First time dined there with my LSU son . I was searching for some Creole style Louisiana food . This was a good choice and I had shrimp and grits . This was so good and I cleaned up the plate. Sat outside and was waited on by a gentleman with dreads. Very pleasant, but he seemed to have a lot or too many tables to service. He also seemed to be more concerned with other tables and not ours. We ordered a kids meal for a 1 year old with pancakes. We had to ask about 4 times to get syrup. Asked for a to-go water more than 3 times and never received it. He almost let us leave without paying. We waited over 15 minutes to have our checks picked up. The food was not what I remembered at all. My English muffin was very burned, again i had to request a new one a few times. We use to love this place and now with poor service and not so great quality food, it's no longer a favorite. In addition to this, we noticed that the young woman who was designated to deliver food to customers in his section had her hair loose. When she was delivering food to a neighboring table, she held the large tray of food on her shoulder (this is normal) however her hair was hanging in their bowls. I informed our waiter of this because she was clearly unaware. I am certain this was not on purpose and a oversight as she is working in a busy restaurant during a somewhat Peak time. Customer service was good. The food was on point. The shrimp and grits was good. The chicken and waffle is good. The pancake is good. The Louisiana traditional is good. Mojito's apple, lemon berries, and St germain all three are good. Be careful those mojito will sneak up on you. They also have outside seating for when the weather is nice. The city grits are amazing! Everything else is so-so. Every time I eat here I'm shocked when I get the bill. Overpriced for a breakfast/brunch place! The food is decent, but honestly not worth the trouble I go through EVERY time I try to eat at this restaurant. If you want to eat here, DO NOT try to do it on the weekend. Wait time is always 30-60 minutes. Even if you try to check in ahead of time with the app, you end up waiting a ridiculous amount of time still when you arrive. Service is usually pretty slow too, so don't expect a quick meal! But like I said, the food is decent and it's one of the only breakfast places in town. I'd just recommend going to the one on Corporate. The service is still slow, but you don't usually have as many issues upon arrival. read more

Found a fingernail in my food showed it to the server who was less than thrilled about the fact that I was complaining to begin with and brought it to the manager who then came to the table and tried to tell me that it was a piece of the metal can and it couldn't be a fingernail because "everyone is wearing gloves" and did NOT offer to replace the item only asked if I wanted to keep it or not..not only was I left with no food but upon speaking to the server again because the solution wasn't really a solution..I was told that I could leave...don't see how they are still open.. read more

The crab cake Benedict was very excellent! The hollandaise sauce was perfect. The potatoes were cooked perfectly for the small crunch. The crawfish omelette was superb as well as the sauce. The coffee was boiling hot just as we like it and the orange juice was just right. The staff was nice from entering the front door all the way thru our meal. This is the perfect place for brunch! A must! To top it off, the coffee mug is a great souvenir hand made and any color you want. It is a must buy. The souvenir mug is a Baton Rouge must for the whole experience. read more

I gave this place a four since I rarely dish out a perfect score but I am impressed! I walked in to find the place deceptively spacious.. It looks like a small joint from the outside but it is large, clean, and very attractive. It's also pretty quiet for a place that was as packed as this one, the wait was short on a Sunday afternoon and the first thing I noticed when I walked in was the courtesy of the staff.. They smiled, were genuinely polite and happy to see us. It was a 25 minute wait so a good tip would be to go to the bar during the wait times, plenty of open seats there and easy to get a kick start with a Bloody Mary or a coffee as you wait. The bartender is so friendly! I suppose since this is a new joint everyone seems really eager to show their hospitality. The Bloody Mary was one of the best I've had and the coffee (which came out quick) is as good as it smells. The food was quick and very hearty. If you liked the original "Another Broken Egg" you'll love this place. Great place for a relaxing breakfast! Much needed in the area too. I'll definitely be coming here again. read more

I saw the guy 4 times...1 when I walked in the door, 2 when he brought back drink order, 3 he brought my food and to check on me after his manager spoke with me to ask if "everything is "all right". My vegetable omelette was good, good balance of mushroom and creamy goat cheese. The potatoes that accompanied where just inedible as they were super salty. The wheat English muffin also looked good but I didn't try it. As I mentioned the rest of the staff looked to be engaged, the manager offered a free app on my next visit, and even upped it to eliminating my bill because I said there probably wouldn't be a next visit. We had breakfast from here, for the first time, on Father's Day. My husband and I split the veggie omelette and it was fabulous. So much so, that when we ordered delivery today, I ordered it again. I'm sad to say it was not the same omelette. It seems that they just scooped a ton of spinach and put it in one spot and a ton of goat cheese and put it in another spot. I love this place! I have been a loyal broken egg or four years! I thoroughly enjoy this location more than the one on Citiplace Court. I don't know what they are doing different but the service, the quality of the food come and atmosphere just provide a better experience overall. I have been going long enough to see the menu change several times, yet the wait staff is always eager and helpful when I do my special requests to try to re-create my old many favorites. I take colleagues for work there very often since where else can you get a really good brunch at an affordable price? I also take my children because they're serving sizes are big enough to where the kids can eat off of my plate or I can buy them at children's pancake without breaking the bank. Right now my favorite dish is the Monterey omelette. I actually get it without cheese and without green chilies and sub the English muffin for extra fruit. It is hearty and delicious! And be sure to save room for their bacon. Anyway you like it cooked it is a must! I have not been on a weekend in a long time, but I do know they get very busy. My recommendation is to treat yourself during the work week and forgo the wait times! They are always adding and changing specialty cocktails too if that is your thing! We just had breakfast here for the first time while in town doing a Red Cross mission as volunteers helping with the aftermath of Hurricane Laura.
