My friend ordered the breakfast burrito, it was huge! For a side she had the sweet potato tots. She let me steal a bite of both and yum! I opted for the Hot Honey Chicken with Pimento Benedict and wow! I was nervous the pimento cheese would be overpowering, but it wasn't at all! It was a nice, creamy complement to the spicy crispy chicken. The hollandaise cut through some of the richness for a pleasant mellower. Prices are reasonable and our waitress was great! The restaurant is larger than it looks but it does get quite crowded. Can't wait to come back here!

This is a solid restaurant with much to offer in the brunch/breakfast area - an area that has become popular and chic, and it almost always means much will be expensive, usual very expensive considering the less than costly menu ingredients that drive food choices here, and other such brunch spots. Brunch is seen as more than just a meal for some folks who are all into what is trendy, and restaurant are aware of this and prices are raised due to the "experience" element! I have tried several items here including their version of Huevos Rancheros (not a fan of how they make it, pulled pork is a party foul), the Eggs Benedict (decent but over priced for sure, $17 with bacon added), and several Omelette choices, can reach $15. This is obviously a popular spot in downtown Winston, but I find it generally overpriced, loud, and the service is inconsistent. I like a good adventure, but somethings simply are not worth the cost! Note that the prices for individual items are written, very lightly with no $ sign to the right of the item. This is done intentionally to make the customer pay less attention to what they spending. Many restaurants are using some form of this approach!

Additional drinks did eventually arrive though, and the food came not long after. Even with the accompanying side of baked apples, the plate seemed scant in its content. And the flavors were pretty bland too, leading me to wish I'd picked something with more to offer, in addition to a dish with more substance. [That said, the omelets I saw on the plates of a neighboring table didn't seem all that large or visually impressive either.] The food didn't taste bad, mind you. I just didn't get enough in amount, in value or in quality to leave me genuinely impressed. Like the decor, the meal felt like it was a half-empty shell, with plenty of room for more. So maybe I'll go back another time and see if some other selection from the menu has more to offer. Otherwise, Eggies feels outclassed by most any other breakfast-focused dining option in the area. If I want simplicity on a plate, I can find it at a wealth of other restaurants with morning hours, and I can probably get more for my money there. And until I find something genuinely special about what's coming from the kitchen here, I don't see my attention or interest being captured by the relatively pedestrian experience I've had here so far.

The restaurant is small but quaint, as we entered we got to snag the last open table at that time fairly quickly. Their menu is full of breakfast/brunchy/sandwich/burgers like offerings with plenty of offerings. I went to the "Build Your Own Combos" section of the menu, I'm all about choices. Here, you can choose 2 meats, 1 breakfast side, one bread/carb with eggs any style for $11.50 at the time of this writing. I went with 2 pieces of grilled pork tenderloin, sausage gravy side paired with one of their biscuits (planning on biscuit & gravy, yum!) with some scrambled eggs. Breakfast came out within an acceptable wait for a full house, no longer than anticipated wait. My selections looked great, with the portions being adequate but not overgenerous. Of note, the biscuit was big, fluffy, and exactly what you would expect from a Southern style biscuit. The biscuit combined with their sausage gravy was enjoyable with the scrambled eggs and tenderloin (I am glad I ordered two of them instead of two separate meat selections). With their satisfying coffee, I enjoyed this breakfast stop before the start of a busy day. I come to the best part of my visit to Eggies, the service. Our server was excellent...pleasant, helpful, refills right at the time needed, and so attentive with positivity. I wish I could give 5+ stars for her service, definitely made this visit enjoyable. I really wish Yelp had half stars in many situations and this time is one of them. With 4 stars for food/menu/atmosphere and 5+ stars on service, I really feel that this visit to Eggies was a solid 4.5 star experience.

We had a great first experience at Another Broken Egg Cafe! We were seated quickly when we arrived, and our server Jeanae was wonderful throughout our visit. Manager Misty was also incredibly welcoming and made sure we were well taken care of. We started with the Biscuit Beignets, which come dusted with powdered sugar and served with honey marmalade. They're more of a biscuit-style take on a traditional beignet, but they were delicious. We gave them a 9/10. For our entrees, my son and I both had the Cinnamon Roll French Toast. This was easily the star of the meal for us -- 10/10! I had mine with scrambled eggs and andouille sausage, which was also really good, while he chose the fresh country potatoes. I originally wanted to try the Shrimp 'N Grits as well but couldn't order the portion I wanted alongside my meal. Jeanae ended up surprising me with a small portion when our food arrived, which was such a thoughtful touch and allowed me to try them after all. My husband ordered the Cajun Shrimp & Crawfish Omelette and customized it to his preferences. He tried the tomato hollandaise on the side as well. The flavor wasn't the issue for him -- he's particular about the texture of certain sauces -- but we're glad he gave it a try. For drinks, my son really enjoyed his Mocha Cold Brew, and I tried the Blueberry Brunch Margarita. The margarita was good, although personally I would have preferred mine a little sweeter. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit. We chose to leave and went to The Cheesecake Factory nearby, where the service was respectful and consistent from the start. This needs to be addressed. No one should be treated differently walking into a restaurant.

They had plenty of employees, but instead of taking our order or serving the buffet, they were filling ketchup bottles, talking, or doing other tasks that had nothing to do with serving the customers standing there waiting. There was a man walking around (appeared to be the owner, as he would occasionally instruct his staff) who was drinking a sweet tea. He rounded the corner to the buffet and I thought that he would finally help us. No, he was just refilling his sweet tea behind the counter. Stopped in for lunch recently at this old school diner thats been on the scene here for decades. We…read morewere greeted walking in the door and told to sit where we like. Our server met us at the table with menus. A very traditional diner interior, rows with booths and divider walls, with some tables and chairs. This place is busy and a popular spot with the locals. After giving the menu a once over I was in the mood for a real comfort food lunch and went for the Two chili dogs with slaw and french fries. Along with a fountain drink it was about as old school comfort food as it gets. The dogs were good and the slaw a nice touch, my only complaint was the lack of chili on my chili dogs. The chili appeared as almost an after thought or like they ran out? it was barely a couple tablespoons of chili per dog on the two dogs. Otherwise it was pretty good. The fries were good and plentiful, and fresh piping hot. A decent lunch place, nothing fancy. Good home style comfort food. 3.5 Stars it served its purpose, just wanted more chili on my dogs 01106
