Iced milk tea with crushed ice so refreshing
    Isabel L.

I love this cafe for their baked goods and selection of drinks! They have delicious savory buns and sweet ones too. My favorite is their drinks, especially the milk tea, which always just hits the spot. I love that the taste of the tea isn't lost & really shines through. Also, they use CRUSHED ice which is an instant bonus lol The sweet lady who runs the counter is so friendly and it's always a pleasure to see her.

Growing up, my mom only came here for iced tea. And to be honest this is the best tea I've ever had!

Look you have to give 4 stars for being open crazy early and it's an insider place. Never comes up in a yelp search mostly because the time is wrong. I always forget where it is. Today I bookmarked it. Maybe Yelp doesn't list Chinatown coffee shops? It should co e upunder tbe following searches Bakery Eatery Coffee Tea Buns Dim sum

With a late start of the day upon waking up to despair and discouragment I skipped breakfast prior to enduring three hours of Saturday Cantonese and Mandarin classes. Walking with an already bad spirit, I wanted comfort food in the only way that would bring an inner peace and joy--Chigga style. I order two baked Caa1 Siu1 Baau1 叉燒包 which the breading was immensely sticking to the paper unlike rival reputable counterpart bakeries as Fay Da and Tai Pan which do not stick. Their selection of buns and pastries are limiting as well. Upon payment as usual, I request for a business card added to my collection which the staff gave me a very puzzled look as either do not speak English or not know what exactly is a business card. Limited English proficiency.

This place is good and dirt cheap! They have a wide variety of sandwiches. I was craving for a Hong Kong style pineapple bun with butter and stumbled upon this spot. The pineapple bun was fresh and soft. The crust is made just like how it is made in HK. I wish the butter was a little melted though. You can tell it was directly slapped on from the fridge, so the butter was not spread evenly. I also ordered a hot honey lemon water. I requested it to be less sweet and they made it exactly how I like it. You can't beat $2.20 for a bun and a drink for an afternoon snack. I will come back and try other items soon!

    Lo mai gai

3.5 stars Came here to pick up one of their famous Lo mai gai's for dinner at work and at $4.50 for 2 delicious and filling sticky rices wrapped in lotus leaves, it's a pretty good deal! I was not a fan of the location or the service. It's not located exactly in the heart of Chinatown but more along the outskirts, close to the Lower East Side, so it is a longer walk from the train station. The service was very brusque and to-the-point, just like 90% of the restaurants in Chinatown. The place is pretty small but it seemed fairly clean and was able to accommodate about 10 people. What makes these lo mai gai's unique is that they have a lot of different fillings inside the sticky rice, as compared to the ones that you normally get at dimsum or other bakeries. I liked how the mushrooms were cut into thin slices instead of being minced into tiny cubes. This way, they provide more flavor and texture. There was only one thin slice of Chinese sausage, which I found odd since there's usually a bigger piece. There was also a quail egg which is usually not found in lo mai gai's and I found it to be very tasty! The minced meat was also really good. However, I was not a fan of the cha siu. While it was a considerably large piece, I found it to be way too dry. I would say to try out the lo mai gai here because I did find it to be tasty and slightly better than ones I've had before. I probably wouldn't consider it the best in NYC, as some reviewers have deemed it, but it definitely is a step up from the ones that you usually get.

Location: located on the opposite side of chinatown, this place is tiny with 4 or 5 tables for a limited 20-minutes seating time zone. No decorate, but only food is present to the customer. Typical chinese service, but fun. FOOD: i had their bun- pineapple buns, and pork buns.. Too many artificial ingredient into their products... shame. Price: too cheap to be true. average is 1-2 dollars. Overall: ...I don't know what to say. if you are nearby, maybe try?

My bf introduced me to this place. Whenever were in the area, we always get the iced coffee & sticky rice here. The best sticky rice or lo mai gai I've ever had! Its very cheap & delicious. It has ground meat, quail eggs & other yummy ingredients thats wrap in a lotus leaves. They have some other bread too! Can't wait to go back!

    Lemon honey water

Absolute favorite bakery in all of Chinatown. They open up extremely early in the morning and work fast getting you what you need. I've only ever had the honey lemon water here and I can honestly say I have not tried any place better. At 2$ for their drink it is cheaper than most of Chinatown by 50 cents and tastes more refreshing. The baked goods here are also delicious as it ranges from .60 cents+. The ladies here always remember their regular and are super sweet as well. Definitely come try this bakery out as even their chicken in lotus leaf is amazing.

Feels like real China. Definitely a best kept secret of locals. Was open at 4am and running full swing. Prices are low and quality is good. Green jasmine tea $2 (light flavor) Lo Mai Gai $2,5 (rice and meat plate) abundance of pastries starting $1.

On this rainy day the glass facade of this bakery was so fogged up I couldn't see inside. But I was there and I wanted pastries, so I ventured in. It's a fairly small and typical Chinese bakery. The place seemed somewhat cluttered and cramp. The small tables (seating about 10 people) were all taken with locals enjoying a leisurely lunch hour. The pastry selection was smaller than other places nearby, but included many of the staple items you would expect. I got three (green tea roll, vanilla roll, and creme bun) for $1.90. Definitely a cheap price as many bakeries down the street charge $1.00 per pastry. These pastries were virtually indistinguishable from those at any number of Chinatown spots. That's a good thing. They had a standard selection of coffees and teas, and also had one or two bánh mì-like sandwiches on the counter. If you're passing by and want to grab a simple pastry to-go, Wong Wah will do you well. But I wouldn't plan to hang out since there are more comfortable places within a few blocks.

Another Canal Street best kept Hole-in-the-wall! I mean it did takes me awhile to locate this little bakery but it was worth the trip. Their Lo Mai Gai -Sticky Rice in lotus leaf, was simply one of the best i have ever had everywhere. rice were cooked perfectly -no dried bits, encasing various fillings of minced pork, chicken winglet, taiwanese sausage, bbq pork and quail egg. Fragrant, flavorful and SUPER CHEAP!! Bought extra two to take away. The buns were pretty amazing too. Soft and fluffy just like any Asian style bread. With various fillings. A steal!

Got off the E train and when we looked for Chinese food, this place popped up with good reviews and it was just a short walk from where we got off the train. My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.

"How 'bout there?" he responded pointing to Excellent Dumpling House. It was directly across the street. I pulled up Yelp, saw good reviews and readily agreed. At 3:30, the restaurant was empty. There were a few takeout orders, but we were the only people sitting down for late lunch. And y'know ... it was pretty good. Wonton soup is what I'd expect in Chinatown. Wonton wrappers were thin -- my preference -- the stuffing delicious and the broth flavorful. They were generous with the beef in our chow fun. Good, but the noodles needed a jolt. So I asked for soy sauce which was sort of a solution. Shrimp with vegetables was great. A lot of shrimp, too. There are lunchtime specials on weekdays, reasonable prices, and nice people work there. Next time it makes sense to try dumplings since it is, after all a dumpling house.
