Took takeout banh mi for a social distanced hangout in the park. Taste-wise, it was a-okay but it wasn't anything more. Veggies in the banh mi were not the freshest and clumsily chopped then thrown in with less than stellar pickled daikon. Baguette bread was fine and could've been a lot better. I chose this place because they seemed to be a lot cleaner than other similar restaurants in the neighborhood. When I walked in to pick up my order, it was indeed very clean which I was immediately impressed with. The order was also fixed up fast and the person who took my order was attentive and easy to understand. So for that I added an extra star to be 3.5 stars, but not quite deserving of 4 stars. I have enjoyed the grilled chicken rice vermicelli bowls a few times from this place and I am a big fan of this place. I've only gotten take-out, but the dining area looks so inviting and would definitely be a spot I could imagine enjoying a sit-down meal if it were pre-covid times. Just a note that serving size here really varies on the dish--not every dish is a large serving. From my experience, the curry and teriyaki aren't huge servings, but the vermicelli noodles and fried rice are. Get the Rice Vermicelli Noodles. They're SO delicious, I can't say enough good things about it. It's good for two with an additional appetizer, or just to share family style. It's cheap, it makes you feel healthy because somehow they put in a ton of veggies in the dish, but you don't really notice when once you mix everything together. I'm also a huge fan of the fish sauce, it kind of just ties the flavors and textures together in a refreshing and savory way. The only thing is that this dish is really appetizing, which has deceived me on more occasions than one to order more food that I later found I didn't have room for :P Their fried chicken appetizer is juicy and salted perfectly! Beware they only give you five, but it says six on the menu. Not a big deal, but a friend once pointed this out to them, and after making up excuses such as the chicken they gave us were bigger pieces than usual (...uh what? LOL) they ended up giving us an additional single chicken wing. Listen. It's not so much that we wanted that extra chicken wing, it's the wrongful advertisement (imagine if there was a party of six hoping to get one each, only to find out that there's only five), blatant lie about why they're trying to cut costs, and lack of a good old fashioned apology. We could have gotten this for $5 at the Vietnamese deli in a lunch box to go and it would have had better flavor. Good enough if you are hungry, but not authentic enough to take your Asian parents here without them saying "you wasted money on not so good food" Service is friendly and nice enough. I am very impressed with this restaurant. I recommend this restaurant if you want authentic Vietnamese pho, spring rolls and Vietnamese coffee. (Those are the only things I ordered. I wouldn't be surprised if everything else was super good too) 1. The pho broth was good with fresh noodles. There was an average amount of meat in my pho (I got the 2.1 Steak Pho). 2. The bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños and limes were all fresh. 10/10 3. Special Roll was also freshly made. The sauce that comes with it isn't your typical peanut sauce so wasn't quite too sure what it was. I usually eat my spring rolls with sriracha and hoisin sauce so it didn't matter. I was also able to ask for no basil in my roll which confirmed that the rolls were made on the spot and not pre-made. 4. Vietnamese Coffee was also really great. It was strong but sweet, just like it should be. 5. Environment is clean and quiet. I came around 1230-1pm and it wasn't packed all. 6. Service was great. They gladly gave us extra limes and noodles without any hesitation. They constantly checked up on us. Overall, I give this restaurant 5 stars for literally everything. The quality was great! Please STOP SPRAYING TABLES with too much Lysol/Chlorox or whatever that STRONG disinfectant u use in cleaning the table because we can smell it in our food. Tables are close to each other and when they spray this strong chemical to clean other tables, we can smell it strongly while eating and it's disgusting and making us nauseous. Use a damp cloth that was previously disinfected and just wipe, DONT SPRAY it in the air - this is a health hazard ! read more

Decent combo sandwich - It's probably about 10 inches long and has a good helping of fresh veggies and jalapeño in it. The spicy and watery to texture along with the braised pork is filling and refreshing, great item for lunch because it doesn't weigh you down. Picked up this and a Vietnamese iced coffee for around 10 bucks; Not a bad quick easy lunch, and in Seattle eating a meal under $15 can be challenging on the north side. Two thumbs up! After shopping in Daiso, I found this Pho place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I ordered Seafood Pho with small size and a Tofu & Vegetable Sandwich. The portion of Pho was just perfect and the broth was flavorful. I could only eat half of the sandwich. This is my first time to have a Vietnamese sandwich so I have no previous experience to compare with. Surprisingly they offered a complimentary dessert after the meal. When I asked for a to-go box for the leftover sandwich, the server took it and put it in a bag and brought it back to me. The service was really good. Fast and great service. Got special salad role, pho, pork sandwich and durian bubble smoothie. Everything was so tasty! Best thing happened to our day trip in seattle so far. Salad role: the combination of pork and shrimp worked really well. The dipping sauce was also unique in a way. More watery, but definitely very good touch to the roll. Pho: good pricing. Good portion. Good broth. I didnt get the thirstiness i usually get from other pho place after meal. So i dont think MSG were used here. Sandwich: i am not an expert on this. Very good pho: delicious broth! Nice atmosphere, even got a Boba coconut smoothie and it is a bit too sweet but blended perfectly! Less sugar and it would be 5 stars! I also mentioned that I had checked in for the 10% off on Yelp but somehow my waitress "forgot" and she brought out a small mini flan as desert included and didn't charge so I thought that might be their way of giving the 10% discount because that flan was definitely worth more than what would be! I always try the broth alone when eating pho, without adding any additional sauce or spice. The broth is amazingly flavorful!! Great price for the size! Inexpensive spring rolls and pho. Moving away from the U District made me worried that we wouldn't find convenient restaurants to eat at anymore, but thank goodness for An Nam Pho! It's convenient AND delicious. The interior is nice (kind of dim lighting though), and I really like their menu design. They offer various broth options for their pho, and complimentary extra noodles. My boyfriend and I usually get pho (with traditional beef broth) and extra noodles to-go, and that can usually last us two meals. There's two different sizes for pho, but if you get it to-go, you have to get the larger size. The ingredients for the pho look fresh, and they taste good. The portion of meat we get sometimes differs, the noodles have been consistent, and I really enjoy the flavor of the broth. You also get a complimentary flan with each order, which I really like.. even better than the cream puffs they give at the pho restaurants on the Ave! They have a variety of other Vietnamese dishes, as well as some Thai dishes. Plus, the staff there have been friendly consistently. First time ordering food from An Nam Pho. Prices were great UNTIL the surprise $12.00 service fee added to my food total after I'd placed my order. With Postmates online orders, you place your order &, after the fact, then you see the extra charges from the restaurant added on, & after delivery you submit the tip. We ordered the Stir fried noodles w/shrimp. It was tasty & would've been 3-4 stars by itself...BUT our other 2 dishes were very disappointing! The Lemongrass tofu bahn mi had no flavor except for the bread. The Fried veggie roll was ok flavor but almost no veggies. Plus Postmate driver got lost & was unreachable by phone/text. This is such a good Vietnamese/Thai restaurant that is cheap and has good service. It may be a little out of the way from UW, but a quick hop on the bus will fix that. The interior is super classy and I'll admit I was surprised at how nice it was. The table tops were marble and they had fish tanks with cute fake fish. The food is cheap, tasty and plentiful. They had so many choices the menu was huge. I got a veggie spring roll and a grilled chicken rice noodle bowl. My boyfriend got potstickers and chicken phad Thai. The apps were great and as I've mentioned before I can inhale spring rolls. The entrees were flavorful and fresh, and I had leftovers. Stumbled up on this place. My daughter spot the restaurant with a lot of toy fish tank in front and wanted to go in here. Atmosphere : besides from the toy fish tank by the windows I think they could make it a lot classier. Table, Menu and booklet are very well design Food Taste : I order 2 bowls of pho meatballs and veggie and tofu. Both broth are in the "light side" which mean it not overly onions as well as taste. Spring Roll does come with peanut sauce which still have hoisin sauce taste with it. Price : Reasonable for area and portion are generous. Really freaking good Pho! And it's CHEAP! Cheap and tasty=happy D The staff are all really nice, I was there on a Tuesday early afternoon and it was fairly empty. I sat down( yes I eat by myself, it is the 21st century after all, crazier things have happened), and total time from placing my order to getting my Pho was less than 10 minutes. I ordered the small brisket and steak Pho and it was still huge and filling! The spicy broth is the way to go for sure, and all the ingredients that came with it were fresh!! I also ordered an avocado bubble tea which was creamy excitement melt in your mouth divinity! yup, that sums it up! And they give you free flan which I did not know and it was so good! Went with a friend last night and was seated very promptly. Love the fact the waiter was super polite, AND super helpful regarding the menu. We ordered the tofu spring rolls, fried tofu and 2 bowls of pho. First off, everything seemed VERY fresh...the lettuce in the spring rolls, the basil, the beansprouts were all very fresh. Fried tofu was not too greasy, and it was lightly fried and really good! (By the way, the tofu is not presented the way it is photographed in the menu with little chilis on it..FYI) The small size is pretty sufficient for an average adult who eats a LOT (aka me. :)) My only thing about this I like when I get the strips of steak that they are partially raw when you first receive the bowl then it heats up. I ordered the steak and meatballs, and I guess they didn't write "raw steak" so everything was cooked, but usually I think the meat tastes more tender with it being slightly cooked. The broth was good, but not great. The great thing is it is NOT salty! (yay for my stomach that isn't accustomed to super salty stuff), but the flavor isn't anything to rave about. It's good, but the flavor isn't deep. I think that's the best way to describe it! meatballs were good, but I think I only had...1 meatball..cut into 4 pieces. :( Also, it was SUPER wet yesterday, I almost tripped once, and then I saw a guy basically fall flat on the floor but caught himself with his hands. Needless to say, when it's wet outside, watch out for the floors - they are super slick in there! We took our time and it wasn't crowded at all. Noise level is low so it's easy to talk (but we only had maybe 3 or 4 other tables there at the same time as us. They also give out punch cards! yay! the complementary flan at the end - SO delicious!!! They make it in-house, not hard and dense. Super yummy...reminds me of flan I ate in Mexico.
