Another Florida restaurant that came highly recommended and had great reviews, but wasn't very good. Input my name on the waitlist before heading there and it said the table would be ready in 7-15 minutes. We arrive 20 minutes later and still had to wait for a table. We wanted to eat indoors, but were told it would be a while before we would get a table, so we settled for dining outside. The fan by use was broken and when we were seated the host warned us to be careful because the table was wobbly... great. The host told us since it was our first time, we would get a free order of beignets. We ordered our meals shortly after. It took at least 25 minutes for the beignets to arrive and we waited another 15-20 for our food to arrive after that. The beignets were the only thing that arrived hot and fresh to the table. My dish arrived no longer hot and barely even warm. I ordered the chilaquiles which I had been craving. They were gross and boardedline cold. They were soooo sweet and not traditional at all. It tasted like weird tortillas (they used a fried flat dough) with sweet canned chili on top and an egg. My husband took a bite and made a face. If we hadn't already waited so long for our food, I would have sent it back. I also ordered a side pancake which was the lemon and goat cheese one. It was okay. My husband order the biscuits and gravy "sandwich". My man loves his biscuits and gravy and was meh about it here. His dish was also boarderline cold. Our waitress was non existent and the manager was having words with an employee he was disappointed in at the table next to us which was a bit unprofessional. It was awkward because the young man being reprimanded was giving us better service than our own waitress. Several table around us complained about the food and service and I overheard a few people saying they got the wrong meal as well. Oh and they were out of bacon! It was a sad brunch all around. I feel like the broken fan, wobbly table and shredded napkin should have all been red flags and we should have left before ordering, but I was starving! read more

My group decided to go to "Another Broken egg" for brunch today. I didn't have a great experience last time and was not excited about this choice but I didn't want to be difficult and kept my mouth shut and went with the flow. So glad I did just that bc my brunch was excellent. What a difference a visit can make. All 6 of us enjoyed our choices. Heather...our server, was more than excellent which is always appreciated. I picked a bagel with smoked salmon, capers and a little cream cheese. Plain grits on the side. The salmon was sooo good. It was fresh, sliced perfectly and just the right amount. Loved it and I would get it again. My coffee and flavored creamer were very good and Heather's timing for my 2 refills were right on. Gotta love that. The others enjoyed their fiesta omelet, supreme omelet, power bowl, eggs Benedict and eggs with avocado. Surprisingly all six of were happy and bellies full. read more

Hubby, baby and I loved our meal here earlier this week. Their extensive gluten free menu was a huge treat and a wonderful surprise. We loved the gluten free pancakes and each enjoyed our pancakes and eggs. I also loved my andouille sausage while hubby had the traditional breakfast sausage. I waited 2 hours, they sat people before my party and claimed that the other party went on an app and waited. When I asked the other party, they knew nothing about an AP for waiting. Then they sat my party of 5 in a spot/table for 4; we squeezed in a table and they made a seat for me. I had to sit with my back behind someone on a high top. Although they asked the man if it was ok with me sitting there, he complained so that I could hear him and he kept pushing his chair on me. The food was average. My husband and I had cold grits, and the eggs looked funny, like powdered eggs. The pancakes were burnt from the griddle and we had to keep asking for condiments, butter, syrup. This was a horrible experience. The hostess was rude and on the way in, I was licked on my leg by a dog whose owner lost control of from the lease. I like dogs, cats, all animals, but am highly allergic. I feel places that allow them should have a plan to support them, entrance, exit, places to sit, so that all are comfortable. This was the worst experience for the start of my holiday vacation. I will NEVER come back or eat at another one! read more

Been here about five times now, and would give five stars for each visit. We love the menu, as it has some interesting dishes in addition to the traditional, for breakfast. Love eating outside, and they allow well-behaved dogs, so Katie loves coming with us. She also loves the potatoes! Service and staff has always been top notch. Restrooms are extremely clean, and ample free parking. Only criticism is that sometimes the sun is an issue when dining outdoors. Wish they had some awnings or screening. read more

The computer system shut down after they took my order and somehow my order went all the way down to the bottom of the list so I had to wait my food for about 45min. However the manager came out and apologized to me and gave me some discount for that so it was very good of them. read more

We moved to the area in March of '22... my wife and I are dedicated foodies with the jonesin' for outsyde dining. We came upon Another Broken Egg as we were searchin' for a Sunday relaxing and best-o-food and an easy thought to the wind atmosphere. We made a choice second to none! The wait, even though busy, was less than 20 minutes and indeed outsyde. The waitress was right by our syde as we ordered cocktails and an appetizer to begin the discovery journey. We couldn't have been more pleased and/or undecided about the menu as it provided tastes up and down its pages although we quickly made a choice as we were here for food and grog! In short- one of the best breakfasts we've had and have been back some 3 tymes since. We're gonna attempt to bring our two dogs as they ALWAYS deserve the day out and by our syde! Surely the car knows the way now and stay tuned to our next visit. The food was good. The server was not very good, but most of the other servers we observed were on point. We even had another server come take our order because ours had abandoned us for 15 minutes after our drink order, and she was super nice. I think it was just luck of the draw that we got the bartender as our server and he was too busy at the bar to care for us properly. The food came out freaky fast, and tasted really good. Right next door to the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Lakewood Ranch is Another Broken Egg Café, located just off University Parkway and I-275. At the recommendation of the hotel staff, I walked across the parking lot and found this great spot to enjoy a filling breakfast. Little did I know that there was a spectacular surprise waiting for me at the restaurant... Another Broken Egg was founded in 1996 in Old Mandeville, Louisiana, and quickly spread throughout the southeastern US. This isn't your typical breakfast, brunch and lunch place, but rather a very casual and homey eatery serving very fresh and creative dishes. The hostess brought me to a nice clean table, and my waitress was right behind with a colorful mug and a pot of freshly-made coffee. When I asked her about swapping out the coffee for tea, she brought me a pot of hot water and a selection of tea bags without missing a beat. She ran me through the daily breakfast specials, and left me to pour over their menu. I heard some commotion and looked up to see Coach Dick Vitale walk through the door, and take his usual seat at a table near the front. For those who don't know, "Dickie V." is a legendary and hugely popular college basketball analyst for ESPN, and it turns out that he lives right down the road in Lakewood Ranch. Apparently he stops in at Another Broken Egg several times each week when he's in town, and he always takes the time to say Hello to everyone and sign autographs. "Awesome, Baby!" After placing my order, I walked over to the Coach's table to shake his hand. I was quite shocked when he struck up a very genuine conversation with me about my memories of ACC basketball, and my alma mater - The University of Maryland. After talking a bit I saw the waitress returning to my table with my food, and so I excused myself to eat breakfast. I ordered something called the Smoked Salmon Benny, and all of my Jewish friends would rejoice at this combination of Eggs Benedict and a bagel with lox. Before long, I was happily noshing on my toasted bagels with smoked salmon, whipped cream cheese, two poached eggs, and garnished with diced red onions, capers, and diced green onions, and sipping on my hot green tea. As I was preparing to pay my bill and leave, I saw that the Coach had set up a display of his book, "Fabulous 50 Players and Moments of College Basketball". With a big grin, I whipped out my wallet and purchased a copy. To my very great surprise, Dickie V took the book from me, flipped open the cover, and wrote a very kind autographed dedication. Wowsers, this was quite a special occasion for me! Another Broken Egg Café was a tremendous place to enjoy a very tasty breakfast, and the added surprise of meeting one of my sports idols was a real treat. It was our first time to this restaurant. We had the praline pecan bacon French toast today. My review would have been a 5 as the food tasted great but unfortunately was barely warm. Our poached eggs were cold and the praline French toast was not even warm enough to melt the butter we put on it. Our server was great but he would stop by so quickly that we couldn't tell him about the food temperature so I wrote it on the check. Found this spot while on the hunt for a good breakfast joint while traveling. I wanted something savory and of course sweet so the brunch specialty was great. You get a brunch item and can add a sweet temptation pancake or hail order of biscuit beignets. I chose the smoked salmon Benedict as my brunch item and for my sweet item I chose the lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes. The salmon Benedict was a 5 because it had the perfect balance of capers, onions, and seasoning. I chose the fresh country potatoes but I was not a huge fan, kind of dry and did not seem fresh. The lemon blueberry got cheese pancakes were amazing, but I feel they could have included more blueberries. Other than that I would return again and try the lemon blueberry pancakes again! read more

On my last visit I ordered the classic eggs benedict, but wished for the fried green tomato (which typically comes on the BLT) on my sandwich as well. I was very pleased when they were able to accommodate. Delicious and very filling for breakfast. For drinks this time I gave the tomatillo bloody mary a whirl. The eggs Benedict were excellent cooked just right. The coffee is very good and there's a large choice of different types of the mimosas. The meals are very large plenty to share. We had great service and enjoyed all of the selections on the menu. The price is higher than other breakfast places in the area especially if you are going to have a mimosa or Bloody Mary. With Bonefish offer 10$ bottomless bubbles if drinks are involved be sure to ask the $$. They do a great job on the food but it is not 'Quick' and recently had issues with bees. read more

This is our favorite breakfast spot in the area for a few reasons - a great menu, cocktails and good service - usually without having to wait for a table on the traditionally busy mornings. It's a bit off the beaten path but once you find it - you can relax and settle in. I had their Lemon Blueberry Ricotta pancakes and they were amazing - light, fresh and full of flavor. Their omelettes are also a stellar choice. They do have lunch items but we haven't tried any yet. They also have a nice variety of Bloody Mary and Mimosa combinations to choose from. We had bloodies during our visit - very good and filled with veggies. We used to frequent another well-known breakfast establishment in the area but now ABEC is our favorite! read more

We ordered the bagel with locks and fried potatoes with a side of hash browns. My wife loved the hash browns but I found them bland. Overall I enjoy this joint just fine. Wow!!! Super impressed!! We eat breakfast out very often and this place was on par with the places were like to frequent most often. Super clean, nicely decorated with some very cool colorful art. The crockery and plates are really awesome. Fresh flowers on the table only added to the overall ambiance. We thought maybe they had just opened but they've been there for a couple of years. I wasn't sure what dish to choose. There were some excellent selections. I settled on the quinoa granola and it did not disappoint. House made honey granola with a blueberry infusion sand castle like structure on top. Coconut crusted bananas and strawberries with a drizzle of Chobani vanilla Greek yogurt made all the difference.
