Didn't get to eat here because I was so disgusted by the behavior of the two employees at check in/folding napkins. There was a wait, which is fine. I asked if I could place an order for my child. The two employees couldn't comprehend the simple request and gave me a line about not knowing where I'd be seated - well, there are help wanted signs everywhere, so I'm certain there weren't 30 servers waiting around. That was fine. I'll wait. What disgusted me was the one employee whispering to the other about what I had just asked, laughing and treating me like a third class citizen. This hasn't been the first bad experience at check in here, but enough for me to write a review. This is a clearly what the management of this place wants, so just be aware. They prefer large parties to couples. This became clear to us as we were in line with other parties which had the same wait time as us and the larger parties kept getting seated and couples being pushed down the list, way past our wait time. Just for reference 2 families and 2 sets of couples got similar wait times (35-50 minutes) back to back. Families got seated, couples did not. When arrived at store to check on place in line, hostess indicated "we do not use Yelp". She took name, cell number and identified a 2.5 hour Wait. Received a text from YELP indicating they would notify when table was ready. In one hour received another YELP text indicating table was ready. We had already found another location to eat. The space itself Is well set up there's indoor seating and outdoor seating. As a bonus there's a park immediately next-door where you can walk around and entertain small children while you're waiting for your food. The staff and management is welcoming and provides top-notch service. The menu is solid and everyone in our party of six enjoyed the food that we ordered. It is a little pricey for a breakfast joint but we think it is worth it. I will definitely go here again if I am in the area. There's not much to say about this place except that it was terrific. I order the Floridian omelet, and it was outstanding. There was crab in the omelet, and it didn't overtake the taste at all--one of the best omelets I have had in a very long time. My friend order the cinnamon French toast that was amazing as well. I understand if it's a smaller party or we're ahead of us, or if we had preferred seating somewhere(we didn't) but it felt like the hostess station was extremely unorganized and they didn't communicate with each other. I've worked in the restaurant industry for years and this is how you have tables walk out. When we finally got seated it wasn't much better service wise- the food took forever, the server forgot things, etc.... Overall, I wouldn't recommend going to this location. Great local spot that honored veterans today and that's exactly what we did. My husband is a veteran and so we decided to visit this place because its also new to us. First off, as a new visitor, they greet you with a free order of beignets (french donuts with powder sugar on top). This also comes with a side of honey marmalade sauce. Not bad for some local beignets but go easy on the sauce, its really sweet. My hubby ordered the Veteran's day special; Red, White, and Blue French toast that comes with strawberries, blueberries with a cream sauce on top. This dish also comes with a side of eggs and bacon but since he's pescetarian we substituted the bacon for an additional egg instead. Honestly, the french toast didn't have much flavor to him, maybe some more cinnamon or vanilla was needed. I ordered the huevos ranchos eggs and it wasn't bad, I just was in expectation for scrambled eggs and not easy sunny side up. I loved the side of potatoes, they were yummy. Went back here today for 17th year anniversary. Ordered the Amore coffee it first came watered down but when we let the waiter know we got a replacement that was better. My husband ordered the lobster omelette and liked it. I ordered the eggs Blackstone Benedict with the eggs hard poached. Unfortunately, when the eggs came they were regular poached eggs which is runny. The waiter (Mike) was very kind and understanding and took them back to have them remade. They came back better but more like hard-boiled. But they ended up taking care of my meal without me asking. They also automatically applied a five dollars off coupon that we didn't ask for it or knew existed. The new Lake Mary location is in a busy business corridor, so I'm sure all the nearby office buildings are happy to have a lunch spot. We ordered drinks at the bar while waiting for a table. Our table opened up quicker than expected so then the person behind the bar told us she was canceling our drink order since we had a table now. We asked her if we could just have the order filled and sent to out table and this was treated like a hassle. It was obvious they didn't like us just ordering drinks at the bar. Okay... At our table it was hard to keep our servers attention since she was in such a hurry. ABEC is only open until 2pm, so they were really quick to take our order and sort of walked off while I was mid sentence with the order and asking for water. I know they are hurrying but it's not really the level of service I hoped for. The issue here is lots of people wanting brunch and a limited time to get the orders out before closing time. Our order took about 25 plus minutes to come out of the kitchen. Our server didn't give us any updates like your food was coming soon or anything like that. We did get a water refill. I'll probably give this place more time to settle in and hope the service improves. The food was good, I had the Santa Fe Burger with a side of grits and my husband had the Stan's Mardi Gras omelette meal. We ordered two pancakes and a side of andouille sausage to share. The burger was really good, the grits were a bit too runny. The Mardi Gras omelette was really good as well as the andouille sausage. The pancakes were odd, a heavy and doughy texture like they were over cooked or the batter was too thick. I don't know what was up, but not light and fluffy so I wouldn't order pancakes again. My only con, was that it was a bit too sweet for me. I can't have too much sweet without feeling nauseous, but this meal was great. I think 2 of the French toast pieces would have been sufficient enough for me opposed to the 4 it came with. Eggs were perfect as well as the sweet ham. Since it was our first time we got free biscuit beignets! And omg they were amazing!! Came with a honey orange marmalade and the combination was simply perfection. Not too sweet, just a great balance. A highly recommend them!! I also had a coffee and strawberry mimosa, both were great. My friend had the blackberry mimosa (well two ) and loved them!
