Visited for the first time today and I WILL be back. Tried the biscuit beignets, though I wasn't sure what a biscuit beignet was exactly - whatever it was/is, it was DELICIOUS! Ordered pancakes, which came with eggs and bacon. The bacon is baked instead of pan fried and it was DELISH, with a nice smokey flavor that made it quite remarkable. The scrambled eggs were great, my ONLY complaint (and reason for a missing star) is the pancakes, which arrived I swear looking like someone forgot them on the griddle - brown ALMOST to the point of being burnt. They were also both thin and tough - how exactly do you screw up a simple buttermilk pancake? Not at all up to par with the rest of the experience. I really do think someone forgot they were making pancakes, then peeled them off the grill at the last second. They have other types of pancakes, which I hope are better, but not being able to score on a very basic buttermilk cake doesn't say great things. Still, loved the atmosphere, I was in and out easily, PLENTY of room so even if the place is crowded (which it wasn't, but I was there between breakfast and lunch hours) it wouldn't be obnoxiously loud, I think. One of the few decent places in Huntsville to get breakfast. Because of this it gets crowded very quickly and there will be a wait for a table anytime after 9 most likely. The staff are very friendly and make sure everything is in order. The food as also very good, they have a variety of options that range from classics like biscuts and gravy to very healthy options like oatmeal with fruit, so there should be something for everyone here. We called an hour and a half ahead and still had to wait half an hour past our scheduled time. This is pitiful management and service. There was nothing to make up for having made us wait. There wasn't even a spoken apology. This took them down two stars. I know it was Sunday right after church let out on a road chock-full of churches, but a reservation is a reservation. Either tell us that you don't accept them, do what Carrabba's does and say "We can seat you within X minutes of your scheduled time", or actually learn how to manage a busy restaurant. Don't say "Yes, we can seat you around that time" and then make a party of 7 stand in the pitifully small waiting area for 45 minutes. We were on the verge of quitting the wait and just going to Five Guys, but we were too stubborn. Continuing the service, the server was not rude, but she wasn't very good. My sweet tea glass was only refilled once, which is bad since it sat empty more often than it had anything in it. Her recommendations were not well received by our party. In general, this was a horrible experience. We've had slightly better experiences in the past, but this rating is for this last time. On the plus side the food is good. My wife had the Crabcake Cavallo, which she said was good (but not as good as the smoked salmon benny she had gotten previously). I had a toasted English muffin covered with steak tips to order, poached eggs, and asparagus all covered with a Bearnaise sauce. I've forgotten the name of the actual dish, but I do remember it had "Oscar" in the name. I've also had the French toast cinnamon roll, which was delicious but not good as a meal. The Popeye Scrambler is also great. Go expecting an obnoxiously long wait and a semi-incompetent staff and you'll be happy to give it at least four stars, I'm sure! read more

We drive almost 45 min to eat here and they never disappoint. They have expanded and have more seating now and I do kind of wish there was some soft light music playing now to maybe control the volume in the much more open space now that they have remodeled. Another Broken Egg is a hip Jones Valley breakfast joint which seems to play by it's own rules. That being said, this is usually what tends to make or break the experience for those who dine (or attempt to dine) here. For starters, they are open daily from 7-2. "Atrocious hours" you say? I'm inclined to agree. I've only ever been in during the weekend, but I can tell you that without fail, there is always a wait. "How much of a wait" you ask? 30-45 minutes seems to be the norm. "Bullsh*t!" You exclaim?! Once again, I agree. 45 minutes seems to be an extreme wait for the Huntsville area, much to the joy of Five Guys (in the same strip mall) who receive the bulk of the overflow. Don't even try to call ahead for a reservation, they don't allow it. Just take your vibrating coaster thingie and stick it out. You'll notice upon arrival that there are a bunch of people loitering outside. Weather permitting the wait is not so bad. However in the blistering cold/hot (gotta love those Alabama extremes) it can become quite annoying thanks to the tiny indoor front waiting area and the limited (2) benches outside for overflow, which is constantly an issue... Now that you've been properly forewarned and (hopefully) seated, prepare for some of the best breakfast foods Huntsville has to offer. Need a drink after all that wait? You're in luck! Alcohol is available. Need a beignet because you feel life is too long? Knock yourself out! These are the best beignets you can procure outside of NOLA. The question everyone asks seems to be "is the food -really- that good? Is the Is the juice worth the squeeze?" Indeed it is. read more

If you like mediocre service go. Wait staff typically too slow and the food isn't worth the hassle. My last visit we had to wait 1 hour for our food. The manager handled it poorly. Instead of apologizing for the wait and comp'ing our meal (family of 4) he blamed the waiter for forgetting to put the order in, and gave us 2 comp meal tickets. Thanks, but no thanks. I live with and am friends with the most indecisive people on the planet. So when someone says 'Let's go here', I don't argue because at least someone made a decision. Such was the case with Another Broken Egg Cafe. I went with my friend who had been there before and warned me about the slow service. Luckily, it was a Tuesday morning between lunch and breakfast, so seating was quick. Our waiter wasn't. While trying to get a recommendation from him, after joking about there being so much that looked good, he randomly wandered off to take an order from a table that had just come in. He eventually came back, and we ordered the beignets as an appetizer and both of us had Benedicts. My friend's was a Benedict Sardou with spinach and artichoke hearts. I ordered the Benedict Blackstone which was smoked bacon, tomatoes and chives. The beignets arrived with a honey marmalade sauce that my friend adored, but was just so so for me. Marmalade is not one of favorite things ever. Worse, the beignets were greasy and the grease overpowered the delicate taste of the biscuits they were made from. Our waiter wandered around a bit, while the other two waiters seemed at least vaguely interested in their jobs, including giving recommendations, and helping their customers choose between two dishes with actual feedback from other diners on the two choices. At this point, I was underwhelmed. Especially for the prices they charge. And then my food came. The egg was cooked perfectly with the yolks still soft enough to ooze down over the plate and retaining their flavor beautifully. The grilled tomato was a sweet counterpoint to the smokiness of the bacon and the bite of the chives. My friend really liked hers as well, but we agreed mine was better. The Hollandaise is a bit rich, and gets filling quickly. The couple that was seated next to us ordered one dish to split with extra sides and that is what my friend and i will do next time we go. We will go back, and hope we get one of the better waiters next time, but the food definitely made up for the disinterest of our server. read more

I finally made it to this spot after years of debating on going..Well I have been missing out. I have been twice, both for lunch and the food was on point. I ordered the burger (of all things) and everything about it tasted so fresh especially the bun. My date who I brought with both times ordered more healthy stuff and she really enjoyed it to. The mimosas we had were wonderful the first time, second time not as strong as the first but was tolerable. This was only my 2nd visit to this location, but the experience was just as pleasing as the 1st. I started off with a mimosa that was perfectly prepared. I had the Beignet biscuits as an app. The maple compost complimented it perfectly. My entree was the Stan's Mardi Gras omelet which was simply delicious. I had the Lobster and Creme cheese omelette one time, OMG. Most recently I just had a two-egg with bacon breakfast, yummy. No sourdough toast, that's rare here in the South, but my date's grits with cheese, shrimp, etc. was just fabulous. They have liquor just in case you want a Mimosa or a Screwdriver with your brekkie. This is my go-to place for breakfast in Huntsville; otherwise, it's Waffle House for a more inexpensive plate. Located off Carl T Jones near Target / Dicks @ Bailey Cove. My husband and I ate at Another Broken Egg Cafe yesterday morning. I ordered egg whites..They were SWIMMING in grease! I'm not talking about having a little grease on the plate, I mean that the whites were translucent due to the grease, and my english muffin that was plated next to the eggs was SOAKED! I could squeeze grease out of it! My husband ordered the ham and cheese omelet, i think it may have been sitting under the warmer for an extremely long time, the cheddar on top was more like a hard oily shell than a warm gooey "blanket" of cheese...we will NOT be returning! read more

The waiting area is a bit packed on busy weekends. Gina was our waitress and she was fabulous. The food was yummy. The children get a chobani gogurt prior to their meal so they dont lose it while waiting for their entree. Very kid friendly! Coffee mugs are cute too! read more
