Lovely restaurant tucked next to a number of local businesses in West Simsbury. We usually come for brunch, which has a wide selection of classic American fare from omelets to pancakes & French toast, open egg dishes (the BLT scramble is excellent) and a seriously good breakfast burrito. Coffee is hot, the cold drinks are fresh and tasty. I'd say their scrambled eggs are probably the best I've ever had anywhere. Their lunch menu is nothing to sneeze at either. My youngest son, a self-described hamburger expert, finds their cheeseburger to be #2 that he's ever eaten in his life. 95% of the time we come here for his fix. #1 he claims is from a restaurant in a Danbury, but I don't have the heart to tell him Ana's is better. Came here with the family as I heard good things about the food. When we were seated I was expecting to at least order drinks but it took about 15 minutes before anyone came to ask. I think they were short staff though and I was very hungry so didn't hold it against them. We finally ordered food/coffee and everything came out pretty fast. Overall the food was really good. Loved the potatoes and eggs and liked the container holding the coffee. Was good food overall. If/when I come back into town I would come back here for sure. read more

New location by Stratton brook, we enjoy Ana's lunch sandwiches but this was our first time having breakfast. They were very transparent about how busy they were (which is very appreciated) due to catering next door but we still stayed and glad we did. Loaded avocado toast was a delight, and quality oats and yummy sausage. Croissant breakfast sando was ok. No full bar but mimosas available. read more

Ana's Kitchen should really have a new Yelp site because the majority of these reviews are from their time at the old Peabury's location. They are now in a cozy little place in West Simsbury and really serve up a nice breakfast. The food and service is solid four stars. I have been here for breakfast several times and have not been disappointed. Today I ordered the shakshuka, which was beautifully presented and pretty darn good. My only critique would be just a tad heavy on the oil. It comes with some crunchy sourdough bread. The service here is very good and friendly, and the parking easy. We use to come here and they had a great breakfast combo that was reasonably priced. We came in today and they raised their prices, which is fine, we get that, everything is going up! However, they now don't include coffee or Orange juice and they now give a small tiny 2 oz cup with 1/2 a strawberry and 5 blueberries and no granola. (It use to come in a large container with fruit and granola on top.) when we asked if it comes with coffee or orange juice, we were told "either" instead of saying it no longer came with the meal. We were charged for OJ and Coffee and the little container of granola that we asked for. For 4 people it was $100!!! For Breakfast!!!! And the girls were barely polite and not very welcoming (in my opinion). The food is good here but it is WAY over priced now!!! Sadly we will not be returning here. Came here for breakfast. It's very cute and homey feeling inside. Ambient noise is quite low so you can have a normal conversation volume without screaming. The food is on the pricier side, so don't be going there looking for a deal lol. I had Carson's Spicy Burrito. It was pretty good wasn't overly spicy.. more like just a hint of heat. I asked for some hot sauce to solve that. I'd have to say I think the only thing I didn't like was for the price, there should have been some sort of side.. like a fruit cup, home fries, toast. I left there still hungry.. it wasn't huge.. just on a bit of the smaller side. But everything was really great quality and super fresh. It was made with love. Yeah, it was confusing. The sign over the building still says 'Peaberry's'. The etched designs on the front windows still say 'Peaberry's' The servers shirts still say 'Peaberry's'. The coffee cups still say 'Peaberry's' But the website for Peaberry's directs you to a website for Ana's. Our service bill said Ana's. Anyway, about a month ago, the old Peaberry's was sold to new owners who did some remodeling and reopened as Ana's Kitchen Café. The interior looks pretty much the same, we did notice some subtle changes. Floorspace has been opened up to make the place more roomy, the old tile floor was replaced with a wood floor, and I saw a new muted white and yellow color scheme on the walls. The menu is pretty similar- lots of sandwiches and salads and soups and coffees and teas, and lots of wonderful baked goods. For lunch, we went with a ham, egg, and cheese bagel sandwich (just $4!!) and a soup and half sandwich special for $9.25. The mushroom soup was excellent- great taste, piping hot, plenty of mushrooms. I went with half of their 'Bumstead' - a ciabatta bread with turkey, ham, cheese, roasted red peppers, and spinach. It had a lot of turkey on it and was served very cold. I think it would have tasted a lot better warmed up. One odd quirk we noticed- after you go up to the counter and order, you will be asked 'what table will you be sitting at? '. Each table has a number on it, and you have to tell them where you will be sitting so you get your food and not your neighbor's food. This morning we tried a three egg omelette and bagel with cream cheese and lox all for breakfast to see how Ana does with the morning meal. This was a delivery to our home. The bagel was very good crispy on the outside and soft on the inside just like a bagel should be with a nice spread of cream cheese and dill, red onion and smoked salmon. This was excellent at a great price. The three egg omelette I ordered with onion, bacon, and ham with cheddar cheese and was delicious! Ana's did well with our first try. read more

Had an amazing meal at Ana's Kitchen today at their new location in West Simsbury. It was an easy ride from Glastonbury and also very easy to find. And incredibly worth it. I went with friends this time but looking forward to bringing my husband back next time. Some of us had lunch but one had breakfast and everything was incredibly fresh, creatively prepared and delicious. Great, friendly service and place is eclectic, cozy cafe vibe. I had the grilled chicken guacamole quinoa bowl (all fresh with homemade tortilla chips as well). Fresh French press coffee served (your own carafe) for all the coffee drinkers. This was my first time going to Ana's since they changed location, and I was so pleasantly surprised! A nice, classy environment with a lot of great breakfast items on the menu. My avocado everything toast was delicious, and my latte was also a great choice. I hate to do this because it's so close and because when they're good, they're great, but I think I might finally be done with Ana's. They are so horribly inconsistent and very overpriced. I spent about $20 on a salad with old wilted frozen looking lettuce. I'm happy they remembered the dressing because that isn't always promised. And a $12 BLT with no lettuce?! Stopped on my lunch break and was it the best decision of my life! Location was in a busy shop but not too much traffic when I arrived. Exterior was well lit and has outdoor seating! The exterior was extremely well kept and appealing. Interiors was extremely spacious and open. Seating wasn't too tight. Tables were cleaned off. Chairs pushed in. The seating has pillows around the benches to add to the appeal. Food: ordered a Chipotle Chicken Keto bowl The amount for price was extremely worth it! The meal had so many different flavors with an kick of spice. The onions were super thin and edible! The chicken was grilled with slightly crisp. I have to agree with so many of the other reviews of Ana's Kitchen: Peaberry's Cafe was so much better. It was always warm, welcoming, and the food was always made quickly. Now the place is constantly dirty, the staff can't even offer a smile or hello, and there isn't even a menu you can look at on the wall before ordering! You have to wait until you get to the counter to look at a sticky laminated menu with very limited, very unoriginal options. There is nothing but bland sandwiches and soups you can find at any restaurant and the poor service makes it awkward the minute you walk through the door. I was very unimpressed by the burnt turkey sandwich with soggy lettuce I received. It really sends a message when you stop for lunch at 1 in the afternoon on a cold Saturday and there is only one other customer in the entire place. People are obviously quickly catching on that this is not the cozy cafe it once was. It's a shame really because it's in such a convenient location. read more

I work right around the corner from the new location. Was very happy to hear another place was going in there to make lunch quick and easy! I order a chicken salad sandwich and a lemonade online. I went to pick it up, and the order did not go through, which is not their fault at all! They offered to drive it over to me as soon as they made it! In less than 10 minutes, they came to deliver it! I have been to Ana's Kitchen several times and have never been disappointed. I have gotten their lox avocado toast, breakfast burrito, mushroom breakfast bowl, and chicken salad sandwich. Every time the food is delicious and made perfectly! Plus, the atmosphere of Ana's Kitchen is super inviting and friendly! I ultimately decided to use Ana's Kitchen to cater my breakfast the morning of my wedding for me, my husband, and our wedding party. We had a pretty large order (14 people), but Helena and the workers here were organized and professional. They delivered our food for us and had everything in individual boxes that were neatly labeled. They had everything included that we could have needed - ketchup, silverware, salt, pepper, etc. They even threw in another box of coffee and some delicious pastries for me and my husband for free! Everyone raved about how delicious the food was, and the portions were big enough that we had some left over for later in the afternoon. I will make a special trip to Simsbury to keep coming here, even though I don't live close! read more

The good: It's a very nice space...just what you picture when you think "local coffeehouse." They have several cafe-style tables, and even a library-feeling space in the back with leather armchairs and a fireplace. The bad: The service has been hit-or-miss the couple times I've been here. The "miss" time, there was only one young woman handling both the register and the coffee, so we had to wait for her to handle all the orders/paying before she got around to preparing our coffee order. The coffee: I'm not a coffee snob, and the coffees I've had here seem fine. But be aware of the sizes. Sorry to say that Ana's didn't live up to the expectations. We came for Mother's Day brunch and although we expected to wait we weren't expecting an hour long wait. Furthermore, my dish didn't come until half an hour later on top of the hour, when my family had already finished their meals. I was hoping for something, anything from the owners, a comp or discount voucher for the next visit but nothing. Not even a thank you for coming. Also the prices were sky high for mediocre foods. We paid almost $90 for small meals and considering the wait and the quality of the foods paying that much made the experience that much worse. Service was ok. Nothing great. We weren't checked on once even after my meal was missed. My husband had to go up to the counter and let them know. Not sure I'll go back... but if I do hopefully it'll be better than today. My time in Ana's Kitchen was amazing. The food was superb, the waiters were respectful, the tables were clean, and the restaurant as a whole was very tidy. I specifically had the spicy burrito and it was amazing. Every part of it was delicious. The egg, the potatoes, and the beans as well. What's crazy is that I normally don't even like beans, but Ana's kitchen seemed to turn that around for me. The burrito was flavorful and clearly well-seasoned. Being new to Simsbury we tried Ana's today based on some favorable reviews. I have to say we won't be going back. My wife got an all American breakfast. Asked for an egg over easy and got scrambled. The bacon seemed old and overcooked as were her hash browns. My brioche French toast was completely soaked in syrup. The brioche wasn't as thick as I'm used too and I would think that syrup should be served on the side. My bacon was also overcooked. Another turnoff was some pastries they had on a table for purchase. Some were wrapped in clear plastic but others were not. They should have been covered or had tongs available so you would know they hadn't been touched. As a place that specializes in breakfast this was a complete disappointmen. read more

Ana's is very good and extremely personable. I love their lemon scones, and Everything-But-the-Kitchen cookies. The walnut scone is also delicious. The chicken pot pie and shrimp pot pies are flaky and amazing. They are no longer on the menu, but if you ask Ana a day before she will make them for you the next morning when she comes in. read more

First time here at least as Ana's. Place was nice and staff was very pleasant. I went in after the lunch hour so there was no wait ordering . Ordered a Apple caramel butter latte. It was delicious. Hint of apple caramel flavor but not too strong and while I don't know what the sugar content was it didn't taste overly sweet. Started my lunch with the butternut squash soup. To be honest, didn't love it. It was more brothy then I like and there were chunks of squash that could've cooked longer. I like my butternut squash soup creamier. I then had the turkey avocado sandwich on multigrain bread. It was really good and it came with chips. Who doesn't love chips with a sandwich. Pretty big portion, and a generous amount of avocado (which I love). I will be back, definitely need to try some of those other latte flavors! read more

After a quick hike a friend and I decided to stop by somewhere new for a cold beverage. Before walking in I was expecting a cute and cozy coffee shop. This looked more like a Panera Bread with a random "cozy" seating area in the back. The set-up didn't have much of a flow or originality to it. I ordered an iced latte with almond milk, raspberry and coconut flavoring. I could not taste the coconut at all and it also did not taste like almond milk. It seemed as though the beverage was thrown together. My friend got an iced green tea (not much you can mess up there). We checked out the food menu to see if anything looked appealing (it did), but the prices were way too high for a cafe. The staff seemed disconnected from the customers. They weren't very personal and it was almost as if it was a hassle for you to place an order. I most likely would not go back to Peaberry's. read more

For the kindness of the baristas and the owner, Cindy Rowland, alone, I will be back to Peaberry's. I appreciate the efforts of the staff and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of this cafe. The coffee is decent and will be crafted exactly to your liking by the baristas. After seeing a special flavor latte--vanilla cinnamon--I asked when I first tried this cafe if it could done as it was no longer a special when I stopped in and is not on the menu. The barista said, "Of course" with ease and got to work immediately. It had a good flavor balance of cinnamon and a touch of vanilla. I decided to stop in again after a positive first experience, and was again greeted by kindness of the baristas and even the owner, Cindy, herself. I ordered a nitro coffee and a hot chocolate, with a vanilla cinnamon latte to go, while my friend got a dirty chai. The hot chocolate was too milky, with little chocolate flavor. The barista was kind and added whipped cream in a little coffee cup when I asked if I could have some on the side, but the addition of the whipped cream to the hot chocolate did not really do anything to the plain milky flavor. I also found the taste of the vanilla cinnamon latte to be more artificial than the first time and the flavor to overwhelm and mask the espresso. My friend thought her dirty chai was not as spicy as chais usually are, and we realized the vanilla flavor that Peaberry's uses must have caused it. The nitro coffee, however, is clearly a stand-out here, like the great service. It is incredibly smooth and flavorful. It needs absolutely nothing added. It has an excellent consistency, too, as though milk has been added to coffee, though it is not in this. Once you see that square machine behind the counter with the big label "Nitro" on it, you will undoubtedly want to try it. It is guaranteed to be a solid choice. I have not seen this type of coffee anywhere in the area, and it is definitely something to give a try. The cafe has a sizable selection of sandwiches and a decent choice of pastries, and all drinks can be specialized. My friend and I will likely not be back soon though, after our latest beverage experience, but we may try sandwiches on some time in the future, and of course grab a glass of nitro coffee. read more
