Perfect breakfast place with a super friendly staff. The variety option menu options will blow your mind. Try their homemade donuts with marmalade (free your first time visiting!) and go for the chicken and waffles with a slight spicy kick. Not too spicy at all. The coffee is good and they have an endless supply. This is a busy, homey restaurant closevto the interstate so don't expect it to be super duper clean, however, we visited late morning for brunch. Twice I visited for breakfast and I would tell anyone: "go to breakfast there and you won't be disappointed." I had the short ribs and grits: hands down my best---so I thought---until I tried their shrimp and grits on my last visit: the food was delicious. The service, both visits, was superb. The waitresses were friendly, made recommendations and were transplants to the state. I enjoyed their assessments of the area/region. I really like this place...great for brunch! My last visit this past weekend I had the traditional with bacon. And instead of potatoes I had the tomato slices. Nice tomato slices, not green or yellow or super under-ripe. Time before that I had the granola, fruit & quinoa....blueberry quinoa that is.....it was surprisingly delicious and hopefully healthy. But the worst was service - I felt like I came to borrow some money from stuff. We weren't served with regular water like it supposed to be. I asked for that. First time and will come again many more times. It was my daughter's 15th Bday and the manager (think his name is Mark) and staff went far and beyond with a group of 16 people. Been a very busy weekend day, they were truly professional and customer oriented and made sure she really enjoys it. And for the cherry on top, food was AMAZING! Based on reviews decided to try this place for brunch. A true disappointment to say the least. The menu looks amazing and very well designed however what you get is completely different. Service was slowww. It took about 40 min to get our food. When we did get it was cold and had to be sent back. The kids menu should only be for children ages 5 or less as the portions were extremely small. The chicken panini had lots of fat still on it. The jelly was found to have mold in it and was brought immediately to the waiters attention. See below, the chicken and waffles. Nasty! We had to tell them that it was missing the syrup. This place was so good. I'm aware it's a chain, but it was my first time ever eating here. We called ahead (since it was a Sunday morning) and within 15 minutes of arriving (at 11am) our table was ready. We sat outside since the weather was beautiful and we had my dog with us. Waitstaff was very friendly and they brought a bowl of water over for my pooch. Several things on the menu sounded amazing, but I ended up ordering the Eggs Blackstone Benedict, which is grilled red tomato slices on an English muffin, topped with poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, chopped bacon and green onions. Served with grits or fresh country potatoes (sub fresh fruit or City Grits for charge). I chose the City Grits which is grits amped up with cheese, bacon and green onions...they were YUM! Highly recommend giving both items a try. The orange juice was super refreshing too. Everything came out relatively quickly and was hot, fresh and just delicious. Now that I've eaten at this location, I am definitely open to trying one closer to home (we were in Sarasota for the weekend). Good breakfast option in my book. read more

This was our best breakfast experience in Sarasota, now for two years running. Despite being short-staffed, they pleased us in every way, including the very imaginative menu. Frosty pricing (four of us with tax spent $62). Economically minded patrons will not be pleased (withholding one star on this issue). Also, oddly, the aroma in the restrooms smelled powerfully of bacon from the adjoining kitchen, which causes one to wonder about ventilation, hoods, etc. I'd rather not think about it. The staff was very kind the menu was nice but the food itself was a disgrace to any cuisine. The chicken and waffles said chicken tenders. I got chicken scraps with chili flakes and honey. Coffee was water with no flavor. Just such a disappointment, sad I had to pay for it. Left the place in desperate need for something else. Went to Taco Jalisco to get some real food. Not only do they have an online check in/waitlist that keeps us from having to wait in the heat with our impatient kids but they also have an amazing mimosa menu. We've never had a bad meal here. Great food and wonderful service! As a first time customer we received free beignets and an orange marmalade (?) dipping sauce, which was a very nice touch. I had the Monterey omlette and they easily accommodated my requested modifications (hold the cheese, avo, and sour cream - you'd be surprised how many places can get this wrong!) Serving size was generous but not overwhelming which I appreciated. I also enjoyed the fact that calories are listed on the menu so if you're watching your portions, you can adjust accordingly. Another Florida restaurant that came highly recommended and had great reviews, but wasn't very good. Input my name on the waitlist before heading there and it said the table would be ready in 7-15 minutes. We arrive 20 minutes later and still had to wait for a table. We wanted to eat indoors, but were told it would be a while before we would get a table, so we settled for dining outside. The fan by use was broken and when we were seated the host warned us to be careful because the table was wobbly... great. The host told us since it was our first time, we would get a free order of beignets. We ordered our meals shortly after. It took at least 25 minutes for the beignets to arrive and we waited another 15-20 for our food to arrive after that. The beignets were the only thing that arrived hot and fresh to the table. My dish arrived no longer hot and barely even warm. I ordered the chilaquiles which I had been craving. They were gross and boardedline cold. They were soooo sweet and not traditional at all. It tasted like weird tortillas (they used a fried flat dough) with sweet canned chili on top and an egg. My husband took a bite and made a face. If we hadn't already waited so long for our food, I would have sent it back. I also ordered a side pancake which was the lemon and goat cheese one. It was okay. My husband order the biscuits and gravy "sandwich". My man loves his biscuits and gravy and was meh about it here. His dish was also boarderline cold. Our waitress was non existent and the manager was having words with an employee he was disappointed in at the table next to us which was a bit unprofessional. It was awkward because the young man being reprimanded was giving us better service than our own waitress. Several table around us complained about the food and service and I overheard a few people saying they got the wrong meal as well. Oh and they were out of bacon! It was a sad brunch all around.
