A&S say their pools are "built for life" but they're really only built for a year and a half! We spent $100,000 on a pool that A&S built very poorly. After a year and a half it had a huge crack and leak! We had to call another pool company to come repair it since Anthony & Sylvan only has a one year warranty on their pools. I can't express how much we regret having used Anthony & Sylvan to build our pool. read more

We started the process with the sales & design consultant, Brian Syvrud. He was very professional, and very friendly. We had a few ideas of things we wanted incorporated in the pool design but didn't have a vision. He created a pool design that was so much more than we could we could have imagined or done on our own. He took his time with us as we detailed out everything form tile colors to waterfall positioning, etc. He was always available during the several week process of the construction to answer questions or help us out. We also had Ray Kennedy as the project manager once the design was done - he was at the site almost daily to check on the process and detail what would be the next steps to expect in the project. Overall, everyone we dealt with at A&S was cordial, helpful, and respectful...from the receptionist, the sales & design department (Bryan), the project manager (Ray), the coordinator (Patty). I would highly recommend A&S to anyone interested adding a pool to your property. read more

Our pool was built by Anthony and Sylvan in 2014. Brian Syvrud was excellent. He designed exactly what we wanted, and maybe even better. He is very attentive to details. He spent a lot of time with us. He is very professional. We really enjoyed working with him. The building process was not as smooth as the design process was. Our project manager quit the first week after breaking ground and was not replaced by anyone else. Our pool was built without much communication or timeline. After shopping around, I selected Anthony & Sylvan because of their National Reputation and their length of time in the business. I have seen "local" pool builders come and go - and I wanted a company that I had confidence in to be here for the long haul, honor their warranty, and be around to take care of any issues. In addition, the sales person, Bryan - was absolutely fantastic. He spent a ton of time working and re-working our plans and taking the time to make our finished project everything we dreamed. Once we started the project, things progressed in a timely manner and according to plan (with expected weather related issues as per normal), but the communication was great with a written time-line, to email updates on "what's next" and even bi-weekly calls from the local general manager to be sure everything was going as expected. The project manager - Ray - checked in often and was great to work with. Even better was the integration and working-together of A&S with our porch & hardscape contractor to make sure everyone was on the same page. Overall just a great experience, and I would highly recommend A&S - feel free to come and see our finished project anytime! We finished July of 2015, had a great end of season, and cannot wait to have an entire summer in the pool! (We did enjoy the hot tub / spa all winter long.....). read more

Our experience with Anthony & Sylvan was excellent, starting from the initial meeting Brian Syvrud. We met soon after starting the process of building our house, when we had only a bare lot to look at. We had selected the lot specifically knowing we would be building a pool. Brian came out, listened to us, and had something drawn up that blew us away. Though we waited nearly a year to actually start the pool construction, Brian was communicating with us to make sure everything was still on track and that our initial design (once our house was complete) was still "right" for us. Jumping ahead, we built the pool of our dreams and are thankful every day for it. It's beautiful, low maintenance, and provides much joy to our family. We did experience a few issues with equipment failures but those were quickly remedied (under warranty) by A&S without hesitation. Overall, we couldn't be happier and have recommended A&S to several of our friends who have actually gone forth with building their own A&S pool. We recently moved south from the north and have been very disappointed with contractors and their customer service. So when my husband mentioned wanting a pool I was very reluctant. However, being the great wife I contacted five companies in the Charlotte area. Our first selection showed their poor customer service early and deposit was returned. My cousin then recommended Anthony Sylvan because she knows how particular I am. From Tim (salesperson), Wayne (project manager), Patty (scheduler) and Justin (Pool school expert) the customer service has been superb. Patty even scheduled Wayne and Justin to clean pool during our 12 day vacation...now thats top notch! Kudos to Anthony Sylvan for hiring the best; demanding quality; and completing our pool timely! A promised 6-8 week project turned into 3+ months. Our pool was small and simple....it should not have taken that long. We had 2 different projects managers because the first one left the company in the middle of our project. It was almost impossible to get the the scheduler or new project manager on the phone to see when someone was showing up. At one point one of the workers was napping in his truck in my driveway. Our pool was not built up or graded well, so during the first major thunderstorm rushed muddy water into the pool. This took 3 days to clear up and happened multiple times before the company finally came to put drains around the pool to "catch" and reroute the rain water. Luckily, we've now sold that home and no longer have to deal with that pool or A&S. I would never recommend this company. Over promise and under deliver! read more

I would like to give a heads up to anyone considering doing business with Anthony & Sylvan pools. I requested a call from A&S via their website. Their Lead Manager responded quickly. During our conversation she asked me if I knew what product I wanted. I told her I wanted a fiberglass pool with saltwater filtration system. She took my information and set up the appointment for the consultation. Today the salesman (consultant) came to my house. Within 30 minutes of arriving he asked what kind of pool I wanted. I told him I was interested in fiberglass with salt water. He said we should go to another company. He said they have only installed one fiberglass pool in the last 4 years and their crews are not trained to install fiberglass. Clearly this is a bait and switch scenario. Their elaborate website claims they install several types of in-ground pools, including fiberglass. We asked why the Lead Manager would set up a consultation with us when they don't sell what we want. The salesman\consultant said the Lead Manager is a company employee and isn't permitted to not set up an appointment. read more

The sales pitch was excellent and really got us excited. The first half of the construction process was good and we had something happening each week for 4 weeks - sometimes several phases getting done each week. Unfortunately we hit a wall with the local workers and service at that point. No need to go into the ugly details - just suffice to say we had no work for several weeks, and worse yet no one would return our calls to let us know what was going on. However, once I was able to get Owen from the Corporate Offices of Anthony and Sylvan involved, things got back on track right away and our pool was completed relatively quickly and with no major snags the rest of the way. There are still a few minor quality control repairs they need to come out and do on our pool, but assuming those happen we are overall very happy with our pool and the time it took to get completed. The moral of the story is things do happen, so it is very important to go with a National company like A&S. Having their Corporate available to get involved made all the difference in the world and turned a potentially negative situation into a relatively positive one overall. read more
