We chose Angie's because of the great reviews on Yelp and made a really good choice. Mg husband ordered the fried shrimp and I had the grilled. I also ordered a crab cake. The meal was delicious! I had two crab cakes during our stay and this one was my favorite! I really enjoyed the grilled shrimp as well. We had excellent service. We were brought water soon after being seated and when we would finish a plate they were quick to take it away. Our waitress was very helpful with questions I had about the menu as well. Angie's is a beautiful restaurant with white tablecloths and a beautiful dining room. It was not crowded being it was a Monday night but I can see it being full on the weekends. One other nice thing was they offer shuttle service to and from our hotel as parking is limited. We wish we would have known about it prior to going as we took an Uber but did ride it back. There were a lot of great sounding things on the menu but I think when restaurants offer too broad of a selection it's hard for them to really specialize in anything. Angie's seafood was a hit. I unusually like to open my reviews with this line to signal to all that read it exactly how I get about my experience. The truth is, Angie's was not my first choice. I originally planned to go to my favorite spot near Federal Hill but they were closed for cleaning and naturally I was very disappointed but I can understand way given the times in which we live. My bestie, another Yelp Elite member who was dining with me and a big fan of patronizing owned black businesses found this spot. We we arrived, we were surprised to see that indoor dining was an option but it clear that the restaurant was taking every precaution to ensure the safety of its guests. The staff were all wearing masks as well as the customers coming in. Upon out arrival, we were greeted by an African American gentleman who was very friendly and made sure we were sat promptly. The restaurant is clearly popular with the locals as guest kept coming and going. You don't come all the way to Baltimore and not enjoy the crabs. We had a dozen, a bottle of our favorite wine and some honey Old Bay wings and that's all she wrote. I now have another favorite seafood spot and a place to enjoy blue crab. read more

I read the other reviews and many said to ask for Ron, which we did when we made the reservation. He's friendly, goes above and beyond, and is as hardworking as a server can get. Angie sat us and took our drink orders, and seemed genuinely happy that our group came in. The food was delicious. We had a variety of menu items: crab legs, steak, shrimp, and crab cakes. I had food delivered to my hotel room from Angie's seafood during my stay in Baltimore. I had both the crab stuffed shrimp and fried shrimp with rice. I'm always worried about food being cold when I get delivery, but thankfully the food was well wrapped and arrived warm. The crab stuffed shrimp have a big portion of crab on top and are sitting in a butter sauce. At first I tasted some of the crab on top of the shrimp. It was what you would expect when in Maryland. Tasty perfectly cooked crab better than what I can get in Philly. But then when I took a full bite of the shrimp and crab with butter sauce on it... my mind was blown! It was amazing. Best. crab. stuffed. shrimp. EVER! The 5 star review was solidified at that very moment. I went from feeling down to being very happy as I ate eat one. Then I moved on to the fried shrimp. I had way too many to be able to eat them all, but that's a good problem to have. Here in Philly I would only expect to get like 6 shrimp. The shrimp were perfectly seasoned and nicely fried. Not quite as crispy as the very best friend shrimp. The fried shrimp had a tough act to follow. If you are a fan of friend shrimp you will be happy with an order from Angie's. I am in Baltimore at least once a year for a convention and we always make it a point to have seafood at least once during the trip. We have gone to the same place for 12 straight years, but discovered Angie's this year and after reading some good reviews, gave them a try. Great decision! Our free ride from an Inner Harbor hotel was courtesy of Angie's son who started us off with a great feeling including the back story on Fells Point and escorting us all the way to our table. We drew Vinnie as our waiter who answered questions and kept dinner rolling with expertise and excellent timing. We felt taken care of from start to finish including the shuttle ride back to our hotel. My local IPA was ice cold. My dinner salad was crisp and fresh. My cream of crab soup was intense and tasty with a mound of lump crap in the middle and just the right spice kick. My two big lump crab cakes were done just right, brimming with crab and a perfect balance of fresh flavor and spice. Outstanding. We will be back every year from here on! The reason I didn't do 5 stars was I didn't really enjoy the ambiance of the place. I did eat in the bar area so maybe that's why. Some of the staff were upset by some miscommunication behind the bar and I could notice their discomfort.
