Our server Hannah was nice and was attentive as she could be, they got a pop of business after we came in. We ordered the catfish basket with red beans and rice and the lobster roll to share. The catfish was ok, seemed like frozen battered but edible. Red beans were bland and served cold which Hannah quickly reheated as a fix. Lobster roll delicious and the star of the show. Came as a group of six girls, and our waitress was on top of it! She never let our water glasses run dry, and she patiently explained the menu to those who had never been there before. I got the shrimp and crab combo which came with a piece of corn and a potato, but the waitress honored my request for two pieces of corn instead at no extra charge. I got the Cajun and garlic seasoning with a spice level of two. While I didn't get it this time, their catfish and fries are some of the best I've ever had. They don't accept reservations but, when I was initially expecting our group to be closer to 10-15 people, I called ahead and they made a note of this and remembered this detail when we walked in. After a couple of visits to the Phoenix location of ACS, my daughter has become a big fan of the seafood boil. Since her birthday is coming up, I allowed her to choose a dinner destination after her soccer practice the other night... and sure enough, this is where we went! Matthew was our server and he was great. We found this location cleaner and the staff more attentive here than the other location. We enjoyed our meals... I had the shrimp crab combo with rice and veggies and my daughter had the shack trio with an extra lobster tail. She is an expensive date, but worth the splurge every now and then for sure! Our first lunch today at Angry Crab Shack was even more delightful than expected. Great, friendly service, piping hot food and a fun, laid back family atmosphere. My wife ordered the lunch combo with corn, potatoes, crab and shrimp. I enjoyed a pound of live crawfish (in season now through June) with new potatoes and of course, hush puppies (WITH butter as intended!). Everything was cooked perfectly, we wore our bibs and appreciated the scissors and shell-crackers. NOTE: it's SPICY! (which we so prefer). The device was so slow. They were not busy and we waited an exceptionally long time to be seated, get a server, receive menus, and order. The good thing is the food came fast. The reason for the three stars is the price point on their boils is outrageous. You are not allowed to order half pounds of food for the initial boil. So if you wanted to order crab, shrimp, mussels... you have to order a pound to start and the add on. The trifecta sauce was a great recommendation by server. She was nice enough but very annoyed with kids at end of table talking when she was explaining to the adults how the process works. Calm down... it's an old hooters location and not fancy (white paper on tables and customer graffiti) but worth trying if you want to spend your paycheck. read more

We have been happy Angry Crab customers for a couple years. Our go to is happy hour wings, calamari and shrimp cocktail and a happy hour beverage. The gumbo and salmon are always good. Ordered take out from here. Worst mistake. The lobster po boy was not only cold but soggy and chewy. It's was inedible. The salmon garlic noodle bowl was disgusting. The "garlic" noodles were overcooked, cold, mushy and had no flavor. The salmon was barely seasoned and overcooked. Overall I'm extremely disappointed as both meals were $20 and basically inedible. Darling atmosphere when you walk in- looks like a wharf or fishing company kinda look! We had a great server- can't recall his name or I would certainly mention him! I like how they decorated this place.  I ordered the fried catfish with onion rings.  Fresh catfish was full of tasty catfish flavor.  There were a few herbs which distracted me from the fried cornmeal batter.  Onion rings were panko battered with a few of the same herbs used with the catfish.  I liked the onion flavor but not the herbs.  I wouldn't order the fried catfish or onion rings again. I also tried the fried cod and cajun fries.  Cod was frozen and defrosted.  I didn't really notice it was frozen as it was good quality.  I liked the crunchy beer batter which contrasted the delicate cod. Cajun fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside.  I liked the seasoning on the fries.  I would get the fried cod and cajun fries again. Employees were nice and service was speedy. read more

There are no places I know of that have "boils" in the metro Phoenix area so this one has been where we go. I used to get their fried clams, which were good, but they took them off the menu. Fish and chips are good but i liked changing it up with the clams and fries or two mixed appetizers but that get pricy. Cant say I love the place but I do eat here. read more

I personally prefer garlic butter over this seasoning and a Romano, Parmesan cheese, but it's ok I'd give it a 3 out of 5. The lobster rolls were wonderful and the fried shrimp basket was good I loved the sweet potato fries. My friend tried their mango jalapeño margarita and she enjoyed it. The food is edible but not really that good. I had the best of the group which was the Jambalaya. The hush puppies are really odd in that they are not the normal ones that you find on the east coast. Angry Crab Shack in Scottsdale by Talking Stick Owner is horrible. Sally the self proclaimed manager and owner (not sure if she really is) was unprofessional and rude. We are from out of town but visited Angry Crab Shack many times before. This was our first time at this particular location. My children wanted McDonald's this time around because of the toy. Husband and I wanted seafood. Before getting the whole family down (5 of us including an infant) I ran inside to ask if outside food was acceptable, even mentioned it was McDonald's. There was no signage outside or at the check in desk BUT I wanted to safe than sorry. The waitress I asked at the front desk said yes that would be fine. She was very nice and bubbly. I ran back outside and motioned for my husband and kids to get down. As the nice waitress I asked about the food was seating us. A very rude woman came up from behind and an unwelcoming tone said very loudly with hand gestures NO OUTSIDE FOOD! I looked surprised. I informed her we asked and was told it was completely okay. I looked at the waitress and she was stunned, then appeared a bit worried. Nice waitress apologized and began to say she had told us otherwise to the 'owner' and before she could even finish the owner Sally gave everyone an unkind look and walked off. One of my sons whom is AUTISTIC was noticeably frightened. Holding his happy mean he felt he had done something wrong. My husband and I contemplated the kids eating in the vehicle with him to stay cool while I waited with our infant inside. But thats not what caring families do. We decided that this managers manners were beyond disrespectful. Even if this is the policy she had no right to come at us in a demanding tone as if we had done something wrong.We asked before entering the establishment and we're told yes. My husband took our children back out to the car and I went up to the kind waitress and told her that we were sorry but we would not be giving this franchise business and that it wasn't her fault (even though she gave us incorrect information) but because of the vulgar way the manager handled it. I then proceeded to ask the kind waitress the rude woman's name, she said Sally. And I kid you not Sally comes up and very loudly asks "WHAT DID YOU SAY". I responded by saying "I asked for your name." She responds "WHY". I then proceed with "Because I asked for YOUR name." I then asked if she was the manager and she confirmed she was. I explained as a manager its her job to let all employees know the rules and that her tone was rude and uncalled for especially since agian we asked prior to all coming in if we can bring in the kids McDonald's meals. When asked if she was also the franchise owner she said "Yes, I AM ONE of them!" My final response was, "Good to know, thank you." This was a good loss of business. Even though my kids had a happy meal my autistic son loves Crab so we planned to get him a 1 pound steamed Crab bag and my husband and I were to share the Family Feast. WELL OVER $200 in food. I am not blaming all A.C.S. for poor service but definitely will not choose this location again or any other ran by Sally. All this could have been avoided if she just came up to us and in calm, friendly tone noted that we were misinformed and could unfortunately not bring our children's food in. We did not like the way she spoke to us, we did not like the way she looked and spoke to the kind waitress, and we especially did not like the way she made our autistic son and other son fear they were in trouble!!! Bad management and ownership should not be rewarded. Speak kindly to your customers before jumping to conclusions. This isn't the first bad review for this location due to management. Please support one of the other 9 locations in the area. read more

Arrived here at noon on a Sunday and was seated right away. Ordered 1 lbs of shrimp w/ trifecta sauce and 1 lbs of shrimp w/ pacific rim sauce (coconut curry). Food came out very quickly.
