so good!

I read the reviews before coming in, but I was so optimistic I thought my experience would've been better. This place needs to change some things if they want to become better and have more customers. We went on a Saturday night and it was basically empty. The 3 hostess were all on their phone when we came in which should've been by sign to try another restaurant nearby. Also, every employee was wearing their regular clothes, I didn't see any sort of uniform in place which shocked me, I've never seen that before! The server was a little on the rude side. The place is expensive so you'd think you're getting what you pay for, but unfortunately it's not the case. The food was OK. The sushi was terrible and not authentic at all. I would be back in the future, hopefully someone picks the place up.

Volcano Roll

Came here on a whim after a week of craving sushi. Decided to get the honey short rib appetizer also. The flavor of the short ribs was really good, but the meat itself was very chewy. It was sliced thinner than I anticipated and maybe that what caused it to dry out and be as chewy as it was. I also ordered the volcano roll and Mexican roll--both of which were just ok. Probably wouldn't go back here for sushi.

Japanese Clear Soup

I attended a birthday hibachi dinner celebration on Friday, January 20, 2023. We were a group of fifteen adults and children. I've had Amura's hibachi dinner in the past and I wasn't impressed. I believe there are better restaurants for this style of dining in the Orlando metro area. That being said, I opted for the Combination Dinner Entree with Chicken and Shrimp. The hibachi meal also comes with Japanese Clear Soup or Ginger Salad, Teriyaki Noodles, Hibachi Mixed Vegetables and either Fried or Steamed Rice. I knew this meal may not be going in a positive direction when I didn't even finish my clear soup. The soup had an off putting flavor which I've never experienced before in a Japanese restaurant. As to the main meal, both the chicken and shrimp were not tender or juicy and lacked any flavor. The noodles, mixed vegetables and fried rice also suffered the same fate of being tasteless. I wracked my brain trying to understand how a meal could be this bland with the amount of butter and soy sauce which was heaped on during the cooking process. At the end of the day, I neither finished my meal nor requested a leftover takeout container. I do give kudos to the hibachi chef for his entertainment skills. Also, the server, Wila was friendly, accommodating and attentive towards our group. As to my assessment of the food though, they advertise as the "Best Sushi in Orlando" and they may have something to hang their hat on as I've sampled their sushi before however, if they ever marketed themselves as the "Best Hibachi in Orlando" they certainly would be sued for false advertising.

Nice place. Reminds me of Redstone American Grill to some degree. It has that kind of…read morenon-descriptive feel to it which is neither bad nor good. It does seem to, however, set a level of expectation that Stonewood certainly met. Service was great and the GINGER LIME SALMON BOWL - Ginger lime glazed salmon, lemon oil, jasmine rice, baby kale, edamame, cucumbers, radishes, grape tomatoes, scallions, basil avocado aioli I had was very tasty. I'm pretty sure I'll be back again. Convienence might trump uniqueness for this one.

Not what we hoped for; not at all what we expected…read more Our first visit and most likely our last. We heard about the grilled pork chop being superb so we trolled the minuscule parking lot looking for a precious parking place until we finally found one - the last one on a mid-week night. What must this place be like on Fri & Sat nights? Our service was absolutely glacial. It was non-existent for the first 8-10 minutes as we were completely ignored. Do not confuse activity with production. Folks are moving around - they just don't do anything. Finally a cheerful gal appeared to give us menus & take drink orders. Slow service continued and is the overriding theme of this restaurant. Our observation: clearly regulars get preferential treatment. We watched wait-staff acknowledge and chat up folks while completely ignoring others sitting at the next table. Not professional, and certainly no bueno if the restaurant wants to attract new customers. The pork chop was very small - not even close to resembling the picture on the menu. It was just average; the kale accompaniment was so bitter we couldn't eat it; and the small portion of mashed potato was the only redeeming item on the plate. Charging my guest $1 to substitute broccoli for kale at the prices we were charged was a rip-off. Just so mickey mouse The bread pudding was over-cooked and frankly inedible. Our meal as a whole was too expensive and very, very mediocre. The lousy service really ought to be addressed - if not for the private-club feel regarding prompt service only for the regulars at the expense of new customers, this place would surely close. We came, we saw, we ate, we're done. Extremely doubtful we'll ever go back to Stonewood in Heathrow. Just not a good meal.

I am a huge fan of the Fresh Market and this particular location, which is in Lake Mary, Florida,…read moreis a pretty solid location. The service here was friendly and professional and it has an overall pleasant ambiance. It definitely suits an upscale supermarket. What I like best about the Fresh Market is the quality of their food, especially their meat department and produce department. I came in on a Tuesday because their ground beef and chicken is on sale every Tuesday and their ground beef (which is grounded in-house) and chicken is so superior to every other supermarket. Their steaks are also phenomenal. The Fresh Market is a fantastic option in terms of an upscale supermarket. Their meat department and produce department, as I mentioned are probably my two favorite departments, but the whole supermarket is definitely stellar. The deli is great and even their groceries are good. Oh, don't forget their bakery. They have great cakes and bread. The Fresh Market is a great choice and this location definitely earns five stars. Go check them out for yourself.

I recently revisited Fresh Market and while I was there picking up some clearance cookies and candy…read moreI became aware of their daily prepared food deals. I was very impressed. I have been an on again off again Fresh Market shopper and have purchased their weekly 'Little Big Meals' or Tuesday's discount meat specials and the occasional deli chicken. I was a little disenchanted because although the quality is good it is not a place I can afford to do a week's worth of grocery shopping. They have very attractive displays and lighting which is kind of like a foodie's kid in a candy store experience. I did not realize what quality deli prepared meals they have for the average $5. I realize this is a marketing attempt to get you into the store but it is totally working for me! These rotating meal deals typically offer a significant discount on popular prepared items. Tuesday: $5 12" Hot and Fresh Pizzas (Deli). There is a limit of 2 per guest. There is a menu so it is not build your own. They offer traditional flavors but also Mike's Hot Honey Pepperoni, Pepe Fromage Pizza and my favorite Ensalada which is topped with arugula, red onions and a balsamic reduction. Wednesday: $5 Paninis (Deli). Thursday: $5 Bistro Meals or $5 Whole Roasted Chickens (Deli). Bistro Meals typically include one entrée and two sides; guests can often purchase up to 4. This is a deal because many times the protein alone would be more than the $5 meal deal. You get to choose two of any cold deli salad or hot side items. I think going early is key so you get the run of the protein choices. They also offer $5 roasted chickens and my favorite flavor is garlic thyme. These go fast. Friday: $5/lb Cooked Chicken Wings (Deli). There are roughly 12 wings in a pound. Sauce flavors are Parmesan garlic, Buffalo, BBQ and plain. They usually have one flavor of sauced wings in the case but can add the sauce of your choice to the plain wings. The Fresh Market employees in the Deli department have proven to be very patient. There can be a line up to order a meal but they don't rush you. One night I wanted the garlic thyme flavor chicken and they had the last batch in the oven. It was around seven and she said they would be ready in 15 minutes and would set one aside for me. As a budget conscious shopper who still wants restaurant quality meals these deals hit the spot.

I've been here 2x and both times the food was impeccable…read more I got the Coconut Shrimp roll, Florida roll, and Alaska roll (2x) across my visits. The Coconut Shrimp roll was sweet from the coconut sauce and the coconut added a yummy flavor and texture to the roll, as well. If you like coconut and sweet rolls, you'll love this. The Florida roll was GAS ! I just started getting into spicy food and spicy tuna recently and this was just perfect. The right amount of bite and the spicy tuna on top tasted so good. It seems like they mash it up, which makes it easier to chew than typical raw tuna. A great savory roll and the flavor profile was just right, adding the eel sauce was a nice touch. The Alaska Roll speaks for itself, I mean look at that mountain of crunch I got it both times I went (inadvertently). I think I got it right with the name... I was calling it the volcano roll, but that has mango sauce on it. This one has kani on top and cream cheese inside and probably shrimp tempura. I really loved this roll, like a mountain of flavor every bite. The atmosphere is small with authentic looking Japanese decor and quiet. A nice spot for a week day dinner (might get crowded on the weekend). Really great food though overall. Ate these rolls as leftovers both times and was good the next day

The special comes with miso soup or clear soup and if you want the house salad (like I did) there's like an extra $2 charge. The restaurant wasn't super busy when we arrived but I will say it took a little longer than anticipated to receive our rolls, which again were more basic ones since we did the lunch special. So on to the main event: the sushi! Definitely fresh, nothing tasted off putting or stale. However, the overall flavor of the rolls were lacking hence my 4 star review. I would come back just to try other items but the three rolls I ordered off the lunch menu were 1. Seared tuna scallion roll (6 pieces and rather small) 2. Spicy krab roll (this was pretty mid, 8 pieces) and 3. Spicy salmon roll (not spicy at all lol and again just okay)
