You were filled with friendly people and cute preppy babies. Your menu is filled with deliciousness- and has so many options for those of us who are suckers for Southwesterny breakfasts. Let's start with the good: great food. Always liked the different omelets that we order. My orange juice tastes like it was fresh squeezed. One of our favorites is the southwest scrambler. The servers are real nice too. The bad: the time for us to get our food is ridiculous. Since we ordered, we have waited for over 40 minutes! Our server says that it is because of the Sunday church rush and other days it takes only 10 min. My thought is, if the resturant know this, then they should plan for it. It is a really bad kitchen issue that is affecting the customers' experience and not allowing the resturant have as many table turnovers. Ok. I really want to like this place because it's been recommended by so many people. But after three visits here in the past year with over-salted, been-sitting-around-too-long brunch entrees, I just can't give it my stamp of approval. I want to like Another Broken Egg for lots of reasons. It has a bar and a great breakfast-drinks menu (again, I'm skipping the drinks for the next few months), the menu is varied, it has a decent patio, and the decor is themed but not overly cute. Even though we had to wait 20 minutes for a table on a Sunday, our service was pretty much on-par. It's just really the food that's the problem. Cold eggs benedict, burned bacon, gelatinous cheese on top of my eggs, amazingly over-salted potatoes. POOOOOOOOO! Wanted this place to be good. They have great ingredients; high quality and fresh. My server, Brie, was a delightful and attentive addition. They have a interesting menu selection, the facility is clean, well lighted and very good service. The décor is something like Cajun restaurant meets Starbucks but, it works. I had the Andouille omelet with tomato hollandaise sauce, their Blackberry Grits, and a cup of coffee. The omelet comes with medium-dice home fried potatoes and an English muffin (Wolferman, I think). I think the plate was even heated slightly to keep the meal warm. The omelet was extremely mild flavored, including the hollandaise. Even the Andouille was mild (how did they do that?). The potatoes were fine but could have benefited from sautéed onions for a flavor base. The grits were well prepared and the addition of blackberries gave them a unique almost desert quality. The muffin was a good quality but should have been lightly toasted (I think it was just warmed). Coffee was not bad but it did have an interesting slightly bitterness to it. With boost in flavor and just a couple of changes this could be a go-to casual breakfast lunch spot. I wish them well. read more

Great Breakfast! Took a good 10 minutes before anyone ever came to take my drink order. Once my waitress finally came service went swiftly. My brunch was delicious as ways. Okay, so this place is one of my new hometown obsessions. The day I had to leave to go back to NYC, my mom and I opted to try this spot, having heard it was quite good. Oh and good it sure was... For those of the pro-egg camp, there are so many options for omlettes here which are quite creative and extensive. Options galore! For me, I was pleased to see there were a lot of options for pancakes/waffles/french toast. Mmmmm. I went with the large pancake with strawberries. LARGE PANCAKE? Why haven't other places adopted this concept? It was perfect. Just enough food without overwhelming you with pancake upon pancake. Just perfect. Which left room for the blackberry grits. This was a highlight for me. I have never had this combination and, after having had it, I think I'm spoiled. Can I ever have plain grits again? To be continued... I loved the hometown diner feel, with an upscale flair to it. The service was prompt and courteous. I loved the layout of the restaurant and even the cute keepsakes they sold on the way out (little clay glazed vases with the restaurants logo, etc.). We've eaten here many times, since it's the only decent breakfast spot on Sunday in Huntsville. The omelets are, for the most part, a winning choice. As others have suggested, try the baked Brie... You won't be disappointed. I'd recommend avoiding the times that the local churches are dismissing, however; the wait can be atrocious. Update: We've stopped eating here. The service has gone downhill over the last year and you'll easily spend $50 on a family brunch here. I'd rather have cereal at home than eat marginal food with marginal service. read more

One of the better places in Huntsville to get a good breakfast or brunch. Food is generally very good and staff is quite accommodating. The only thing I noted is that things tend to be a bit salty. I like salty foods and my bacon was noticeably salty. For a healthier alternative, get a side of fruit instead. It's also moderately pricy - it's really easy for 2 people to spend $40+ on breakfast. Avoid going on Sunday morning. There are a LOT of churches right around that area in Jones Valley, so everyone tends to go there after church. You may have to wait 20-30 minutes for a table and 30-40 for your food. Any other day of the week, there's probably no wait. Here's a hint: if it's just for one or two, you can sit at the bar and eat. Usually no wait there! read more

This place has a long wait on Sunday mornings, but they will text you when your table is ready and you can walk around downtown while you wait. I ordered the Black Bean Benedict which was comprised of a black bean patty and a poached egg on top of an English muffin with Chipotle Hollandaise. I'm usually not a fan of Hollandaise but this one was great. Not spicy, but very flavorful. My boyfriend ordered the Blackstone Benedict which he really enjoyed. The country potatoes were also very good. We had a pitcher of orange mimosas which were very tasty and pretty potent. They have a few other flavors too which I'll have to try next time. Like the character of the place and the waitress was friendly and accommodating. I ordered a simple breakfast since I just did a race. I was tempted by the bananas foster but thought it might be too rich. I ordered the breakfast plate that includes country potatoes- good, looked simple but had flavor, scrambled eggs- made to my liking, not runny cooked firm, english muffin- hard to mess that up, and an addition of corned beef hash- thought it looked like a small portion but it really did have a kick of enough flavor to add to my breakfast. The butter that came with my meal was whipped butter- huge plus for me. OJ tasted fresh squeezed. Everything seemed very fresh. My fiance gobbled his burger fast- liked the cafe burger and country potatoes. Decor of the place is warm and like a little home in a shopping strip area. Good choice for a meal with friends. Personally I had a great experience. I really enjoy the food. Coffee was great. I had it black, no sugar or milk. I had the French toast and I like them. Chocolate chip Muffins where good. Visited on a weekday morning, so it wasn't all that busy. We were seated promptly. The server was friendly and helpful. I made a horrible choice for an omelet, however. The skinny omelet is an egg white omelet with what was evidently an entire bulb of garlic. My palate was so burned by the garlic I couldn't taste anything else. Wow!! You must try this place!!! This was my first visit to Another Broken Egg but it will not be my last. Ate here on a Sunday around 12:20. Our only wait to be seated was for them to quickly clean off a table. Had a friendly waitress and attentive service. Our order took maybe 25 minutes to come out, which was worth the wait. I went savory and ordered the Biscuit & Gravy meal. (See pictures) Huge plate of food including eggs sausage, seasoned potato cubes. Everything tasted amazing and well-seasoned. My husband ordered sweet with the Cinnamon Roll French toast. He claimed it was literally the best breakfast he has ever had after saying mmm and oh my gosh after every bite until he was done. He also ordered freshly squeezed OJ. It was $4 a glass, but such a yummy splurge. With 2 waters, order total was about $27 plus tip. Not sure how this place got so many negative comments, but it's more than worth a try! read more

Love this place, I used to visit the one in Mountain Brook when I was in college. This one does not disappoint, it's just like Birmingham. I always get the traditional day starter with a biscuit and bacon. It's so good! If you want something sweet get the beignets. They aren't traditional but it's a twist on biscuits and they are so darn good. The service at this location is always great. The only thing I have noticed is if someone is not at the front door in the hostess booth try and get someone's attention or you may be waiting a while before someone seats you. read more

The food seems to have been copied from real brunch restaurants like Brennans of New Orleans and countrified (read completely trashed). It lacks any significant flavor or style. The atmosphere is a step up from a greasy road side diner, the waitresses wear T-shirts and the patrons look fresh from a NASCAR event. Huntsville needs real brunch, this is not it. read more

I had friends in from DC (where Brunch is king) and we bragged about how great ABEC was- so we called ahead for an outside table. The nice gentleman confirmed our time in 45 minutes. And we headed to the restaurant. When we arrived... the 'hostess' told us there was a party of 15 ahead of us...we were a party of 4... and they would text us when we had a table. The outside patio had literally 3 tables of people..... we waited for 30 minutes. I went back and chatted with the "hostess' who in7dicated she wasn't sure when we'd be able to be sat outside because they are preparing for a table of 15 who called before us. But they'd text us when they had a table.... 7 days later still waiting. We left after an hour of waiting. NO FOOD IS WORTH SUCH BAD POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! If you can't accommodate your quests.... just say so. It is more respectful and hospitality focused. This place is off the list. read more

My husband and i had brunch here today. Although the food and the wait staff get 5 stars, the hostess brings this place down to a two star review. If i had been at McDonalds, your blatantly rude employee wouldn't have bothered me much at all. However, when I'm paying $50 for a two person brunch, I want to have a relaxing & pleasant experience from start to finish. The moment my husband and I walked inside, your hostess said nothing to me as I approached the counter. I said "hi." She then raised her eyebrows & gave me a look that suggested she was annoyed and wondering what i could possibly want from her. She never asked a question...like "may i help you, how many are in your party?" etc. After a few seconds, my husband said our last name & that there were two of us. She told us there would be a 30 min wait and gave us a pager. We waited outside with our infant daughter for 30 minutes and watched a family of 7 who arrived after us get seated. Then, we went inside and continued to wait in the small area in front of the hostess station. My husband asked how much longer it would be and she stated that there were four parties still ahead of us. No apology or explanation was offered. By the time we were seated, we were both pissed. Don't get me wrong, i realize that the wait time and busy atmosphere are unavoidable. Friendliness, professionalism, smiling, basic courtesy (or lack thereof) toward your customers make or break the experience. Again, the waiter we had was great.
