Was excited to try this coal fired pizza only to be terribly disappointed! We had the regular cheese pie, which didn't have much cheese and I found the sauce very salty. Also, we ordered the Philly cheesesteak pizza, another huge letdown. The meat was very dry and lacked flavor, really nothing about it tasted like a cheesesteak. Let me just start off by saying that the food is excellent as well as the service I received here within my couple of visits at this Commack location. From the bartenders to the servers and take out. All so friendly and welcoming. However, the reason I am giving this restaurant a one star rating is because of an incident I witnessed happen between what I presume to be a manager and a young girl at take out. (Mind you, I never leave reviews but this incident struck me) I was here on a Friday afternoon eating at the bar about 2 weeks ago when I overheard a conversation that sounded like the girl at take out forgot to give an item with a customer's order. I witnessed the manager take the girl's hand and hit her. Let me just say it did not in the slightest seem playful. The look of shock on the girl and boy's faces at take out said it all for me. I will NOT be returning here or to any of the other locations if this is how Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza allows their managers to treat their staff. Absolutely appalling and disgusting. She should be ashamed of herself for reprimanding her staff that way. read more

I've been to Anthony's on several occasions and I think the food there is great. I don't know why there's so much hate for this place from the locals, because the negative reviews posted here aren't indicative of my experience. Yes, the prices are higher than what you'll pay at your local pizza joint. But, I think the food is great quality and you get what you pay for. I've had their regular pie and their eggplant pie and both were excellent. I would definitely recommend Anthony's to anyone who wants to try something different than what you may have at your local pizzeria. read more

We love coming here ! The wings are delicious, the meatballs with ricotta are yummy. And all the pizza is so good The waiters and waitresses are fabulous Anthony is our favorite waiter. He is so attentive to everything you need. They pour a great glass of wine as well read more

First time there last night. We sat at the bar. The bartender Corey was very nice and helpful. Had the salad which was delicious and the wings. Wings were ok, alittle plain. Food is okay. But you can get your pizza only one way, thin and burnt. And the ambiance is way too dark. Feel like I have cataracts.

Went once, ordered their pizza . The pie comes charred asked the waitress if it could be less crispy to be polite , she says that's the way it's cooked , well done I said charred, like this! Her response , yes! .... Can I get it not so cooked I asked.... Nope! They do it only one way , this is a coal fire pizza an it's the only way we serve it. I ask, isn't the way the customer wants? Not here! All our food is served that way .My thinking is ? My wife an I look at each other as if to say this place is " f#!@!!!!! -ed " A better description, it's a flawed business plan. The Staff was very nice, The pizza is ok but not great.I think the negtive reviews have somthing right but are a little to harsh. I also found it a little to salty and burned but $20 for a pizza that was good for 2 is not that bad . It is a nice place to have pizza and beer at with a freind if you want somthing dffrent from the regular long island pizza place. read more

Pizza is different since cooked by coal but still very good. If you're in the mood for traditional ny pizza go somewhere else. Wings are excellent. Would've given a better rating except we sat at the bar and Ashley was the bartender who not once asked if we wanted anything or how we were doing. Went for the first time tonight.. Tried the martinis and meatballs at the bar. First, the bar service was great. Corey and Kaitlin were the bartenders. They were very friendly and the service was excellent. They anticipated when we needed a drink and were only happy to set us up. The meatballs were delicious, the best this Italian girl has had outside our home (even better than Maroni's). Pizzas were served quickly and were fantastic. The eggplant was awesome. Thin and tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed our night and will definitely be back. read more

No individual slices?!?!?! I walked out and went right down the road.. Not waiting for a "personal pizza".

The food was fair, the service excellent. The music played in the restaurant was so loud that people had to yell to converse with each other. Numerous parties requested the music volume be lowered. The manager advised that only one setting existed on the volume control. Total lie. The place would have been better off with no music at all. It was the equivalent of trying to eat in a subway station with a train coming in. A subway would have been preferable as you would have time to talk between trains. The noise was totally unbearable. Just ordered take out, I ordered small portions and received large instead. My meatball entree did come small but they forgot my ricotta cheese, I asked for the pie to not be burnt and it was. Young kids work here and they know nothing about cooking, I won't go back too pricey $18 for a large calzone ridiculous. read more

Very good - but can be a crazy wait. Went to the Commack location. Arrived at 5:30pm and had a table of 11. They seated us within 5 minutes, but during the time we were there, we quickly realized it was a good idea to arrive early. By 7pm, the place was so loud and crowded, but they did seem to get people in and out without too much of a wait. I'm sure on a weekend, the case is probably different. Onto the food......not a big menu to select from, but we ordered the Italian House Salad, and it had plenty of calmata olives, chick peas, fresh tomatoes and good dressing. Then onto the wings with the carmelized onions.....not greasy, cooked well and just yummy. We ordered two pies and they were well done, but not burnt like alot of other reviews here. No one complained, because they were both gone! Beware though, the one with the hot peppers on it (Paul & Young Ron), can be quite spicy. So if you like a little heat (not temperature), on your food, then this is for you. Otherwise, ask for the sweet peppers. didn't know on Tuesdays they have half priced craft beer, so that was a nice little surprise. Service was also good. Our waiter was very helpful and accommodating. We will definitely be back.......just not on the weekend! read more
