On Sunday I went to the bakery and I was looking forward to my favorite sandwich. I had not had one since the pandemic started. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed. The ciabatta bread was delicious but the sandwich had hardly anything in the bread. I ordered the caparese sandwich there was one small piece of lettuce and two small slices of cheese barely enough to cover the inside of the sandwich. To make matters worse the employees making the sandwiches were wearing masks but they were not on correctly. The masks were below the nose and not covering the nose. Very unsanitary. The employees were wearing gloves but not changing them at appropriate times. Management needs to address this immediately. read more

I always stop here for a quick bite or to load myself with some great pastries!!! Make sure you stand in the right line since there is one for pastries and other for sandwiches. Good seating area but could get crowded during peak hours. I just love the pastries here....my favorite is cheese danish!!! Just tastes so fresh and prices are very reasonable! read more

The "manager" told us to go to the other register if we wanted bakery items. Nobody was at the register so after a minute I realized this guy has no control over his place and we left. Maybe he needs to find another calling. We went to the Nordstrom eBar instead. After reading the other reviews I can't believe that jerk still has a job. Convenient in location and fast service, but limited in seating and a bit compacted. The lady behind the register was happy and friendly, but she got our order wrong. I noticed it after I ate my whole sandwich, too late to complain now I didn't get any, but they seem to provide water and one sample. This place is a mess! Lines are extremely long, horrible customer service, hardly any seating, dirty tables, trash backed up and mediocre food. It took almost 20 minutes to receive a lemonade and a cold chicken sandwich with deli meat, one avocado slice, no aioli and wilted old lettuce. All for $19. When I asked for a glass of water too, cashier told me no, and said I had to buy a bottled water. I will never return. read more

They also has free samples of some walnut bread that was really good, so ended up buy one as well. Also got their ham and cheese croissant, which was disappointing. My wife and I usually get the turkey avocado swiss on sourdough and pair it with the godlike cheese breads (favs= jalapeno, international, garlic and pizza) get them toasted and sliced. Also good is their great variety of Danish, cookies, and inventive sweet treats. Really the only place I wanna eat while shopping after that Thai place (w/ the great pad ke mow) shutdown and cheesecake factory started consistantly holding at 1 hour waits (mad ghetto now). Whenever I have to take the ACE Train, I stop by Anderson's to get a few of their loaves of bread. I usually get garlic, international, and the Pisano. These loaves have a cheese filling in them, and when toasted and sliced, are delicious! Unfortunately I wish I can say the same thing about their salad. I ordered the mini chicken fruit salad to go because I absolutely cannot miss my bus to the train station. If I miss it, then I miss my train, and the buses come hourly. So as I'm now sitting here at the bus stop eating the salad, I realized that there's no dressing. I'm not a big fan of leaves. But I force myself to eat salads because they are healthy. I looked through the bags they gave me to see if the dressing came separately. Nothing. I looked sifted through the leaves... Nothing. I'm disappointed. Luckily it didn't taste too bad. The salad came with apples, mandarin oranges, grapes, and pecans. The fruit and pecans gave the salad flavor, but it would've been better with the sesame vinaigrette it advertised. I recommend their breads. But if you're getting a salad, don't get it to go. Dine in just in case there's a mistake. read more

Came here during lunch time and there was no wait or line. There is no food court in this mall and this is probably one of the few healthier choices to eat at. What I did not understand about this location was why they do not do the half sandwich and half soup option like the other Anderson Bakery places do. Anyways, I ordered the chicken sandwich on wheat bread. The sandwich was ok. It was a little dry and I had better. It was cut in half and each wrapped separately. It cost around 7 bucks if I remembered correctly. Which was not too bad considering everything in the mall costs around the same. Anther time i came here in the morning and updated a breakfast ham cheese sandwich. It was warmed up upon ordering and was delicious. If I were to come to this mall during breakfast hours and want something small I would only go here. The employees were nice and I never had a problem with them. The Stoneridge Mall Anderson Bakery is one of the smaller locations in the Bay Area. They still carry all of the yummy pastries and bread, along with made-to-order sandwiches, salads, and soup bowls, but it can get extremely crowded inside. I really wish that they thought about expanding or renting a different location here. Luckily, if you're like me and only want bread, you can wait at the line near the front of the bakery, which usually moves quickly. I really enjoy their Raisin Apple Bread and Rustic Sourdough Bread, which is always fresh, but very basic in flavor. Staff members are courteous enough here, but you can tell that their goal is to just help as many people as they can. read more

I have gone to Anderson bakery since I was little and have very fond memories there. today I went in and purchased a croissant with cash and I sat down in the back and waited for them to warm it up. 5 minutes later still no croissant so I go up to ask for it. Then I was repeatedly accused of not paying for it - being questioned "who took your order". I wasnt paying attention to who was taking my order I didn't think I had to. It's a shame that this place does not have a better rating. My mom and I have been coming here for years, since I was in middle school. Their pastries are yummy! I love the ones that have cream cheese and raspberry. They also have really great jalapeño bread, which they can slice up for you. I'm not a big fan of the sandwiches, but my mom loves them, and I appreciate that there's vegetarian options for her which a lot of other places in the mall don't have. The cons?: There is very limited seating and its right next to the bakery and sandwich lines. Your food may take a while to come out. wow wow wow. we came in "just to see" & ended up having the tastiest din din. I had half of a veggie sandwich with butternut squash soup & my cousin had the turkey sandwich. Both delicious. it's hard to find healthy filling food @ the mall- but this place has it ! Afterwards, we ordered some dessert- one mango English bread thing, & one almond croissant. the almond croissant was SO good, we had to order another one right away. Once we were done with that one, we really thought about ordering another but had to stop ourselves. Would really recommend if you're craving a quick and tasty meal. One of our favorite go to sandwich spots. We always get ours to go, so never really deal with the tables, they do not have enough staff to have someone clean, they are all busy behind the counter. Stoneridge Mall's better lunch bargain. Darn good sandwiches put together with care, made with bread that's as good as La Brea Bakery back in Los Angeles. I also am in salivating lickin' awe with their Butternut Squash soup. I asked the cashier so what kind of coffee you got, he said, "Regular or Decaf." I peeked past him and it was some kind of French Roast out of a dispenser. So underwhelming coffee led me to Dr. Pepper. I've been coming here awhile now. I'm not sure whats going on with this place, but their service is lacking. I was waiting for service at the baked goods counter and was asked, very rudely, if I was needing something and then told I would have to wait in the line already there. Ok, fine, but you don't have to be rude about it. I could tell they were running behind because nothing was done. The signs were not out, there were items missing from the bakery, the people behind the counter were running around like chickens without heads. . . When it was our turn the guy behind the counter was just rude. Since I couldn't see the names on the items it was basically just pointing and saying "I'd like this or that". And, the guy waiting on us was saying "this one or that one". When he rang me up I handed him my card and he snatched it out of my hand. I just looked at my daughter. She was waiting for me to say something, but I just ignored his ignorance and took my card back. I don't care how short handed or busy you are, I will wait for what I want. My trusty lunch go-to. I always order the chicken avocado sandwich - with extra lettuce, sprouts, and cucumber (at no extra cost!) My favorite pastry here is the strawberry one *drool* with the best custard on the best croissant. I could eat five of them. The creamy french is their best seller (baguette with creamy custard inside) and it's pretty great. The strawberry pastry takes the cake for me tho. I have never ordered anything other than a sandwich from here as far as entrees go, but lots of people love their soups. You never know how quick your service is going to be. There is always a bit of a line and the workers always seem new to the registers, which takes longer. I do feel like the turnover rate here is high which disappoints me because I like going to places where the staff is being treated well. I docked a star because sometimes it takes five minutes out the door, other times it takes over twenty minutes. But if you have the time, the food is always consistent. I would recommend this place! I love love Andersen bakery, each time I walk by I can smell their aroma willing me to come inside. However, the branch in Stoneridge was a little disappointing. The service was slow, there were no utensils stocked, the creamer canisters were empty and the counters/tabletops were messy. It felt like understaffed and that the employees had just given up. But nobody did so i asked and they were like u can order ur coffee at the cashier i told them i ordered it already. Still nobody made it. I asked AGAIN n someone finally made it. A male employee was behind the bread counter and the female employee ( name tag-Natalie) was at the register. No one was in line but me. She gave me a number and I sat and waited for my cup of soup. After 10 minutes of watching them not do much, I approached the counter and asked if I was supposed to get my soup at the counter or stay seated. She told me to be seated.
