a tray of fried fish and fries
    Kyle W.

With more things opening back up, I decided to dine in and check out another fish and chips spot. I have tried Ivar's a few years back and recall that there you can opt for Cajun style etc. This place is located a little bit far off but still close to the water. This place offers some high quality fish and chips where the frying is on point, with no customizations. Every bite is crispy and it goes well with the tartar sauce and fries provided. However, I would say that the fish and chips is a little bit too dry, so a balance of crispiness and juiciness would be more ideal. There is ample socially distanced seating indoors and outdoors, with a great lakefront view.

Honestly, it is good experience. I knew it appears to be a food stand. It is. You wait in the line, make your choices, and they give you a tray of foods. We took our number to an outdoor table, facing Mt. Ranier, drinks in hands. Just a few minutes, someone brought our tray. The Poke was good and the Ling Cod fish-n-chip was delicious. We drank and ate and enjoyed the view: mountain over over on a beautiful day. Foods were good, drinks OK (not great), but the whole experience was very enjoyable. Guess it could be even better when COVID is over. Hey, not yet. And this is good now.

Anthony's pier self service cafe very good for quick bite or drink. We took 2 taco 1 x mahi mahi and 1 x salmon taco. Salmon was very yummy but mahi mahi was a bit dry. It needs some salsa or sauce. We got only ketchup for fries. Unfortunately with virus there is no more salt or pepper on the tables anymore and there is nowhere individual small salt packets. Everything you have to ask for. Even straws or utensils. It's a bit annoying. I wish they just kept individual plastic utensils. Margaritas were mediocre but it's only $6 so I don't expect anything fancy. Vanilla ice cream was very good with very good taste and texture. ------ Overall had a nice quick bite with nice fancy view. Place could be much cleaner and staff could be more friendly.

This place had what appeared to be one person working. She was friendly and quick but I can't imagine if there were more customers at the time, she would have been swamped. Ordered the chowder in a bread bowl. It was good chowder and the bread bowl was carefully buttered and toasted. Other items on the menu looked good when I glanced at other tables. There is outside seating for the rare day it's nice out.

Great food. Great service. Close to our hotel at seattle Marriot. Within walking distance. Right across the street. We got to sit inside and didn't have to wait in a long line.

We have been here for lunch twice now, and both times we have had bad experiences. The first time I ordered the roasted crab and shrimp roll, a couple of my colleagues ordered salmon taco. The crab and shrimp roll had a good amount of shrimp in it, but I missed the crab meat, it didn't have enough crab meat in it. It also has too much sauce on it. The sauce overpowered the meat. When I finished eating my roll, my colleague was still waiting for his taco, they had lost his order. By the time we received it, he had to make it to go since it had taken so long and they gave him cocktail sauce instead of the ketchup he asked for. The second time, I decided to try the clam chowder, the same colleague got taco again. The clam chowder was a disappointment, I mostly got potato, only a couple small pieces of clam, and didn't get any bacon (they call out the bacon on the menu, and I was told again while ordering that it had bacon in it). The taco again took too long and had too much sauce in it. You also only get one taco per plate, which isn't enough for lunch.

Omg get there fish tacos, they were so good. The fish was so fresh and perfectly cooked and the salsa made all the flavors come together well. Also, the tortillas were SO soft and delightful. The service was quick and friendly! AND they're open during quarantine!! I'll be back soon!

Great view of the crew ship but the clam chowder was super fishy I did not like it we tossed it didn't want to get sick before our cruise

Bring back the old recipe pleaseeeee. You guys had the best fish and chips in town and the new recipe is not it :( my cod and chips were fried for way too long and didn't have the melt in your mouth taste like before. Sad girl.

This place has gone down hill.... Went today at 3pm for early dinner.... Hostess wasn't very friendly and place is filthy.... For them to check your vaccine cards and be dirty is ridiculous. Forgot my soup.... Never refilled our waters and when they got a high chair... it was filthy covered in food. Had to clean it off myself.... And the food was absolutely trash.... 12$ for kids chicken strips which are cheap and probably cost 1$.... Go somewhere else's

    Fish and "Chips"

I was very excited to try some fresh fish in Seattle. My first night I walked over to Anthony's Fish Bar and ordered the Fish and Chips. I'm a Brit so I had high expectations to say the least. But honestly even if I hadn't had high hopes, it was awful. It was massively over-cooked, the fish was like rubber. And the "Chips" were just fries. Very skinny and greasy (also very over cooked). I'm honestly not sure how they managed that because it only took 5 mins..to be honest I am not sure the fish was even fresh. Which is embarrassing because they are located right on the pier :( Overall don't waste your money on something that looks and taste like food from chuckee-cheese.

The French fries are bomb! I ordered the Alaskan Cod and chips and my nephew ordered the clam strips and chips. I thought it was interesting that the fish wasn't coated in a light batter. It was more panko, which made the fish extremely crispy. I was hoping for more of a traditional batter. My nephew loved his clam strips and would order it again. Customer service here is fantastic!

Very cute. Very sophisticated. Very "rich auntie enjoying oysters on a work trip." But who was I kidding? Those oysters were NEVER going to fill me up. So I got back to my hotel, got comfortable, and did what needed to be done: ordered Mama's Crawfish and Seafood House. I went with the fried catfish and shrimp basket, which came with fries, coleslaw, and hushpuppies. Now the catfish and shrimp?! Mama did her BIG ONE. Everything was seasoned perfectly, fried well, and exactly what I needed to close out my Seattle trip. I thoroughly enjoyed both. The sides, however, didn't move me. I love fries BAD, but these weren't amazing enough for me to stuff myself when I had perfectly good catfish and shrimp sitting there. I didn't bother with the coleslaw or hushpuppies either. I know where my priorities lie. Overall, Mama's absolutely satisfied the seafood craving. Next time I'm in Seattle, I'd definitely skip the delivery and go dine in so I can get the full experience. Because apparently oysters and wine are just my pre-dinner now.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

It's located on prime waterfront and we dined outside on the deck, which was fantastic, but the food and service left a lot to be desired. We started with the manila clams and they forgot to bring our crostini. By the time they brought it, the clams were getting cold. It was also SO loaded with garlic that it could've repelled 20 vampires. Literally, all you could taste was heavy salt and garlic. The clam linguine also suffered from the same problem. It was a pile of overcooked linguine, and again, heavy on the salt and garlic, light on the pesto. The $65 filet mignon was a joke. Don't ever order this. We asked for it to be prepared medium rare and we received filet that was cut in half and completely well done. Unlike the clam dishes, the steak was under-salted and accompanied by potatoes that were cooked to different levels of done-ness and some chewy asparagus. Dessert was the only thing that we enjoyed. The 9 layer chocolate cake was devine and the best part of our meal. Overall, an overpriced tourist trap and they include a 20% service charge that gets added pre-tax and they pay their server a 12% "commission" off of the 20%. WTF?! Avoid at all costs.

I had the fish and chips, which are three pieces of Alaskan cod - coming with fries, tartar sauce, and ketchup. These were seriously awesome. I have to first talk about the beer batter on the outside, which has a phenomenal crunch. It's craggly and crunchy in the best of ways - with a consistent crispiness across the entire fish for every piece. I don't think I've ever had a crunch this good on fish and chips. The oil is clearly fresh, and it's served with basically no delay from the frying. I also loved the cod inside. It's super moist and flaky. Obviously, the fish doesn't have a lot of fat, but it makes up for it with a disappearing texture where you barely even need to bite through. They've clearly gotten the formula right on the fish. If that wasn't enough, the fries were easily the best I've ever had with fish and chips. They were hot, thick, and fluffy - a perfect combination that led to delicious results. The portion on these was great as well. If I had one complaint, the tartar sauce wasn't very good. It felt like it was missing both fat and acid, and tasted closer to ranch than what I was expecting a tartar sauce to be. I just didn't end up using it for the fish. Yes, this is pricey. The 3-piece order cost me $26 before tax/tip. That's quite expensive - despite a solid portion size. Is this the best fish and chips in the city? To me it's between this and Pacific Inn Pub. They have a much better tartar sauce and serve a larger portion at a third less of the price, but I think the actual fish and the fries here are better. I would say it's a toss-up - you can't go wrong with either one. Overall, a fantastic new opening that I would love to bring people to. 9/10
