While expected, the cost of dining at the cafe far exceeds heading out and finding a bite at one of a number of waterfront options. That being said, the ease of staying in is a draw for the cafe. Not to mention, the food is pretty good. Situated above the entry, the loft-style cafe is a great spot to sit, somewhat removed from the bustle of aquarium goers.

Service is really friendly and surprisingly the kids chicken nuggets and fries lunch was really filling. There was probably 6-9 nuggets and for a 4 yr old that's alot! This is up a flight of stairs from the aquarium and there's a few outdoor seating tables that over look the big wheel. I would eat here again for sure!

perfect view for the giant wheel and the sea behind, there is not much traffic when I went into the cafe. They offer pizza and some quick food there.

The food here is amazing!!! I ordered the salmon entree, and the pumpkin crepe sauce was a divine compliment with the delicious salmon and potatoes! My daughter ordered the salmon burger and LOVED it! My son (who has Celiac Disease) ordered a beef patty and potatoes and loves it!

    The garden burgers with fries!

This little cafeteria-style café in the Seattle Aquarium is a nice place to grab something to eat before taking your rounds. The Boyfriend and I arrived a little before 3 p.m. where there were only two other groups grabbing a bite. Both of us ordered the Garden Burger, and I was pleased to see that they were made-to-order! We enjoyed our burgers with a nice view of the waterfront that afternoon.

The crab cakes are ok. They aren't as fresh as you'd think, though. Next time I'm ordering a sandwich. Their Reuben looked really good.

Nice Place by the water to spend 30-45 min. Definitely not the best Aquarium you will see, but the location makes it a good spot.

I noticed the salmon on the menu and decided to give it a try since I was looking for something a little lighter. I am so glad I did. Without exaggeration, it was the best salmon I've ever had. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the sauce and accompanying ingredients brought everything together beautifully. Every bite was outstanding. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was fantastic, the service was friendly and attentive, and the bar offered a great selection of cocktails and spirits. If you're visiting Seattle or looking for a great dining experience, I would absolutely recommend Shaker + Spear. The salmon alone is worth coming back for.

The Dutch baby was the real winner: chewy, and puffy golden edges, blackberries, candied nuts, and a fruit drizzle. That was the most memorable thing on the table. The fish sandwich was fine but a little underwhelming. Crispy bacon and a generous salmon fillet, but the bun came out cold, which threw off the whole bite. At around $25, that detail matters. The most disappointing thing were the Fries, which were on the harder side. Tables are tight, so plan for elbow-to-elbow seating. Worth it for the Dutch baby. I'd order differently next time. Food was 3 stars, but 1 star for our server.

Our server was friendly, answered all of our questions about the menu, and gave some great recommendations, which made choosing what to order much easier. I ended up getting the Dry Aged Steak Frites from the Happy Hour menu and OMG!! The steak, cooked medium, was incredibly juicy and tender!! I was so sad when I got down to the last bite lol As for the Russet French Fries, they were perfectly seasoned and just the right size. I especially enjoyed dipping them into the Fermented Chili Aioli. To which I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't actually spicy, given that I do have a pretty low spice tolerance lol. Overall, I'd definitely come back again! :)

I genuinely don't know what to do with that explanation. The food took so long. I ordered my steak medium rare and it arrived overcooked. I thought this was a steakhouse and yall can't even cook a steak medium rare? One person in our party never received their salad despite asking multiple times. Their stupid steak dish is $50 entree with zero sides. I added cauliflower for an extra $17 charge and received something I could have made in five minutes. Finally, we tried to order dessert and were told they were out of the item we all wanted. This place is a ripoff with terrible service.

Online the American Omakase was listed at $90, current menu is $120. Staff inquired about allergies. Overall 3 of the courses were very tasty and 2 of the courses were lackluster and something I could do at home. The birthday celebrant was hoping for 1 beef course, but we were given 4 seafood courses and a dry pork belly. All the dishes were plated beautifully but all the dishes did not taste great. Although the scallop and fish were cooked to perfection and tasted delicious, not the the creative and exciting experience the other reviews raved about for the price. UPDATE 2/22/26 I see that Vince U (Yelper right before us) deleted his comments about not receiving a rose and thought maybe it was Violet being possibly biased against gay couples. I understand why it was deleted but wanted to give context around my first paragraph above. We were very underwhelmed by the prix menu for Valentines dinner. I noticed Vince U did not take a picture of the lamb, which was about the size of a half-dollar coin, if anyone remembers what those are LOL. Yes the two bites of lamb was decent but nothing to write home about. Agreed, the Risotto was very delicious indeed, salmon was great, chocolate desert was very, very good, otherwise the rest was OK. But I wouldn't agree to understanding the assignment, for us. I had the wine flight and I love a good wine. These were all OK wines. I get it, you have to watch your costs and make a good profit, to which I totally agree. I wish we would have tried Violet our first time for the regular menu. I'm guessing we would have rated 4 or 5 stars more than likely. For a bill of $400+ (including a great tip because we love to support) we felt like we were almost ripped off. I get it, it's a special occasion and lots of work goes in to these things but walking out of there $400+ poorer really made us feel bad, from a value perspective. We never mind paying for value, but this was not it and did not hit the mark for us.

I have been to this place many times and I think this time is going down hill...with rude services. Last night's dinner was a complete flop. First, you quietly added a 4% "operational fee" without informing us, then another 10% tax, while still expecting an additional 20% tip? Dinner for two ended up costing nearly $350 -- meanwhile, last week in Toulouse I had a far better dinner for less than 100 euros. To make matters worse, you poured butter mixed with anchovies over our steak, completely destroying the natural flavor of the beef. The "au poivre" sauce on the side ($5 extra) was honestly terrible. And the steaks are charred and bitter. The final insult came when the manager walked over and very rudely told me I needed to put my feet properly inside my new $1000 Louis Vuitton sandals. When I said there was a nicer way to speak to customers, he replied, "I'm just being honest." Well, honesty without manners is simply rudeness. Look at my photos, salad, mussels, and steaks are too small. And your wine is horrible, how many days have they been opened?
