You won't leave hungry especially if you order the Barrio Bowl or Pollo con Hongos or Pollo a la Parillo. All excellent. It used to be my favorite place, I went once a week. Few weeks ago my husband and I went and ordered 2 top shelf margarita and I always add an extra shot of tequila. We got our margarita and it was foamy. I took a sip let my husband taste it, it tasted bad . I decided to add my extra shot tequila and it see if it got better. It did not, I called my waitress and my husband told her that both of our drinks were bad. She was sooo rude and only would talk to me, made me feel like I was stealing something.. we only had taken one sip . She had the manager come and drill us. replaced our drinks and we ate dinner . I asked other restaurants managers why the margarita was foamy. I keep hearing that the lime juice was expired. The way that waitress treated me deplorable and I will never be spending a dime there. I was looking for a quick lunch spot and I stumbled upon here when craving some tex mex. The restaurant is newly renovated giving it a slightly upscale vibe, but without the pricing of it. The service was fantastic and the food was great as well. Everything came out decently quick and the food was fantastic. We shared a cup of queso. The seasoning was well balanced as to not cover the flavor of the cheese. We followed that by sharing a half order of Parrillo platter which is chicken, beef and shrimp on a bed if sauted veggies. Delicious flavor in generous portion. We even had leftovers. We were visiting the area and wanted something good. Using yelp once again, we decided on Anamia's. I've been so happy to have yelp as a city guide and always use it "out of town". If you get tired of chains yelp is fantastic for finding those hidden gems in unfamiliar territory. It's an understated part of a shopping center and so we had to look for it. In the picture I posted, the name plate is small and also understated, so it's not like it jumps out at ya. But that's ok, because once inside the place looks really nice and clean. We were greeted and seated right away. For the most part the clientele was upscale and the staff friendly. I ordered the chicken with hongos (mushrooms) exchanged onions for a few jalepenos. As you can see from the picture my portion was rather large, I took home enough for a second meal. Could be shared for two small people easily. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned with almost too much cheese ( if you can believe that). My wife ordered some quesadillas. They were very good as well but didn't take a pic. The Last picture is the spicy salsa compared to the regular. WOW! it was delicious, but very spicy. So if you like spicy, it's the pep your looking for. I would go back just for the salsa. My wife mixed it with the regular and said it was too hot for her. Over all this place is where I would eat regularly. The only experience that was negative was a man, who appeared to be drunk and had his shorts hanging down on his butt like a ghetto rat. He was then was scratching said butt, right there for the world to see. The manager promptly and politely ask the patron to vacate in which he did. I was extremely impressed with the managers calm ability to quickly and quietly dispense with the situation. I have been to this place several times when I visit Texas and it has never failed me. The interior is very pretty and the bar area is great for grabbing a margarita while you wait for a table. Once you get seated, the first thing you should do is order the Tableside Guacamole. It is absolutely the best guacamole I have ever had in my life and I cannot walk into Anamia's without ordering it. Besides the tableside guacamole, every entree I have ordered here has been great and I have never had bad service. Highly recommended!! read more

I specifically stated to the waiter that I can't eat meat due to it being lent and the waiter recommended the spinach enchiladas. For some reason he gave me spinach enchiladas topped with chile con carne (beef) sauce and I only realized this after eating it. Really? How do you recommend a beef sauce dish to someone abstaining from eating meat? This waiter clearly wasn't the sharpest. Anamia's is the most Coppell of Coppell restaurants. It's not on the menu, but it comes with the guarantee of running into someone you know there. If you grew up in Coppell and come back for the holidays, it's essentially a mini HS reunion. But in all seriousness, A's has great food, great margs, and a great staff. A good sized menu that is all done well and a more upscale approach to Tex Mex that's done well. They have some killer enchiladas, and the fajita salad is a favorite go to of mine as well. Also, they have a great bar off to the side of the dining room that's an awesome place to take in a margarita or mojito. So, if you live in Coppell, stop on by like every other Coppellian. read more

Their table guacamole is a MUST ORDER!!! I came in with coworkers and we all shared a guac appetizer. It was a pretty cool experience. Waiter push a cart by your table with all the ingredients and make it there for you. You can control the spiciness of your guacamole, just let them know if you like it mild or HOT. I said hot but it wasn't that hot to me so keep that in mind. Also, they didn't squeeze any lime juice in there so it wasn't that flavorful but it was still good. For entree I had the lunch fajita plate. It doesn't come out on a skillet keep in mind. They give you the fajita meat on a plate with bell peppers and onion. There is also sour cream and guacamole, side of tortillas. The meat I can tell was good quality. It was chewy and it wasn't hard. It was actually tender and perfectly cooked. Just grabbed lunch for takeout, it being my first time here. Honestly, I was running out of local lunch options and decided to give Anamia's a try, although chain Tex-Mex does not appeal to me. Been in TX 2 years and still trying to figure out what "Tex-Mex" is. Having eaten my fair share of Mexican food via friends, Puerto Vallarta, Ensanada, Tijuana, Rosarita and San Diego, my taste buds don't lie! I ordered the chicken enchilada lunch special and it was just ok (mind you I wasn't expecting much). Salsa was just ok- no kick at all which was a bummer because I like some spice in my salsa. Not very impressed. The food reminded me of Rosas quality. Blah...and at least Rosas quality matches their price. My lunch was almost $10 for what I consider fancy fast food. As far as the takeout experience, while the hostess and everyone were friendly, it still took a while (7 mins) to check out and receive my food, and it's very dark in there. I have been coming to this Anamia's regularly when visiting Coppell for longer than I can remember. Over the years they have consistently had fantastic service, good food, and a clear commitment to providing a quality dining experience. I most recently visited Anamia's yesterday - only the second time I have eaten at a restaurant since early March. I am still very cautious about eating out during this time, but it was clear that Anamia's is working hard to provide a safe dining experience for both their customers and their staff. Everything was extremely clean, we were seated far apart from other diners, the employees were wearing masks, disposable menus, etc. From someone who still has to be very careful leaving the house, thank you for all of the staff for their efforts. I had the half order of the brisket quesadillas. These are my new favorite thing to order here - if you haven't tried them or are skeptical, do not hesitate. They are truly fantastic. A half order is a great portion size for an adult - but get the whole order if you want delicious leftovers, or you're sharing! It was so wonderful to have a "normal" dining experience again - so great to spend that time with family I haven't seen in months, in fact, that I didn't even remember to take photos! Went with a few coworkers yesterday. It was my 2nd time and it did not disappoint. I ordered the #6 off of the lunch menu... Pork tamale, chicken enchilada, Spanish rice and black beans. Not too salty, lots of flavor. The only downside this time was the chips were a little stale but that can happen anywhere. One day I gave in and tried it- do you know that was in March and it's still March and I've been 3-4 times already. It's so good! So this does seem to be the best Tex Mex around! Coming in at almost 8p on a Saturday night, there wasn't a wait to seat our party of five. It was still busy nonetheless. First of all, when you're starting off with the chips and salsa, do yourself a favor and order the queso. It's rich and absolutely addicting. Be careful filling yourself up with these before getting to the main meal! I tried La Parrillada, which was like a giant fajita skillet platter with chicken, beef, and shrimp on a bed of onions and vegetables, plus your choice of corn and flour tortillas. It supposedly feeds two people, but we ordered two La Parrillada dishes for five people and still had leftovers. The shrimp was the most flavorful protein on the platter and definitely my favorite of the three. The chicken was tender (although not so much as leftovers), and the beef was savory and chewy. The service was great; the food was out quicker than expected and the servers were very attentive keeping our starter chips/salsa bowls full. Excellent place for Tex Mex! Was not impressed by the food or service. Tables are cramped. There are much tastier places to eat similar to this like Glorias or Salsa TexMex. The beef and shrimp fajitas were lacking the typical flame grill marks and tasted like they were boiled and then presented on the skillet. The so called grilled onions had the appearance of sauerkraut. Furthermore I ordered half beef / half shrimp and they tried to charge me $6.95 for the three pieces of shrimp that was added as a "side of shrimp". Other places usually only charge you a few dollars more for as a premium for half/half. This was only removed from my bill after a heated discussion with the manager. read more
