I went to school in Buffalo and have been to the original many times. I just found out about this one and had to stop by when dropping my kid off at college nearby. It did not disappoint. Everyone knows that I am a wing snob. Being from Buffalo NY, it's hard not to be. I'm insanely picky. I'm not even sure if I have been to an Anchor Bar in NY, as I always went to local joints for wings. But I went to visit my bestie in Ft Collins (who is also from buffalo) and she raved about this new Anchor Bar so we went today! This place was great! We were seated right away and ordered some yummy frozen cocktails and then wings! I got the bone in wings, crispy and saucy ("wet" in NY speak) and a side of fries. I ordered the wings medium and they were great! My friends ordered a pizza which came with the small pepperoni (IYKYK) and said it was delicious. They also ordered a beef on weck (another WNY staple) and ate it up so fast! Everything was great here from the service to the food! We will be back for sure! I love wings and have been to many places and these are truly amazing. I got just the original because I wanted to try the wings that started it all. I also ordered Roast Beef on Weck. This sandwich was so juicy and flavorful and piled high with roast beef. The service was amazing as well. Our server was super friendly. The restaurant was kept clean and nice. Wings are really good here. They are crispy and just the right amount of sauce. Big restaurant so can handle big parties. Lots of tvs so easy to watch wherever they seat you. My only reason for giving a 3 is due to the wait staff and lack of attention to cleanliness. I watched waiters hold beer glasses on the rim of the glass when serving at a table and then go bus tables. Super gross. Also our waiter started arguing with my husband about his cocktail that he wanted to send back because it wasn't mixed right. He said he already charged us for it and couldn't replace it. They did the right thing in the end but it's odd that they even pressed him on it. You may want to check your bartenders. read more

The food was excellent, and beer was cold, but the service really stood out to us as one of the best parts of the experience. After about 15 minutes, I checked in with the host to make sure he let a server know we were there, even though there were a couple of other servers helping nearby tables. People who've known me for a while know that it's always been a bucket list trip for me to head to Anchor Bar in Buffalo, NY to try the birthplace of the food item nearest and dearest to my heart: Hot Wings. So you can imagine my excitement when I found Anchor Bar was coming to Colorado, and I have to say that I can now successfully check off this bucket list food trip! I ordered both traditional and boneless wings, and they came out hot and crispy, and I was able to try multiple sauces, each having a pleasant balance of flavor and heat, that paired well with their signature blue cheese. Knowing Colorado is a ranch dipping state though, they also had a house ranch, that stacked as one of the best ranches I've had. Anchor Bar in Loveland brings all the original recipes, decor, and vibe from the original, and I was lucky enough to also come on a Bills game day, and the Buffalo faithful had packed the bar area. If you even mildly enjoy hot wings, you owe it to yourself to visit the originator, Anchor Bar.
