It was a confusing experience. All the food looked really good, but was not amazing. We got: 1) Fish and chips, 2) Kid hotdog (came with fries), 3) Marina Strawberry Biscuit, 4) Steak Sandwich (did not come with fries), 5) Bing Cherries, 6) Grapes, 7) Chocolate milk. We received a text that said the order was ready about 1 minute after mobile ordering. We went to the 2nd floor and there wa nothing at mobile pick up. The very nice employee told us that we received the text because the milks were ready, however, we grab them ourselves. There was lots of seating, with a few tables outside, so no waiting- which is very useful when you have impatient kids. There are many grab and go options, I will opt for only those next time. We paid around $80 with tip, for food we didn't really enjoy. The milk and fruit were the best buys $6 (grapes), $7 (bing cherries), $2.75 per chocolate milk. If you get the fruit, chocolate milk, and maybe goldfish cups (didn't see the price), it would cost less than $30. Fish and chips looked amazing, but we're dry and flavorless. The fries were great. The hot dog was good. The steak sandwich was good, but my husband said it was too messy- but I didn't deduct stars for that, because that didn't seem to be reflective of taste or quality. The biscuit, from Macrina, was the most disappointing; thank goodness I only bought 1. It was $6.50 and tasted like a dry, flavorless biscuit. It was sprinkled with large sugar crystals, but was not sweet at all. The jam was not sweet or strawberry-y at all. It was such a confusing pastry. 3 stars for seating, staff friendliness, and convenience. 2 deducted for the confusing ordering notification system and overall food quality/price. I get that eating at a popular attraction is expensive, but there are comparable food trucks outside the aquarium that might be better options. read more

While expected, the cost of dining at the cafe far exceeds heading out and finding a bite at one of a number of waterfront options. That being said, the ease of staying in is a draw for the cafe. Not to mention, the food is pretty good. Situated above the entry, the loft-style cafe is a great spot to sit, somewhat removed from the bustle of aquarium goers. read more

Service is really friendly and surprisingly the kids chicken nuggets and fries lunch was really filling. There was probably 6-9 nuggets and for a 4 yr old that's alot! This is up a flight of stairs from the aquarium and there's a few outdoor seating tables that over look the big wheel. I would eat here again for sure! read more

We decided to grab a bite to eat after visiting the aquarium. I have a shellfish allergy and was asking if I would be ok eating there. The chef/kitchen worker said no, we try to do our best but chances are it will be contaminated. Needless to say, I didn't grab a bite to eat, but the rest of my family did. I thought it was rather rude and careless of them for those of us with allergies to foods. Hopefully no one ends up with an allergic reaction due to a failure on the kitchens part. We decided to try this while at the aquarium. I didn't really have high expectations thinking it was cafeteria style, but we were pleasantly impressed. You order at a kiosk then wait for a text to tell you your food is ready. We found out all orders are made fresh from scratch. My grandson had the pancake platter which came with 3 large fluffy buttered pancakes and 2 strips of bacon, berries and syrup on the side. I ordered the breakfast burrito filled with eggs, tater tots, bacon and cheese. It was quite large. Both of us agreed it was really delicious and fresh. Wait time was about 15 minutes for our order. Poor food, most of which never came and we had to keep asking for it. The french fries were cold, The potato soup we ordered finally came but it was broccoli soup instead, only lukewarm. The children enjoyed the pizza which we had to ask for and finally came after almost 30 minutes. The Gardenburger never arrived so we had to go up to the desk and remind them. Really good cafe for lunch at the aquarium! I got the BLT and husband got the chicken burger. I liked that it was removed enough from the actual aquarium that it was a nice quieter place to eat and settle down for a minute. I was expecting subpar lunch room food, but was surprised by their chips and fries being good. We are not extremely familiar with the recycling/sustainable process (out of state) so one of the workers had to explain that our drinks and everything on our plates could go into the recycling. I thought that was very nice! If I came to the aquarium again, this place would be a convenient option with views. read more

The food here is seriously underrated. I've eaten here several times, and was pleasantly surprised each time. It's wayyyy better than anything you'd except at an aquarium. The pizza is handmade and delicious, always dripping in cheese and various toppings. Their bread is made fresh every morning - I've tried the blueberry, it's so good. And the burgers from the grill are actually grilled - like grill marks, beautiful charring and beefy deliciousness. Espresso is really good too. It's all a bit pricey but that's to be expected. Service is hit or miss - some employees act (and look) like they're rather be bumming around at home, others are phenomenally helpful. Other eateries near the aquarium include Crab Pot, Fisherman's and Red Robin - this place is way better. Check it out next time you're at the aquarium! read more

This little cafeteria-style café in the Seattle Aquarium is a nice place to grab something to eat before taking your rounds. The Boyfriend and I arrived a little before 3 p.m. where there were only two other groups grabbing a bite. Both of us ordered the Garden Burger, and I was pleased to see that they were made-to-order! There is nothing I like more than a pleasant surprise! They are much better than unpleasant surprises. Just so we're on the same page, here is an example of an unpleasant surprise: getting a letter from the IRS declaring I still owe them the exact amount of money that was written on the check I sent that they already cashed weeks ago. (Jerks.) Here is an example of a pleasant surprise: meeting my friend for lunch at the Seattle Aquarium Café expecting I'd order a dry pre-made sandwich and a bag of greasy chips and instead being unable to decide among the many delicious, healthy and freshly prepared salads, sandwiches, burgers and pub food and entrees! Both my friend and I ordered the chicken and pear salad, tossed with Manchego cheese, purple grape halves and hazlenuts with a vinaigrette dressing. I held off on the cheese when I was informed that this Manchego wasn't actually sheep cheese (I live a lactose deprived life). Even without the cheese, the salad was perfectly flavorful and the greens were satisfyingly crisp and full. The grilled chicken and sweet purple grapes were a great combination, and the dressing was just right. I can't stand a salad swimming in dressing! Other tempting options included something from the sandwich bar, a salmon salad with a soy dressing, Dungeness crab cakes and Ivar's clam chowder. And there are also the usual suspects like fish and chips, burgers and pizza. Also, the view is hard to beat, as the café is located on the second floor of the Aquarium with windows facing southwest. At the end of our lunch, everything we used (cup for water, plates, utensils, napkins) could all be thrown in the compost or recycle bin! Hooray for walking the conservation ethic talk of your mission statement, Seattle Aquarium! Again, a pleasant surprise. Thought I'd be ordering pre-made sandwiches and got a healthy, freshly made, filling salad! Take the family to our city's fantastic aquarium filled with tide pools, tentacles, flippers, fur and fins, and treat yourself to lunch at the café. That is a great day! read more

I was very surprised with the inside of the aquarium, despite the dilapidated look of the outside. There are touchable animals in wave pools which was awesome. There are a lot of local fishes in the aquarium, its nice to see and learn about the animals that are in the area. I was impressed with the amount of staff around and everyone was really friendly even on a busy Saturday afternoon. read more

I got the veggie burger and it was surprisingly very good. Sadly there was no condiments on it?? a little confused about that part but they have me some ketchup for my fries so i put the ketchup on my burger. There also wasn't any condiments on the side to get and idk if that's because of covid or something else. But overall was pretty good. read more

Yes the Monteray Bay aquarium is better in every category. I would say the Seattle aquarium is worth a visit. However, the breakfast should be avoided if possible. I had the unfortunate fate of eating a few bites of the French toast with under cooked bacon for $10.00. Didn't realize bacon could taste that terrible. Perhaps the non-breakfast options were better. On the up side, the restaurant was clean and I didn't get food poisoning. read more

I was here at on a weekday after school started, at about 2:30. There was nobody there and it was fabulous. My baby fell as asleep as I was paying. I sat down and enjoyed the view over the sound and slowly ate my salad special of the day with a bread stick. The salad was one of those things that sounded better in it's description but it was still good, fresh ingredients. Portion size was great for the price. The bread stick was handmade, delicious. There was a nice selection of grilled items and salads that could also be wraps, a nice selection of beverages - juices, beer and wine. read more
