Barista House Blend Coffee

I've been here few times now for breakfast and brunch and the quality has been consistent every visit. My son decided to try his eggs a new way (basted). Our server ,Noah ,was such a treat. He explained all the different ways the eggs could be prepared and didn't rush to explain the menu. I highly recommend the build your own omelet option if you like to try different flavors ! I added salsa to mine and loved it.

Was in the area and stopped in around 10:30am on a Saturday. There was a 15 minute wait, which wasn't bad. We were seated in a booth and noticed there is a bar area with TVs playing the college football games. If we'd have known the bar was an option we would have gladly sat there. Service was good. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros (I recommend adding the Chorizo) and my husband ordered Biscuits Gravy with Sausage. The huevos rancheros were excellent- really yummy! Fried flour tortilla chips, green chile, chorizo, cheese and a fried egg - I'd order this again. My husband said the Biscuits and Gravy were ok - I tasted the biscuit - it was good - fluffy and nice flavor. I think it just wasn't as much food as he'd hoped - would have been better to order a side of eggs or something else also (next time).

Apple Fritter French Toast

This restaurant was fantastic. We visited during LSUs family weekend and couldn't have been happier with our experience. Service was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious. There were 6 of us and we each had something different. Apple fritter French toast, Chicken and Waffles, eggs Bennie's and goat cheese and lemon pancakes with fresh blueberries and possibly the best breakfast Ive ever eaten, grilled andouille sausage with poached eggs and blackened shrimp over the softest garlic focaccia with a delicious Cajun hollandaise. O and the City Grits with Gouda holy moly. Seriously can't wait to fly from California to Baton Rouge again to eat at this restaurant

Black Eggs Blackstone Benedict

A go-to brunch spot! Their black stone benedict can't be beat! There are so many great pancake/waffle/french toast options! And if you do have a sweet tooth, their chocolate milk comes dressed up like a glacee - I have to get one each time! With how busy they stay, service is great and efficient. All locations have an option to join their waitlist on the website which I love for saving some wait time!

I've visited this restaurant many times at different locations. No matter which one I go to, there's always a level of inconsistency or problem with the visit. It's easy to go to when you don't know where to go so I keep going. This visit, when I walked in, there were two others waiting and nobody to greet us. About 5 minutes later, the hostess walked up, was pleasant, greeted us, sat the couple before me and then sat me. As I walked to the table, I loudly moved through the restaurant due to the stickiness of the floor. In a side note, when I left and went to the mall, my shoes were sticking all along the way. The server was extremely nice, attentive, and quick, however it was concerning that he was serving my food while his nose was running. No joke, I literally started sneezing uncontrollably after the fact and could only pray that his nose didn't drip in my plate/coffee. I think all people preparing or serving food should wear a mask. I also don't like that they don't have fancy coffee for the fancy menu. I went basic on my meal. The best experience I had at Another Broken was downtown Baton Rouge. I really hate that they closed. BTW the chicken sausage isn't very good.

I for one am a huge breakfast lover and this place hit the spot with breakfast! It has all the classic breakfasts you could possibly think of and a few more unique and delicious sounding options that make it hard to choose just one! Coffee and service seem to always be consistent here and I'm very happy with every time that I get to come here and enjoy my morning ! I can't wait to try more things from their menu !

Bacon & eggs

Outstanding service and tasty brunch at the Perkins Rd. branch of Another Broken Egg, in Baton Rouge, LA. The apple fritter French toast was absolutely delicious. We also ordered an omelet and a sandwich. The mimosas increased the atmosphere.

My super cute black tea when I asked for green tea

When you walk in, there's an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. The hostess was friendly with her warm greeting and seated us promptly. (It was a Monday morning, so we didn't expect a wait) once we were seated, our server was quick to come and take our drink orders. They have an extensive drink menu, but we settled on coffee and tea, even though a mid-morning cocktail was very appealing! We ordered our food and it was brought to us in a very timely fashion. Everything was presented nicely. But what we found was most of the food was flavorless. We had to add a lot of salt and pepper to just about everything. I even had to ask for a side of sour cream to accompany my omelette. I noticed the table next to us opted for the country potatoes which were totally burnt!! Our server was very friendly and attentive, however, when it came to settle our bill, it took a little longer than expected. The biggest shock to us was that our bill was pretty high for breakfast for two people!! $55 for two people without cocktails seems a little steep to us, but I'm sure it's totally fine to most. The reason for the mid-rating is because there was nothing that made us both say "oh, we're definitely coming back again for this!" It's a fine place, but doesn't seem to hold the cost/value to us.

Cinnamon Roll French Toast
Chels T.

This place gives me a "Jimmys Egg" vibe. The service was great. Our server was nice and attentive. My guest got a side of biscuits and gravy. Gravy tasted average and had no meat in it. I got the cinnamon roll French toast and it was absolutely delicious! It tasted exactly like a cinnamon roll. I would definitely return and get the same thing. Probably not biscuits and gravy though:

For a breakfast place with so much emphasis on way out and good food why would they even consider using frozen potatoes?? Very disappointed.

We specifically found this restaurant because we searched online for gluten free restaurants, so we were excited to see that you offered a separate gluten free menu. However, there are some serious issues with the accuracy of that menu that need to be addressed. When we asked about the pork rinds brought to the table, we were told they are fried in the same oil as everything else. That in itself is your choice as a restaurant, and we understand cross contamination can happen. We were also told the french fries are cooked in beef tallow in a separate fryer, but they are not considered gluten free, which is why they are not listed on the gluten free menu. Again, that is completely understandable. What is not acceptable is having items listed on the gluten free menu that are not actually gluten free due to cross contamination. The pork rinds and cheddar filled tater tots were both listed on the gluten free menu despite being fried in shared oil with gluten containing foods. For someone with celiac disease, this is not a small mistake or a dietary preference issue. My husband has celiac disease, and if he had eaten the pork rinds based on trusting the gluten free menu, he could have become extremely ill and potentially needed hospital care. Our daughter has gluten sensitivity, and she would have been sick for the rest of the night as well. Many people still treat gluten free as if it is just a fad diet, but for people with celiac disease, it is a serious autoimmune condition that causes real physical harm. To the OWNER: please educate your staff and kitchen on what gluten free truly means, and update the menu so customers can trust it. People with celiac disease should not have to risk getting sick because menu items are mislabeled.

It's Simple as the name suggests…read more Nothing fancy or elaborate about this place. It's a small restaurant with a small open kitchen and a small dining room where you stand in line to place your order, get a number to put on your table, and servers bring the food to your table when it's ready. So, if you're looking for a large upscale, elegant restaurant with elaborate food presentations, this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for a simple, quick and delicious meal, Simple Joe Café is for you. The menu consists of a wide variety of breakfast favorites, but the menu is not intimidating and easy to read and order from. Simple enough. When my family and I arrived, the small dining room was packed with a few open tables and about six other customers in line waiting to place their order. On Saturday and Sunday, you cannot sit at the open tables or hold the tables until you have placed your order and given a tent number. At that point, the servers will help you find a table to accommodate your party. The employees do a very good job of clearing and turning over the tables to make sure everyone is seated and able to enjoy their meal in a timely manner. I am not a fan of breakfast food and normally don't eat breakfast, so I only had coffee while my family enjoyed their meal, so the food quality part of this review is based on what they described as they were eating. They each ordered Joe's Number One Breakfast Combos which came with two eggs, choice of meat and pancakes and they shared an order of hashbrown and a side of grits. The food came out quickly. They stated everything was fresh, prepared and cooked as requested, the food tasted very good and enjoyed every bite. Of course, the coffee was hot, and fresh and the service was fast and friendly. The relaxed ambience and decor add to the unique character of the restaurant. Date of Visit: Saturday 05-16-26 Simple Joe Café | 3057 Government St, Baton Rouge, LA

Instead, I was trying to meet a friend for lunch and he was so late that we couldn't get in where were trying to go. I saw the sign and off we went to Simple Joe Cafe. Simple, it is. Awesome food, it also is. This place is not fancy nor is it meant to be. This is a solidly Americana type menu and ordering at the counter, serving your own coffee, and picking your own table kind of place. AKA - the kind of place I love. I have been here a few times now and only had breakfast. Hint: they serve it all day. The two meat omelet is a great choice and has been my go-to. The other day some friends got burgers and a club sandwich and those looked great too. This will definitely be in the rotation for lunch.

I couldn't pull out the share and sit without bumping into the lady behind me. There was a bit of a distance from behind us on the other table so we were able to pull that table back. During our visit, the restaurant was hosting a Santa brunch. It was nice to see the kiddos with parents and family, Mrs. Clause and the Grinch walking around. This was a nice to along with the unlimited mimosas, meals, and the hot chocolate bar. Our waitress was amazing! She was pleasant, kind, professional, and attentive. We stated off with the shrimp corn dogs. They were fried to perfection and the corn dog taste was great. They were hot and fresh. The tenderness of the shrimp was also great. The only feedback is that it would have tasted much better had the shrimp been seasoned. Without the creole mustard dipping sauce, there was a bland taste. For our main dish, I had the crawfish omelette. The sauce was good, however the texture of the egg was less than desirable. It was made perfectly round in a skillet and gave the texture of powdered eggs. When I inquired about it. I was told that it was mixed with milk, whipped, and baked. I would have preferred it with a regular egg. My significant other had the smoked salmon and avocado toast and thoroughly enjoyed it.
