The falafel itself was perfectly cooked, with a crispy outer layer, and the other ingredients in the wrap were chosen for a perfect melding of flavors. I had the side salad, with homemade Thai peanut dressing, and it was equally tasty. My husband had the patty melt, which came on homemade bread (!) and was, per his report, perfectly done. His side was tater tots, and we shared them. They were crisp and light without being greasy, and addictively yummy! The restaurant is in a strip center; it's not very big, but the tables are well placed so that no one feels cramped. The open reception area and kitchen/grill make it easy for the staff to respond to what's happening in the dining room (e.g., new folks arriving). The corned beef was good and I would get that again, but not on a benny. The hollandaise was ok but a bit bland. I was expecting some lemon flavor and that tangy kick but it was super mild. It was fine just not to my liking. My wife got a breakfast quesadilla and it was stuffed full and was better than mine. I had a bite and it was pretty flavorful but we did have to pay extra for sour cream which was weird, but whatevs. The place has a lot of signs inside. Not sure what i make of it but there were enough of them that we both noticed. Our server was good but a bit quirky. For instance, she sat us and as we were sitting down she asked if we knew what we wanted. Not rude or anything like that we just thought, hmmm that was interesting. We told no we needed to look at the menu and it was all fine. I just think she had a quirky personality, nothing off putting. We kind of laughed about it and went on. More of a story than anything else that we talk about and get a kick out of. Overall the place was ok. We would come back if we were close around that area and hungry but we probably wouldn't drive across town to eat there.

This will be a long review; but hope to get a call from corporate. On Mother's Day @9:51am I had checked in online to get a table for my family & I, the wait was expected to be two hours long, seriously no problem. I arrive @11:30ish am to check in and the lady at the front her name is Brittany she claims to be the "owner" of the company. While I checked in with her. She said it would be "a couple of hours" I asked her how long is a couple of hours and she repeated herself and said "it'll be a couple of hours" again, no problem considering it's a holiday, I understand, I leave the area to go to Starbucks and grab a drink & notify my family that it would be longer than expected so get here when you can to the restaurant. I get a text 15-20 minutes later, stating my table was ready, my son and I go in to check in. Brittany the "owner" sat us down. Our server came and greeted us & I let him know that I was patiently waiting on my family to get there, not even 3-5 minutes after stating that, Brittany came around the corner and asked how long would it be until my family got there, I politely told her 15-30 minutes as it was originally a two hour wait. She told me that I needed to get up so they could sit another table. I was flustered because who wouldn't be let's be honest here. I told her I needed to call my family and see if I could order for them, she than came back and made the remark of " good thing you'll put their order in & by the time they get here the food will be out, this works perfect for you". Keep in mind I'm still on the phone with my family. She is waiting for me to get off the phone and I tell her, ma'am I am trying to figure it out, she changed her mind and decided to tell me that this is an important holiday for mothers and that I was being snobby, & that "she is the owner & I needed to leave". Nice words were not exchanged after that point. I got up and left. I came back in and I asked for her name and corporates number, she than told me "no look it up online" I told her I wasn't leaving until I had it. She took me outside and told me that she did not call me a name, that she asked me to leave because I called her a name first. I told her how I felt, because this is a Mother's Day holiday, I'm trying to enjoy a nice breakfast with my family & my children as I recently lost my step mom two weeks ago: she was so rude and mean. Than she had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to go menus. I truly enjoyed this place, she made this place a horrible nightmare. I made a review on Facebook & she also had her friend comment on it stating she was there and witnessed the whole thing. This is not the first time this has happened to Someone else. She truly needs to be let go, I feel she was profiling me. If I do not hear back I will be reaching out to Someone Else, I feel I was treated VERY poorly. read more

Another great experience at Another Broken Egg. First: I love that I can check in online, finish getting ready at my house, arrive and get seated slimiest immediately. How great is that?!? Second: the people! Wes didn't take care of us today, but he made sure to stop by and say hello. He always remembers our names. Who doesn't love that? Check in us always simple and easy. The hostess stand is always efficient and friendly. The owner/operator is always friendly and makes certain you know your business is appreciated. There are other breakfast joints in town, but there's something about seeing the owner there on a busy morning that makes you just want to come here. It just feels more personal, which is why we find ourselves here on Mother's Day. Hunter helped us today and he was such a sweetie! He had great recommendations and we very much enjoyed the seasonal margaritas! Which leads me to the third reason: If you come in, you must try any of the seasonal selections. We always eat those first, as they change and we only get to come on Saturday or Sundays. The Rum French Toast was to die for. Not too much sauce either, so you could taste the fruit. I have never been to a breakfast/brunch restaurant like this before. The food is amazing, breakfast with a New Orleans influence that makes you want to order everything on the menu. The drinks are innovative and delicious... my favorite is the lemon blueberry mimosa. They have drink specials every day and the staff is super friendly. Most things on the menu are more breakfast oriented but there are some items that remind me of lunch. Either way, you are not going to go wrong choosing this place for your next meal. Best part of all, the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get and the culinary elevation they put in every dish. Great food, amazing drinks, friendly and awesome staff... you have to try this restaurant. I promise you will love it and return as often as you can. I cannot believe it took me so long to stop in to Broken Egg Cafe. Our server's name was Hunter and he was magnificent! Although we both chose a entree, we have a very long and successful habit of asking the server to bring us something to give us a 'taste' of the place. ( I will come back to this ). Our picks off the menu were amazing. From the Louisiana flair to the uniqueness of the the coffee cup itself, we were thoroughly impressed. And now back to the the items that Hunter brought us... Well my A1C may not be on board, but the beignets and the cinnamon roll pancake with cream cheese icing and fresh fruit had me in a wonderful carb comma for about 3 days!!! We came for brunch today and have been here a handful of times and have not had the experience we had today! Alexa was our server and when we ordered a pitcher of champagne she brought us flute glasses instead of wine glasses with a strawberry garnish! An absolute amazing touch to the experience! After a few minutes of ordering our food she asked if we would like a complimentary beignets app, I'm not much of a sweet eater but these were such a nice touch to not only for the experience but very subtle flavor! Me and my fiancé come from a server and bartender background before moving to KC and it's experiences like these that make our meal go from great to fantastic! Tried this restaurant on day 6 after initial opening. My husband and I were seated immediately and the staff was all very welcoming. The hostess who seated us made some helpful menu recommendations. One of the owners came to our table to introduce herself and made some menu recommendations, as well. I ordered chicken & waffles and my husband ordered the pancake trio (peach cobbler, bananas foster, lemon blueberry goat cheese). Both meals were served hot and as ordered. We both enjoyed our menu choice. The menu is southern inspired foods mixed with traditional breakfast / brunch items, with a great variety of different choices worth ttrying. We would recommend this restaurant and will return to try different items on their menu. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

Was in town from TN to watch the Chiefs beat up on the Titans. Was hungry, and happened to come across this restaurant. Little did I know that it was the Grand Opening when I walked in. While the wait was to be expected, how amazing the Floridian Omelet was definitely not expected. The berry lemon mimosa was quite a treat as well. I'm not much of an egg person, but I've had dreams about this omelet since that fateful Monday mid- morning brunch experience. The first week of a restaurant is always going to be tough with getting kinks worked out, and the crowd, but this experience was nothing but positive. It was well worth the wait! On a crowded Sunday morning I took my wife and 2 adult daughters out for brunch. The food was amazing. The girls loved passing around their mimosa flight and I had a Bloody Mary that was out of this world. But the food was heavenly. I had the shrimp and grits and they were like a Fourth of July fireworks show going off for my tastebuds' enjoyment. I had a great experience at Another Broken Egg Cafe of Overland Park. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious and fresh. I ordered the Bananas Foster Pancakes and they were fluffy and topped with caramelized bananas and whipped cream. My friend had the Crab Cake Benedict and he said it was amazing, with crispy crab cakes, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce on an English muffin. We also shared a Cinnamon Roll French Toast which was decadent and satisfying. The portions were generous and we left feeling full and happy. Amazing service & delicious food!!! I went out of my comfort zone and tried their lemon blueberry goat cheese pancake and it was amazing! Their egg scramble with country potatoes completed the meal. So good! My cousin and I topped it off with the strawberry st. Germain mimosa which we highly recommend! Our waiter was on top of his game and super kind! I also love supporting business that don't harp about masks and allow the individual to make decisions for ourselves. To all those 'Karen's' out there that feel like you have to give a business a bad review based on mask wearing etc. Go HOME and stay home as this is where you belong. You do not need to be out in public as the boogeyman COVID will get you. Be very afraid and do not come out into public until you are ready. You have no business being in a restaurant. Within a week of my first visit, I brought 2 friends who hadn't been before. We shared THE MOST DELICIOUS PITCHER OF LEMON BLUEBERRY MIMOSAS!!! Oh my word!! I spent several years frequently eating breakfast at Dagwood's on Southwest traffic way when I was working over there in the late 90's and early 00's. I just moved into the area, and was delighted to find that a Dagwood's had opened up here a year ago. I was worried it would not live up to the memories of that little cafe, but it does, with more seating and a casual and friendly atmosphere. Walking back through all my old favorites, I have been pleasantly delighted so far! If I had a complaint... they don't have heavy cream for the coffee (but few places do). Thats a me problem everywhere I go. And I do have to say that the cinnamon roll is nothing to gush over. Maybe even a little dry. Otherwise, this is an immediate staple for myself and my family. It feels warm and comfortable and just a great place to meet for breakfast/brunch any day except Monday!

My plate looked like a kid's meal, and I left hungry. Not what I expect when paying adult prices. Overcooked food: My eggs were rubbery, the bacon was brittle, and the hash browns were burnt on the outside and raw inside. "Perfect" is a fantasy word here. Had to ask for bread yes, you read that right. They don't even bring toast with breakfast unless you beg for it. Basic diner fail. Attentive service? The staff was too busy chatting to notice empty coffee cups or check on food quality. And here's the saddest part: I'd rather go to IHOP and get the wrong order than come back here. At least IHOP fixes it without attitude, and you actually get enough food. I want to support local businesses. But not ones that serve overcooked, overpriced scraps and can't even remember to bring bread. This place didn't replace the old favorite it just lowered the bar. I chose bacon, a Belgian waffle and eggs. Everything was delicious except for the bacon. The bacon seemed extremely salty. They also had a millionaire bacon, I think it was called that was seasoned and sweet. Maybe I should've tried that one. The server asked me how I liked my meal and I told her about the bacon. When she brought me my bill she said she couldn't take the bacon off because it was a part of the whole meal. However, she did take off the price of the drink, which was really kind of her so I left her a nice tip.

Was looking for a good protein rich breakfast after a big hike this morning & It never goes wrong here! I got Avocado toast , Pork sausage and eggs & my friend got omelette, potatoes & a toast. I personally liked everything about my breakfast especially the whole grain artisan toast with freshly smashed avocado. Yummmm :) It took about 10 minutes for someone to address our table. Other than that, everything went well. Lots of parking available outside.

On the weekends, they serve Biscuits and Gravy until they run out; unfortunately, I think I got some of the last of the batch. My husband had the pork cutlet. We were both impressed by the large portion sizes but the star of the show was the cinnamon roll. For $5, you get a gigantic cinnamon roll swimming in butter and frosting. It was absolutely DELISH. The service was excellent and quite fast, especially considering it was the post-church Sunday rush. It's an adorable atmosphere with plenty of tchotchkes and decor all around.

I also had a caramel iced coffee. And he had regular coffee, which he said was very good. The place was clean and decorated in old timer decor. The best part of the whole meal was Wes. He was our server. He was very personable, attentive enough and seemed genuine in his interactions with all of his customers. He has a great accent to boot! We give the meal a 4/5, but Wes gets a 10/10.
