I was so shock that this place is so delicious! It is NOT bland and it is NOT just salty. It is very delicious- we live by 4 chinese take out places all close by- but we always end up calling Amy's (which is far) and it is worth it everytime. The delivery driver is so nice and courteous. Always my go to place for Chinese food! They have amazing lunch specials and should be taken advantage of. Your lunch entree is usually under $6 and comes with your choice of rice (white, brown, fried), a choice of soup (wonton, egg drop) or egg roll or can of soda. You honestly can't beat it. They are always busy for lunch so make sure you call ahead for pick up! They make quality Cantonese food for a good price. I work in the area and always come here for lunch. I ordered from here last night and I've ordered a couple times in the past . I can't complain about any of the dishes I have ate . They are quick with delivery , food is always hot and yummy . The prices are reasonable also! Last night I got the general tso's chicken , it was spicy and delicious ! They packed the container with so much chicken and a few pieces of broccoli, just how I like it lol . I also got a side order of fried pork dumplings, which was also very good . My husband got the seasame chicken , he had no complaints with his food either . We will definitely continue to order from here because it's hard to find a good Chinese food spot . This is seriously long overdue, MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE CHINESE TAKEOUT EVER! Let's start with I live in Fresh Meadows and they deliver to me. Now the review, I've been ordering from them regularly for about 2 years. Not once have I ever been disappointed with the quality of the food, always on point. They fed me 2-3 times a week during my pregnancy and to no surprise my baby boy, now 18 months, loves everything he's tried so far too! There customer service is supreme to any restaurant, to the wonderful ladies who answer the phones to the delivery driver, really make you feel appreciated as a customer. It's weird to have fond memories of a Chinese take-out place but this is the place I ate at while growing up. I remember my dad, who used to own a store two stores down, ordering from this place at least 3 times a week. It was the best Chinese food I've had and it is still the best. I haven't been able to frequent it because of my busy life, but whenever I go there, I know that I'll have the most comforting, quality, Chinese food there is. If you eat in, they'll serve you on a plate. Not a one time use plate, but an actual plate. I don't know any Chinese take-out that does that. Amy probably doesn't remember me, but she's still there. We've ordered food many times, food use to be good but has progressively gotten worse. This time we ordered the pork fried rice, chicken wings and Singapore mei fun. The rice was so hard my kids refused to eat it, tasted like a low grade rice, qualify was terrible. Will not order from them again, price is high for bad food. read more

God awful. The pork fried Rice was disgusting with microscope pieces of pork. The BBQ chicken sticks were so bad I had one bite and felt nauseous immediately. Even though the largest Chinatown in the western hemisphere is only a 10 min drive from my hovel, sometimes laziness and unwillingness to deal with traffic means that I'm going to stay local for Chinese food. Amy's has been the go to for me for General Tso's Chicken (which isn't technically a Chinese dish anyways), fried rice and other simple Chinese-American fare. This is my family's go to Chinese takeout restaurant. They recently redid the inside and they have cute tables and chairs to sit at and eat even though we usually take it to go. Amy's is so clean, which is sometimes hard to find with Chinese restaurants. Whenever you walk in it always looks immaculate which I love to see! Their food is great! Everything is reasonably priced and the portions are very generous. They will make anything you like even if it is not on the menu. They made a dish for my dad once that we get all the time now. It is boneless roast pork spare ribs with fresh garlic, it is amazing! Just ask for the Carlo special and she'll probably know what you are talking about! I am very simple when it comes to Chinese food and I usually get chicken with broccoli in brown sauce. I always ask for extra sauce because it is so good and I love to mix it with my brown rice. My mom loves their steamed vegetable dumplings, they are very light and not greasy at all. You really can't go wrong with anything you order. My boyfriend always orders the shrimp with garlic sauce which is also delicious! I highly recommend trying Amy's for superior Chinese take out (or dine in) food! Parking may be tough in the area which is the only downfall, but the street they are on has all meter parking so as long as you watch the time you should be fine! read more

I'm celiac and recently found this place via a GF app. This place is amazing! They are super knowledgeable and patient to explain what can be made gluten-free and what is naturally gluten free. I've been ordering at least once a week for a few weeks and haven't gotten sick. The food is delicious and not oily at all (which is another dietary preference I have). Food is 5 stars, Delivery is two stars. Food is top quality, some of the best Chinese takeout I've ever had in my life. Unfortunately the Delivery service is always 1 hour minimum (I'm less than 5 min away from them by car) and the Driver never calls even though I put on the note: Doorbell broken. So he knocks incessantly on the door. Same guy every time and of course he is a tip haggler. One of those. It's 50 degrees outside, not too humid and not too dry. Not raining. How much should I be tipping you sir? $100 when the meal cost $10? If they have a complaint they should make the minimum higher then the tip will be higher. I give the appropriate amount given the long time I have to wait in proportion to the quality of food. I came downstairs rapidly and he waited all but under a minute. Why should I have to tip high when the service was not particularly outstanding and I did not inconvenience him? They will get 5 stars if they change his shift and I get another driver. Side note: Get the Chicken w/ Black Bean sauce, but leave the Chicken Mei Fun alone it honestly doesn't taste that great, even with soy/hot sauce :-\ read more

Had to update my previous review. Amy's has seriously gone downhill. The past few times we've ordered from them it really hasn't been that good. I was very sorry to experience this, as I have raved about Amy's to anyone and everyone who would listen. But, you can't change the fact that their food is not what it was a year or two (or three) ago. I will probably give them a shot again in the future, but not now. Amy's restaurant is super busy all the time. Almost always have to call at least twice during lunch hours before the waitress answer the phone. Their American/Chinese foods are pretty typical like most of the other Chinese take out but I love the fact that they have special menu (in the wall of the store) with more authentic Chinese food such as salty fish with tofu. I really am only compelled to write a review if I am super happy or super disappointed. Unfortunately this is the latter. In an attempt to finally find a good chinese takeout place and after seeing some positive reviews here I decided to give Amy's a shot . After about 50 minutes we called and got the "it's on it's way" . It was about 30 minutes later when a delivery guy called me and told me to open the door so I did but no one was there so I called him back and he was in the wrong place. We did eventually get the food we ordered. I'd call it average on a whole but not great. So why the one star and not at least two? I ordered mooshu chicken although you should call it egg not chicken as the chicken was definitely more of a supporting character. Anyway, the "pancakes" they sent were FLOUR TORTILLAS!!! Yes full sized regular old flour tortilla wraps... Give me a break! If I wanted an egg heavy burrito I would have found that (although , gross) Also, no fortune cookie, isn't that standard? I only stumbled upon it during the pandemic because most other places and the usual take-out I frequented was still closed. When I told the owner my friend was a regular and usually gets the pressed duck, she was very engaging, and asked if we liked spicy food. This place is amazing, we have been coming here for years!! I recently was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and was upset to not be able to eat Chinese food due to the soy sauce. One day we called and asked if there was any possibility they could make gluten free dishes and the staff worked with me to figure out solutions. I really appreciate their attentiveness and effort. If you are allergic to gluten you can ask them to make it in a "white garlic sauce" or "no soy sauce" and you can just add in your own gluten free soy sauce. I usually order Beef and Broccoli with the white sauce with pork fried rice with no soy sauce. The spare ribs don't need to be altered as they are already gluten free btw also really good! Love Amy's and their food. I normally don't leave reviews but, I just wanted to point out the delivery driver. I live about half a mile away which is about a 5 minute drive. I decided to order a delivery because, I had to catch up on some coursework. When the driver arrived, I gave him $20 ($18 for the order and $2 for the tip.) When he looked at the receipt and the $20 bill, he kept asking, "That's it?" Like I'm sorry, about how much am I suppose to give? $5? My boyfriend and I order from here frequently only because it's pretty convenient when we're hungry and can't decide on what to eat. In the past, the times where we'd order delivery and went outside to get the food the delivery man was so rude. I'd hand him his tip and then look at it and ask "that's it?" As if I'm supposed to give him more or even a tip at all. The last time we ordered for delivery, it was absolutely disgusting. I ordered pork lomein and fried rice and my boyfriend ordered BBQ boneless spare ribs. It wasn't edible in the least bit. We had to throw the food away because it was so bad.
