    Breakfast on the patio

Cute spot that's been around forever. Excellent covered and screened in patio. Great prices, comfort food and friendly service. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area :)

    Great burger and macaroni salad

What a lovely little local restaurant. We were staying in the hotel across the tracks and wanted to get out for a little lunch and stopped here. Little Falls is a small town with a lot.of character. It's a bright cheerful restaurant with a group of server whoo always have a smile and very helpful. Most of us had simple item.. sandwiches, burgers and salads. All good and extremely reasonably pried. I had a burger which was (a) cooked the way I asked for it, and (b) extremely tasty. I am sure that I'll be up that way more times in the futures and will definitely make them a stop if I'm nearby.

    Looks charming!

Definitely not without charm, this diner has the small town feel you might expect. I loved the menu and the prices made me smile too. The only thing that might (and I do mean MIGHT) prevent me from going back for breakfast specifically is the lack of fresh fruit. I just really like fresh fruit with my breakfast, but that's just me. There was a "Fresh Seasonal Fruit" item listed on the menu, but when I ordered that I was politely informed "She doesn't do that anymore." I guess the cook only does fresh seasonal fruit in the summer? I think I would definitely try this diner again for lunch, all of the specials looked great listed on the dry-erase specials board.

Summer salad plate. The chicken salad was top notch!

Love this place for breakfast! Recently tried it for lunch and was not disappointed. The chicken salad on the summer salad plate was amazing. The staff is always super friendly and service and food always consistent.

Been coming here for years when I visit LF.

Cheap, fast and really good. Most things are homeade. All dishes are under $6.75. We will be back!

During our most recent trip from Boston to Rochester, we stopped at a nearly empty Iroquois Travel Plaza and were pleased with this Chick-fil-A option. Luckily, I was able to find the secret entrance to the service area without having to get on thruway. While, I was so happy and lucky to find the secret passage was not so happy with my meal and the service received at this location. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of any of the locations on the thruway as they tend to be sub par. Location was not busy but staff took quite awhile to take and fulfill orders. Like all non freestanding locations they do not use the chick fil an app to take orders, earn points, and pay through app. Additionally, they do not offer chicken strips. Food tasted like it had refrigerator burn and had been reheated and did not taste fresh. Service was slow and had to wait a considerable amount of time for service. While it is a great fast food, food choice on thruway it is really not worth it given cost and quality of food.

Food is quite good, but I think they are still working out a lot of kinks in managing the dining room. We arrived early but waited to go in until reservation time. Parking was not available so another patron had parked on the grass and we parked next to them. Once winter arrives, I think ppl will end up have to park down Seneca Turnpike and walk back. The paved area isn't sufficient for a full dining room. It is a very modest bar, and a small dining room. There were ppl in front of us who were walk-ins. They mentioned one staff member told them it would be 20 minutes and another said two hours for walk-in. We figured it wouldn't be long for our 2 person reservation. Hmmm. I don't think anyone in particular is greeting patrons or managing reservations. The wait staff seemed to be pitching in as they could. The walk-ins (in front of us in line) were seated at a 2 person booth 20 minutes after our reservation. We objected as the other part of my party had been seated on a Saturday evening, very close to reservation time. The staff member said the walk-ins were waiting longer than those with reservations. As they should. We were seated after an hour past reservation time. Larger parties were seated on time after us, they had reservations 30 min after ours. Those tables had previously been pushed together for a party earlier, and staff didn't separate them for smaller parties that had earlier reservations. We were seated at a small table in front of the kitchen door. Food was quite good. We ordered wine as we arrived to the table as well as the meatball appetizer. Eventually someone stopped with menus. We ordered when someone else stopped at the table. About 50 min later, the entrees arrived. We did get our water glasses refilled. I had ordered haddock and it was fresh and very good. My friend ordered a fresh pasta dish, which was good, although not exactly as they ordered it. During our last hour there, (the owner) Christian Maya's father stopped to speak to us and he had checked in with us a couple times after the entrees were delivered. We really appreciated that attentiveness. So I took a star off for the reservation issues. I took a star off for gaps in service. I'm sure they will be able to improve on these things. For now, I recommend that you wait to go there unless you don't mind a considerable wait for a reservation.

However they do deserve a five star rating because they are offering something different compared to any other place in Catskill. The place is called "The salad bar" however their sandwiches are just as good if not better than the salad. The ingredients are always fresh and I've never been disappointed. Prices are fair considering the quality and overall we need more places that are different and unique like this in the village. They have small cozy area for you to chill and enjoy your meal and the service is always quick and friendly. Many of the towns in the Hudson Valley have been revitalizing their downtown areas with great success but Catskill Village seems to be moving a lot slower compared to those other areas. The salad bar is one of those places that's helping it move forward.

I had always been scared to go to the Happen Inn, as it's in the basement and one can't see much of it from the street. There aren't a lot of options in Little Falls, so we decided to take a chance and are thrilled that we did. The staff was really friendly and the other people in the bar didn't stare at us (like some local people do). There's a pool table and lots of tv's. It's light enough to not be sketchy, but not too bright. There was also jukebox music playing, but it wasn't so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves talk. They have lots of beer options and cheap prices. The food was also delicious (if cooked on a visible, greasy stove) and inexpensive. We had a steak quesadilla that easily weighed five pounds, full of cheese, steak, fresh mushrooms and griled onions, and a thick burger, topped with onion petals, cheese and sauce. They have daily specials and an interesting bar top. If you have to be in Little Falls, this is the place to go.
